In the time of Banesto/ONCE there was a real struggle for the team classification especially Manolo Sainz used to make his team ride for it like crazy, and if I'm not mistaken Bruyneel is more or less part of the Sainz school. That being said for most teams it's not something that matters unless other classifications are out of the question (Like the polka dot jersey can be sometimes).

Since Versus want a commercial free last climb, to allow that we will spending the next 2 hours in a constant state of going in and out of commercial.

HTe only time I remember the Team Classification causing a significant movement I believe was 2005 going into Revel when T-Mobile had the lead by like 18 minutes over Discovery, and the break of the day was 20 minutes up the road, there was 1 T-Mobile rider to 2 Discovery. at the 20 minutes mark, T-Mobile went to the front and started chasing. The break got splintered and one of the DIscovery riders got caught out. The stage was won by Salvodelli for Discovery but T-Mobile went on to win the team classification. Thats the only time I recall this decade the team classification coming to the forefront that significantly
