As Stef says, greg admitted last week on tv that he was worn out from the giro. I do think the article could have done with some post-production. I think if that reaction had come from wiggins the forums would be alive with bashing.

Awww boo hoo, that's because wiggins is an arrogant ***. I thought a sky rider signed with brailsford on the terms he would be getting a ride in the tour?

My point being I dont think that article does Greg any favours. Honestly, I think it should have either been compiled as an article with a kind of "greg henderson was dissapointed to not have made the tour squad, greg said.. blah blah blah", "greg went onto say that he thought the team would be strong etc etc". I dont think that email is a particularly proffessional way to act, too much airing of dirty laundry for my liking. It shows passion which is great, but I think its a bit too blunt and honest to be published as it was.

My point regarding brad was because he is accepted by some as saying stupid things, moaning, b1tching etc, if he had written that article people would be saying one thing, with Greg they say something else. Sometimes there is more dignity and professionalism in just not saying anything. I admire the guys passion, but whereas someone like Alan Davis last year dealt with his late withdrawal with dignity, I think Greg comes across as, I dunno. Im going to stop there.

agreed. if anything pereiro’s non-selection is a mild surprise. fofonov’s absence though is a surprise as is gryvko’s presence.

not that gryvko does not deserved the spot but i thought his exhausting giro wouldn’t allow him to recuperate in time. He rode all stages there iirc.

I am surprised about Grivko as well, but I think his presence is more about the first week than anything else. He's a good TT'er, so I suspect he, along with Noval, Vino and Iglinsky, will be the engines for the first stages.

I think a big problem right now is that too many riders and teams are so totally focused on the Tour that it's actually causing problems. That's the downside of the Tour gaining so much stature over the other GTs and other races overall.

However I reckon they might have a chance with Rojas,LuisLe,Gutierrez,Plaza,Kyrienka and Rui Costa for stages win.

Actually, the other way round: Contador counts on them for the mountains (i.e. Gutierrez last years in Ventoux)

I truly hope they have a very good Tour. Unzue needs a new sponsor asap

Well it means that Sky have put all their eggs in the Wiggins basket, so if he fails...Although they do have Boasson-Hagen to go for a few stage wins if he isn't too smashed from dragging Wiggo up hills.

Feel sorry for Hendo though, he has shown good form most of the season and was really up for the TdF.

Hagen and hills don't mix.

Yesterday Hushovd dropped him on the hills. Heck, last year at the ENECO when he was at the peak of his form, super climber Posthuma dropped him on the hills

Hagen was good in Sallanches just 2 weeks ago so it's hard to tell what happened in the national championships. OTOH his best and just about only climbing performance is almost making to the top of Colle del Gallo with people like Leipheimer, Rogers and Pellizotti in what was a very fast climb accrding to cyclismag.

Lefevere has done it again: in a stroke of genius, he forgot to put Weylandt in the 15 rider preselection for the Tour, and as such Weylandt can't replace Boonen in the Tour squad.
