Anybody has any ide what is the gap between the Contador group and the next one after it? If they will keep going like this then a lot more riders could catch up.

when was the last time that happed  would this year be one of the best ever for the french???

Well, if by 'best ever' you mean 'best in the last 10 years or so', then yes. The best ever tours by the French would probably be when they routinely won, filled out the podium, top 10, etc, before about 1990, and especially before 1965 or so.

I make SBS about 9km behind:

SBS 128.9 km to go
Eurosport World 119.3 km to go

(approx)

Eurosport has been on the descent for over 5 minutes now.

WTF SBS this is stupid. If you show something live actually show it live.

Just saw christophe moreau sprint from the group and beat everyone to the top of the climb. I remember you guys talking about that about 5 pages back.

Edit: Yay!!!! 1000 posts

No, they have won the overall 36 times

655 stages

And both Hinault and Fignon have won multiple jerseys in the same tour.

I just switched to France 2 as the English Eurosport feeds are crap... anyone else been watching/listening to that? It's heartbreaking listening to Fignon, he just sounds absolutely awful.

So will they reel in the breakaway or is it permanent for the day?

No one in the front group is a threat to any of the GC hopefuls. They should stay away.

So has Thor rejoing the MJ group??

Yes; he managed to stay away for 4km or so. Not entirely sure what the point of it was, cos pretty soon after he went out the back. Sastre went back with him so he might get back on the descent
