I'm never sure what we are meant to think of Henao. Obviously, as a Sky rider he is one of the 'bad' dopers but as a Colombian he is one of the 'good' dopers? Is anyone able to clarify for me whether I am allowed to like him?

I think Landa proves that anyone leaving Sky automatically becomes a bad doper, although moving to Astana would make you the worst possible doper ever.

Ever.

Any doper coming to Sky is automatically cleansed in the refreshing handwash of marginal gains.

I wish I could understand what you meant. Landa has not even joined Sky yet, what's this about him leaving them?

Sorry, that explains nothing. Try rephrasing your original post so that it makes sense. Not trying to start arguments, I just want to understand what point you are trying to make.

we must agree that his "indipendent altitude testing" whatevs.. was a bit fishy
we know the old Sky narrative "we are clean, we dont cheat, blah blah..." ok ok

anyway, yes, as soon as he joins another team, that mishap will be forgotten and everybody will glady cheer for him, not only because he´s colombian but because he left the bad team
:D
ok ok I am exagerating a bit

re Chaves
he´s young, he hasn´t got weird altitude blood values, HE IS SOOOO CUTE OH MY GOD, look at that smile!
so cheering for him is allowed
the Alberto fangirls band on twitter love him ;)

I like him, he´s got panache and he´s maturing. some of his performances at the Vuelta have been questioned but until now he seems fine (I said "fine", not "clean")

I dont remember if Julien Pretot or Alexandre Mignot tweeted about Tom Dumoulin: "imagine twitter if he was riding for Sky"
:D

Re: Sky

I wonder why people are so bothered about Walsh.
he´s there for the UK fans, for the believers, for the marginal gains fans. not for the forum/clinic.
ignore him, ffs, consider yourself superior, take for granted that his narrative must not bother you.

Landa has joined Sky.

In an interview with a Basque newspaper, Mikel Landa confirms he will ride for Team Sky in 2016 and will lead the team at a Grand Tour

Obfuscation.

We all know this but technically he is still on Astana's books so has not joined Sky yet. It's the mention of him having left Sky which I was querying.

Interesting. Perhaps that helps explain why these discussions go the way they do.

If Landa was riding for Sky, Walsh would have no issue with him. Sky are cleans.

If Landa left sky and was riding for Astana, Walsh would paint Landa with the "Astana is dirty brush", based on his actual words that "he does not enjoy or believe what he is seeing".

See this constant referral to a single tweet IN A RESPONSE TO A QUESTION where he said he was uncomfortable with the Astana performance, considering they had narrowly escaped being thrown off the world tour, even citing is an example of Sky bullying, is completely over the top. Especially considering what Kimmage/Vayer/Tucker tweets.

A staggering example of double standards.

Would have been easier if you had said that in the first place. I am not David Walsh and I have never defended him so the point is invalid, sorry.

I fully understand that. that´s the way Walsh thinks/talks

but do we need to care? why people dont ignore him? instead of pointing at his every word?
well, every member is different so anyone listens and cares about what one wants.
but it seems so strange getting so mad about some British journo blindly in love with his fav team (in love, well paid, etc etc)

Trust me. I don't make comics unless I think it's funny, to share the funny.

If I was mad I'd be raging on Twitter or something, and posting hatefulness.

I don't get mad, or hate anyone or anything.

As for your implication that I censor myself, well we'll just have to let that sit and fester all on its own, won't we?

If someone can seriously post something like this:

Bernie's eyesore said:
I'm never sure what we are meant to think of Henao. Obviously, as a Sky rider he is one of the 'bad' dopers but as a Colombian he is one of the 'good' dopers? Is anyone able to clarify for me whether I am allowed to like him?

then I feel the conversation about bad or good dopers using Walsh's logic fits perfectly.

You are more than welcome to disagree.

fine, I think Bernie was sarcastic about that. Walsh seems to be serious about that, he means it.

I wasnt following the clinic that much in 2013 so I dont know what people were saying about Uran and his 2nd place at the Giro, so I cant compare the fans point of view about him to the one about Henao (always pointing that Uran never was flown home for some altitude testing)

I notice that neither the Henao study results, nor Froome's test results are published.

*crickets*

does anyone still believe we would see them?
does anyone believe they publish anything we can trust?
the only one who could be trusted in reading these results, if they publish, would be Antoine. when he reads, comments, analyze, then I´ll listen.
but that wont happen, cause they wont publish them

sky has lost any credibility, so there´s nothing they could do to get it back.

but this wont stop me cheering for them. where would the fun on this pages be without them? :D

What does this actually mean? Do you ever read what you write to check if it makes sense?

Walsh has done what he's always done. Write poorly written books. It's only when he shafted his researcher that he lost the quality parts of his books. You'd think Sky with all their money good at least get him an editor or someone to do some very basic fact checking.

The Sky fans did disappear although I got accused of not actually reading the book, it was a lifeless comeback.

Walsh just laid it all out there, reversing, changing his logic applied to Armstrong that he applied to Froome. Not being aware of Froome asthma, making basic mistakes on years, tour details and ignoring power numbers etc.

He was even so stupid to compare Froome's Ventoux time to Mayo's ITT in attempt to play it down that it wasn't as *** as it was.

Why is it nonsense? Look at Millar, JV, CVdV, GH et al still making a fine living out of cycling, whereas Ricco is castigated, Kohl castigated, Jascke castigated..........it is not nonsense.
