OK - I was defining "Road Race" as in the specific discipline, not extending "Road Race" to include the TTT (just as Vino is the Olympic Road Race champion), but I guess I made a rod for my own back by getting a bit too cute with the discontinued Team Road Race discipline.

Let's hear your question then, Hicz!

Well its made especially for you;)

Question.

Below are the profiles for 3 famous mega mountain stages in TDF history.

For the black profile, I would like to know who the winner was on this historic stage.
For the yellow profile, identify climb B (the one with the arrow pointing to it;))
For the grey profile, I would like to know the altitude of the MTF (climb C)

For a correct answer, all 3 parts of the question need to be answered correctly.

Good luck:p

C looks like Madeleine north, so 1993m.

A is Luz Ardiden 1988, so Laudelino Cubino (thanks Wikipedia, was going to say Herrera).

Edit: I've found B too, I believe. Portet d'Aspet.

Re C, has there ever been a finish up Madeleine?

Looks like a 2010 stage with the last 40k lopped off.

Is B the one where Casartelli was killed? So I'll answer Portet D'Aspet.

Well done all.

Except, the answer to A is still missing.

You basically got the answer right but the actual profile said 2000. I was wondering why wikipedia said Madeline tops out at 1993 and ASO has it at 2000.

Are you using some software?

I'm not aware of one but I guessed from the profile, first thought was Madeleine.

There was an MTF at the St-François-Longchamp ski station in the Dauphiné a few years ago though. Moncoutié won from the break, and Fuglsang and Gesink looked like a million bucks.

No special software. I'm just good with Google :p

How do you use google to find the answer to that?

The reason I ask is because I once asked on that other website, people to identify which 1 day race this is a profile of
bigraceprofile.png

And within seconds Krebs (suitcase of chaos guy on here) gave me the right answer even though the immage isnt actually a profile of a cycling race but a graph of polling data from the US election.

Edit, I forgot to add the final part of the question, which gives the final right answer to the question.

Take the 18th character from the first answer (including spaces) , the 3rd from the 2nd answer and the 4th character from the 3rd answer to get the final mega answer. Hint- greatest race on earth:D

Madeline was the easiest part of the question because it has the distinctive flattening out in the middle, and few tdf climbs are that huge.

Kind of. I used the one from the CN forum thread from that stage, which was the profile you show above only grey not yellow.
