Every team should bring a sprinter along. Telekom never had cause to regret bringing Zabel.

Steegmans has some kick to him but he is no Fast Eck. He would have been a wasted slot with the likes of Farrar, Hushovd and Cavendish in the race, all with dedicated trains.

Wow Cadel has really lost a lot of time today.

I know he doesn't keep up in the mountains but other then his early career has ever ever popped this badly in the recent years?

and the forum rejoices I bet...........morons!

I'm not rejoicing, still think that Cadel got a great feather in his cap by getting in yellow in the first place. Well done, and that jersey sequence befits the new-Cadel style of riding.

And I suspect he is still putting in a great ride compared of the other GC contenders with fresher legs.

But some people on this forum who though Cadel would be at the very front when it got serious were expecting the impossible from him.

If there is any "hah, there goes Cadel", it probably isn't directed at Cadel the rider. It is more likely a reminder to some that "Cadel can't do it" is not a sign that folk hate Cadel or don't pay him due tribute, but a statement of more simple and realistic exceptions. It os p[ossible to say that you don't expect much from Cadel this year in the Tour and respect him for what he does all at the same time.

Rabo still flying under the radar, and doing very well. So under the radar that the official Tour ticker hasn't even got them on the screen.

Schleck must be regretting opening his mouth yesterday saying he was the strongest climb on the race. Today AC did not have too many problems following him. He definitely needed to drop AC, catch Voigt (fantastic domestique by the way) and work with him all the way to the finish. But with AC there it means he gets to wear yellow but the job is far from done.

All the way back to last year.

Some day, ASO will finally get around to putting chips on the numbers so that we can have GPS-based position tracking.

For the stage: Sanchez wins the sprint! he is a smart racer and won't let Cunego get away. Can't wait to see the high speed descent.

How is it possible, that the guys who have been in the break all day long, working all day long, are putting more and more time into Cadel?

That's gotta hurt...

Hoping for Cunego. Go little dude.

I'd like to see him get this too.

Big Jens finally gives up on Andy, poor guy has given all he has. Let's hope he remembers to go down this mountain on his wheels and not his face.

This is positively maddening. No video at work, I have this thread, the tour's cartoon sans rabo and cyclingnews ticker when I can get to it.

Plus I am buried at work, I will be lucky to not get fired.

You could take all that data, assimilate it, and produce an killer website that would show everything. Using it in conjunction with the TV broadcast would change the way cycling is watched.

Voigt pops and Contador straight to the front. Schleck puts on his sunglasses to try his poker face. Then he hits the front. Loving this battle.

Who would be in virtual yellow right about now? One of these two?
