I won't be around today, but just a quick thank you to The Hitch and all, for all the slog-work to get these daily threads up. Appreciated.

For which riders will this be their last TdF stage ever?

We know about LA and CM obviously but who else, either through retirement or non selection?

Probably Hincapie. Perhaps Pettachi. Saster? even if he does continue, hes more likely to go for giros and vueltas. Robbie Mcewan.

It seems there are a lot of teams without much to win or lose on this stage so I hope they get a little crazy and have some fun.:)

This whole tour has been rather lacking in fun.

anyone else find it pathetic ? the rs is riding in livewrong black garb today instead of the traditional team colours ? the man's ego has no bounds even in the worst defeat of his life.

Can anyone tell me what has happened to Freire this year? I can hardly recall him contesting the sprints but he is still in the race so I presume he will go for it today?

He said something about sinusitis.

Look, it's the last stage, even rs can have a little fun once in a while. let it go.

(And now they are putting the regular jersey on.)

Retirement Shack must've got special dispensation from their mates at the UCI to change their jerseys

An improvement though. All seem to have 28 on the back??

Nope. They have just been told the won't be allowed to start.
Lance doesnt seem to want to put his on.

Looks like they have to ride in their gilets. Hope the sun comes out!:D

No dispensation at all - they've be told to change back to the normal ones.

I think the number represents the amount of times Lance has crashed this Tour de France ;)

That's classic. One last chance for them to try to do what they want, and they got smacked down. My favorite moment of the race

I think we have a new disease on this forum, Extreme Vino obsession. Seriously, I can't get through three posts in any race thread without someone pouring out their love for him. Oh well, I can't blame you, he is a fun rider.

Well in this case it's granted.

If anyone can repeat a Vino today they will be revered forever.

They should have had permission to do it, which is what I was under the impression they had before the circus broke out.

That wasn't my point (canc awareness). Gosh, dude, give your rage a day off.
