Ian Boswell just posted on instagram that he's, 'after all', going to the Tour of Poland, while he is not on the original selection. I hope it's not Wout Poels that he's replacing...

They wouldn't announce Poels as the leader, then replace him.. right?

Wouldn't think so, but they announced the whole squad two days ago and now suddenly Boswell is heading that way, replacing one of those riders.

They have only 7 riders at San Sebastián, One guy from Poland is going to complete the lineup perharps

I wonder what caused those last second reshuffles? Boswell and Deignan in for Van Poppel and Puccio indicates that maybe Poels wants a mountain train?

Is it really that hard to recognize riders?

What?

Picture of today. You see Golas-Puccio-Van Poppel-Poels-Rosa-Boswell. Or you believe these last second reshuffles were made even after the team presentation? :D

I wasn't paying quite that much attention to the photos posted. Not that I'd be able to pick Golas, Van Poppel or a few of the others out of a police line up anyway. It's one of the odd things about watching cycling. I can pick Bauke Mollema out of a helicopter shot of a peloton instantly by his ungainly style, but if you showed me a photo of his face I'd have to think about it to recognise him. And he's pretty well known compared to a Wisniowski.

Re: Team Sky Discussion thread

Kwiatkowski and Landa both flying this year after poor first year's at the team. Sky's training methods do seem to take a while for riders to get used to.

Also nice to see them winning some different races this year other than the usual Paris-Nice, Dauphine, Tour streak. Sanremo, Strade Bianchi and San Sebastian all thanks to Kwiato.

Luke Rowe is set for a significant period off the bike after suffering a broken leg.
Luke has sustained fractures to his Tibia and Fibula and, now recovering back in Cardiff after surgery, he explained the circumstances behind his injury.

"My brother Matt is getting married and so I was away with family and friends for his ‘stag party'.

"On the first morning we went whitewater rafting. I jumped down into the water but landed in a shallow section on my right leg.

"Being a bike rider you get in a lot of scrapes and you get used to injuries, but I knew straight away that it was a bad one.

"The team have been brilliant. Dr Usher came out straight away to oversee my treatment and to get me back home, where I've seen the specialists and had surgery.

"It's been a big shock and I know I've got a long period of recovery ahead."

Luke’s coach, Rod Ellingworth, said: "Obviously it's a serious injury and so Luke's going to be off the bike for a while.

"An injury like this is a test of character for anyone, but character is something Luke has plenty of.

"He’s a really important part of our team and, as a team, we'll be right behind him throughout his recovery."

Looking ahead, Luke said: "The support I’ve had from the team and specialists has been fantastic and I know I'm in the best possible hands.

"It's early days, but speaking to the surgeon about the injury and my rehab gave me confidence so now it's a case of working towards getting myself back on the bike.

"I'm determined to get back racing as soon as I can."
