Does Pidcock need to be in this thread? Or is the fact that he was/is a phenomenon before joining joining Ineos make it inherently above board that he can sprint with the wattage freaks while climbing with the climbers, etc?

For those who are Pidcock fans and sensibilities are upset by such a question, I tend to be pretty skeptical whenever I see somebody being able to do it all.

Maybe no one's gotten around to including him yet? I've haven't seen him race enough to include him. I know he was a good sprinter before (so strictly talking about sprints I may not), but climbing would.

I think his U23 Giro performance is the only indication he can climb with the best really and that's not the best indicator of longer-term GC type climbing potential really at WT level. His sprint is ok, but only at the end of tough single day races where the wattage sprinters are not going to be or if they are, more equalised. Like Remco, we won't know his climbing ability until he actually gets to lead a GT which at the moment won't be Pidcock's objective. I think his first objective is to hold Road, MTB & CX Worlds Jerseys all in the same year. Then he said he might look at GC.

Wigan is trolling us. He's setting up a Tour de Force. Basically go out and stay with them in France and ride with em. Will cost a shed load but he can sit and bathe in the dribble of the sychophants. Who can blame him when he's brassic?

The troll part? It's set up by a company called pollen hahaha class.

ok, far from Europe. sure it´s far from here. from those on here that are in Europe. remote from here. because it´s far. but he didnt travel in a remote place for him. he travelled HOME. it´s very subjective I know.
"look at Bernal, training far from Europe and his team"
"well, you know, he is at his home, that happens to be in Colombia. and yes, there´s an ocean between here and there. I hope he´s not very jet-lagged when he flies here from his home"

ps. his ADAMs must be updated as he, and the other riders, must do it in advance.

Out of competition testing is a joke right now. You can even skip out on those test. 3 strike rule, pfft. Look at the British woman that skipped out on 3 tests and was not sanctioned.

if they race they go too fast, dopers! if they don´t race they hide. dopers! it´s useless to argue with some ppl on here. it´s not Bernal´s fault if he plays by the rules and you don´t like the rules. "OOC testing does not work" well, blame Wada and Uci, instead of gratuitously point the finger at Bernal and his "remote" training place that happens to be his home.

Maybe you check the figures for OOC testing before making sweeping statements.
OOC testing is a joke. Skip test to your hearts content. What's going to happen? The violators will walk with some bogus excuse. Talk to Armistead, Longo, Froome, Cavendish or Farah (who incidentally won 2 gold medals in London 2012 after his misses). They will tell you how to get away with skipping tests. Those are the ones we know about since the data is not made public.

Are you privy to the 2020 and 2021 numbers? They are not posted on WADA's website. We know very well OOC testing was way down in 2020. Reported to be down about 90%.

"The CADF 2019 business report, which was published on Friday, revealed that 7,629 out-of-competition tests were carried out on behalf of the body in 2019. In-competition testing brought the overall total of samples collected to 14,333

6,721 out-of-competition tests were carried out on professional male riders (3,297 urine tests, 3,251 biological passport tests and 173 other blood tests). The CADF carried out a further 3,222 in-competition tests on male professional riders, for an overall total of 9,943 tests.

The CADF noted that it had collected a total of 2,200 samples in 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic interrupted the season, including 1,250 out-of-competition controls."

I would expect they are testing more this year. That doesn't change the fact that you can skip out on test with zero penalty.

You've changed your narrative from a lack of OOC tests to skipping OOC tests without penalty Of course OOC tests were down for around 6 months of 2020 because we are in the middle of a pandemic - It's not just the CADF who conducts tests on cyclists - There are a range of bodies that also conduct doping tests like NADO's.
