The Froome TUE was described as backdated rather than fast tracked - or am I imagining it?
It was definitely changed. (The quote makes a lot less sense in it's current form).TailWindHome said:The Landis interview. Did anyone else read it before it was edited at 18.12GMT?

Given that it's a direct quote that's a big breach of journalistic ethics from Benson.
samhocking said:Variable n = Doping Dr/Staff whoever you think is the reason for success
Event A - 10 years Track Success
Event B - 2 Years Road Success.
Same rider, same key staff same success despite variable n existing or not.
The nearest anyone has got to answering is that Track cycling simply doesn't count and variable n isn't required. I argue it is and BC are doping on the track or not doping on both. It can't be a mixture of both when Brailsford & Wiggins exist as the success in both concurrently at the same time often in the same year. (Olympics, Worlds & Tour)
Do you think a journalist correcting factual errors in a direct quote is OK then?Benotti69 said:Criticise Benson and his journalistic ethics, who is only a 'messenger', but defend a doping team......hmmmmmm

But it is a quote. Changing quotes is unethical in journalism. The quote must stand by itself. If it is incorrect, it shows us Landis's level of knowledge.Benotti69 said:Corrected being the operative word. An error was corrected.
that's exactly the problem.Parker said:But it is a quote. Changing quotes is unethical in journalism. The quote must stand by itself. If it is incorrect, it shows us Landis's level of knowledge.
Benson is not Landis's PR representative. You complain about British journalists not asking the right questions, but here is Benson writing the answers.
That's because I know that they do ask the questions. (But unlike Benson, they don't make up their own answers.)sniper said:you don't complain about British journalists not asking the right questions, yet here you are nitpicking on Benson.
thanks for proving my point.Parker said:That's because I know that they do ask the questions. (But unlike Benson, they don't make up their own answers.)

Name one that got sent home.Digger said:they don't - the ones who do get ostracised and sent home from the tour. Brailford then contacts the editor to complain.

right, difficult to ignore the other part of digger's post.Parker said:Name one that got sent home.
No. But I know a guy who hosted press conferences. He said there were a lot of questions about doping. He was surprised.Benotti69 said:Got a link to British JournalistS asking doping questions?
But you said someone got sent home from the Tour. Not threatened with it. Journalists routinely get threatened. They shake it off.Digger said:I could name one, not kimmage or walsh, who was threatened by his editor to write positive Sky or come home from the tour.
Parker said:No. But I know a guy who hosted press conferences. He said there were a lot of questions about doping. He was surprised.
No he knows quite a lot about it. He hosts many sports.Benotti69 said:The guy knows nothing about professional cycling then. But no link to these press conferences full of media asking doping questions?
he didn;t get arsey with journos because they were being dicks.Parker said:But you said someone got sent home from the Tour. Not threatened with it. Journalists routinely get threatened. They shake it off.
I don't doubt that Brailsford got arsey with a lot of journalists. Journalists aren't angels. They can be dicks too. Or did I imagine Leveson?
