I'd agree with you, except that we didn't have **** all to look at today because Wiggo got dropped before the race even got going.

He's never going to win a Grand Tour, and in fact I'll go on record right now and say that his 4th last year is almost certainly the best GT result he will ever get. He might have a shot at a race like Paris-Nice where the climbs are shorter and less steep, I suppose.

being optimistic - if he doesn't lose any more time and has a good TT he could do top 6. but will that happen, will it ****. he needs some advice from le blarieau about sucking it up and being a man. **** this "i rode as well as i can" you need to ride better than you can, that wins races, not "i did my best, mum". keep that **** for the primary schools.

Surprised to see Armstrong up there today. I thought he would come in with the autobus and save himself for a stage win.

If he'd dug deep on Sunday he'd be back up the top ten today. Shame that he didn't put the effort in to limit the lose.

because then he could have helped Levi, guess he's a **** team player. :(

Well I never expected him to be a team player anyway, he's just thinking for his precious stage win now imo ;).

Good old British defeatism, huh?

It's his first year as a proper team leader, he should at least give it another go next year. Or target one of the other grand tours. You don't give up GC after one bad showing!

Are there any grand tours that do not feature any climbing?? He might be able to handle the Tour of California.

I have to say: I absolutely did not expect today to be this decisive. It was obvious that the race was eventually going to come down to Schleck and Contador, but I didn't think it would happen so quickly. Evans, Basso, Wigans, all out of contention today, and Menchov, Levi and Sammu not fighting for the bottom step. Kind of amazing.

Evans has serious problems. I mean if you can't take the heat, switch jobs!

How can one fail so miserably like that, over and over again? It is simply amazing how that guy poops his pants all the time.

I don't have a problem with him saying he did his best, because I genuinely believe he did, and that's why I think he won't ever better his ride last year. Right now we are seeing Bradley Wiggins riding for the guy who lead him to two consecutive Olympic titles and a world record on the track, with his entire team built around him and his entire season built around the Tour de France. This is the best he can do, and it just isn't good enough. Yes, it's great to have a British rider taking Grand Tours seriously but honestly I'd rather see him riding for the win in the prologue than riding for a top 20 on GC in 2011.

He did have a fractured arm, which probably explains some of it...

That's why he'd have to climb better than he has this tour. He wasn't that far off on the climbs last year so we know he can do it.

Maybe he screwed up on how he lost weight or something - he looks down on power.

But you don't give up just yet.

Cadel rode witha fractured forearm , that explains a bit

He should get real. What result can you expect when riding with a fractured forearm? To get yellow in that situation is already more than you can expect.

Where are you getting that from? I haven't heard that.

They just said it on norwegian tv aswell. Cadel rode with a fractured arm, but wouldn't tell his teammates to keep morale high in the team.
