You can tell the World Cup is over. The Dutch are back on here.
They are better at kicking Cadel than a football.:D;)

From what I heard, they were pretty good at kicking the Spanish players, too.

With the shoulder it was only "don't touch the shoulder" and with the dog it was "step on my dog and I'll cut your head off"

Show me something where he swears at another cyclist or laughs in their face.

well, it's looks like there's gonna be a battle between Samu, Denis and Levy for the podium. i just don't see them gaining time on AC and AS, only if Andy cracks on some stage, coz he's really pushing hard right from the start of the tour. Samu needs to gain more time on Denis and Levy, Denis has to gain time on Levy. gonna be interesting. Gesink is a joker, he'll be allright in the Pyrenees. today i really saw, how rabo guys work for each other, i'm glad they showed some teamwork.
As for Ligui, well, i guess their hopes for podium are over. Basso will lose more time, Kreuzi just not rdy.

Not want to go off-topic too much, but yeh the dutch team didn't really shine in the final to say it lightly. They were too "sharp" during the match and ****ed up. Deserved win by Spain and grats to them :)

Anyways there is no hate toward Cadel in Holland. I think most people like him. This year he's been doing great with his rainbow jersey. A pleasure to watch him. Still the guy is kind of weird, but that's ok :)
And ACF has some influence on the Cadel dissing here.:D And i've noticed that after only a very short while of being at these forums btw.

This thread is pure comedic genius! A person can get vertigo just reading through it. Boring, no great...... they're not going to race, they're they go! It goes on and on with the back and forth.

I do have to add this. Cadel may cry like a little girl when he is done, but he is one tough son of a ***** on a bike. He suffers like a dog and never gives up. He has done the yellow and the stripes proud. My respect is growing for the guy daily. I really wanted him to hold on.

Another thing, it is really nice to see some fresh blood (no pun intended) fighting it out for tour glory.

This thread is for serious players only. If you don't suffer from schizophrenia, then stay in the dammed shallow end of the pool. :D

I am officially getting off the Bradley Wiggins Grand Tour Hype Train. I hoped he would come to the Tour de France this year with better climbing legs and more confidence, but he's been pretty feeble. He should bulk up a bit, get some of his horsepower back, and focus on winning TT's and maybe trying to improve on his 20th in Paris-Roubaix a couple of years back.

As far as Grand Tours go, I think it's time all us British fans started shifting our unreasonable weights of expectation over to Peter Kennaugh. White jersey in 2011? You heard it here first.

Forget a GT podium for the forseeable fuure. With the present contenders, there are no UK riders any where near the level to compete. It always amazes me when Brits aspire to GT wins - what on earth is wrong with Classic performances? Seems a more likely place to go Gold digging than GT's?

What a shame. Cadel Evans is a real fighter, I'm really sorry for him. I hope he comes back strong at the Tour 2011.

Yes, he laughed in their faces, Boogerd said.

I think most Dutchies on the forum rather like Evans, certainly Evans 2.0. But ACF is such an easy target.

I like Evans.... I honestly do.

I take some cheap pot-shots at him at times, but I do that to pretty much to every rider.... And yes, ACF's histrionics do encourge everyone so.

That's good! Because

"There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch."!

Which would be amazing, since Buffalo is that other Gutierrez!
Rock Racing anyone?:D

Bumeington said:
Buffalo is Jose Enrique Gutierrez who was 2nd to Basso in the Giro 2006 NOT Jose Ivan Gutierrez who featured in today's breakaway

Mea culpa

Still on an adrenaline high from today's race. For a stage that seemed like the mountain had been neutered by placing it so far from the finish, it sure turned out to be a marvelous ride. :)

Nothing wrong with Classics performances - its much closer to the kind of racing in the UK - but its just the big money sponsors who need to get non-cyclists interested in the sport to justify their investment think only the Tour matters.

If Wiggo or Geraint or Millar won RVV or P-R that would be huge - for racers and serious roadies - but everyone else in the UK wouldn't have a clue what it was or what it meant. When Cav won MSR it barely figured in the UK media, even though it was like if Murray had won the
French Open first go....

Why did they give Andy the same time? Contador really gapped him at the finish... 1 second for sure, could have been 2.

Funniest quote in the news on Leipheimer's 'wise decision' to let Shleck and AC go up the road. Who writes this stuff? Hilarious.

Most of the time when I think that a piece is filled with factual errors and an Anglosaxon bias it has the name Stephen Farrand above it.

What's even funnier is that the article seems to suggest that Leipheimer hung on with Andy Schleck and Contador for a while.

Funny, as when Navarro pulled only Schleck and Contador where there and Leipheimer was already back in the Menchov group. And the suffering all the way up to the top was because of Gesink pulling.

The article on the frontpage seems to suggest a completely different story.
:D as if Leipheimer heroically tried to hang on with Schleck and Contador for a couple of kilometers before dropping off

WOOOOOO what a stage.

Liked my predictions (introductory post). Said it was going to be like the Giro. Used Monte Grappa stage as i didnt think it was going to be as the similar Montirillo stage. In the end it was somewhere in between (which is pretty f***ing awesome)

Chose samu ftw (again because despite my high expectations, i no way expected the favourites to go that hard) and in the end am proud of his effort. Dont know why so many people expected Sanchez to catch up on the descent even as it became clear that he just wouldnt make it.

Big chapeau to everyone in that breakaway. Went straight from the first km and 4 held on till the end. GREAT TACTICS by caisse. 2nd gt in a row theyve managed to insert themselves into the gc without having a gc rider. 3 riders in that breakaway. Moreau into the kom. Brilliant.
