So Rohan will ride the Giro because of the ITT.
If he's riding the Giro that probably means that they'll send Tao or Dunbar to the Tour, Kwait, Sosa and Castro have all underperformed this year and with this kind of route and no Poels they need strong climbing domestiques.
If Bernal is only riding the Tour and not the double we'll probably see Sosa as a climbing superdomestique at the Tour.

I dont think Bernal to Giro makes sense but it may still happen. Thomas or Carapaz to lead the Giro are the only other options but theyre much less likely to win tham Bernal. Problem is Bernal is probably a much bigger Tour fav than Giro fav.

Some lovely words from veteran Movistar rider Andrey Amador give an insight into how INEOS are viewed by experienced pro riders: "INEOS are the model team, and have been since they entered the sport. They have brought great technological advancement to the sport and revolutionized the way of doing things."

Riders are usually full of praise for teams they are about to join, so...

Thomas seems likely to ride the Giro, and it would make sense to send Carapaz with him.
Most likely Thomas will be burnt out by the Giro - doing his 300km 8hr loops
- so Carapaz may come in useful.

Not his integrity. More like maybe if I say some really nice things publicly they'll pay the out fee so I can then sign with them.
Yeah because that's how it works...the transfer policy at Ineos isn't based on talent or the needs to fill gaps in the squad, its all about who says nice things about them in the press.

Just drop a few compliments on social media and that big money contract is in the bag

You do realize it's already been reported he has a contract offer from Ineos, but CANNOT sign with them because of a SIGNED pre-contract with Movistar which REQUIRES an out fee before he can sign with any other team?

Lovely to see Sir Jim and Sir Dave partnering with other successful sports entities to push the boundaries of athletic performance (and confirm the concise analysis of Team INEOS recently voiced by a veteran Movistar rider). Perhaps Rohan Dennis can make some marginal but competively significant gains with the aerodynamic expertise of Mercedes. It will be very exciting to see how the new partners benefit each other.

Some lovely words from veteran French rider Kenny Elissonde on his years with SKY and INEOS: "I don't have any regrets about riding for Team SKY and Team INEOS because I learnt a lot. People can say what they want about the team but it's a great team to learn things and improve."
Best of luck to Kenny at Trek-Seg!

Ineos have their replacement already for Kiryienka. Triathlete Cameron Wurf (former pro at Cannondale) is added to their roster: https://www.uci.org/road/teams/TeamMemberDetails?memberId=57762

:tearsofjoy:

No.

(trying to say this nice now)

I know CF is real professional athlete, but he ain't never never ever going to step in those boots. Never. There are really hard superdomestiques in pro cycling that are way above Wurf and they are way below Kiryienka. Thats just the way it is. Of course clock is ticking for Kiri, but Wurf is not a replacement for him.

Dennis may be the one.

Do you mean CW? How hard is it to get two letters right and not make us think you mean Froome...

Kiryienka hasn't been that good the last two seasons, actually. Wurf is an elite sub 7:50 ironman athlete with cycling as his primary force. You (the general you, apparently not you you) would think patrol work in the front of the peloton would be right up his alley.
