Looking at the clip shown on.oprah from 2005 where lance says that ferrari through nutrition and sports science helped a lot of.people.win clean, in.what ways does that differ.from what bailsford says about.kerrison?

Ok so kerrison is not a doctor. He's not tainted. im not saying its anywhere near as bad but i think.there are some.clear.similarities.

And more.importantly bailsford says kerrison works.because these non.doping tricks.never existed before.so sky.got the only advantage
but wait. 7 years ago lance was already talking about using these non.doping advantages, are we really to believe no.one did it for another 7 years until.kerrison came along?
yes, we are to believe that. I'm sorry you don't believe.

what I don't understand is why some posters believe it when jonathan screams it of the rooftops, but not when brailsford says it.

what's your take on that?

This made me smile. An update on the UCI website in relation to the new doping helpline.

UCI anti-doping Helpline +800 8884 8884
17.01.2013 Replace the + by the code to leave your country
(for example the number if you are calling from Great Britain would be 00 800 8884 8884)

This is what a period of time at Sky does for your love of questions about lance.

In fact it makes you sound just like the man himself, doesn't it?

"f*ck off, seriously f*ck off if you're asking about this.
... just f*ck off.
.... where's alessandro,
oi! oi! allie, can you get him away please, he's just asking about lance, please get this guy away, he just wants to talk about lance.

[.....]

no you can't, f*ck off!"

Looks like the team docs need to alter his steroid regime. Nasty bout of roid rage.

The baton has been handed on. Let the legend continue.

Well Sky are clean now in my books. Lance said so. Cycling clean 2006 onwards.

The passport really works.

I was in doubt but until Lance told me, now I believe

LOL all that 'Sir" BS. Sounds so stupid. Athletes should not be made idols.

I too can't stand the Sir stuff, but I am from a different culture, there is no doubt something I don't get about it. I also find it strange that they don't say Sir Jimmy Saville anymore, he's just as much a Sir as Brailsford, Hoy and Wiggins.

I thought this was old news too?

I think its a bit different from the news a couple of weeks ago: then he was giving up Sky (or News Corp) was giving up on him but he was still going to have a role in British Cycling ie Track. Someone (forgotten name) from the Track was going the other way (no stories about him yet, but give the Clinic time!)
But this seems to supplant that news.
Makes sense though, especially if you read what Victoria Pendelton has to say about him.;)
Hope his own heath is ok and its just part of British Cycling jettisoning people from the past with possible doping connections.

Strictly untrue - A knighthood is a 'living' award, and strictly ceases to exist upon death - it's why you can't posthumously strip a knighthood - the continued use of the 'Sir' after death is simply a convention of respect - one that has notably started to not apply to Savile.

Historically, sporting 'sirs' were a very rare bunch, and almost NEVER while still in active competition - Roger Bannister, Bobby Charlton, Alf Ramsey, Matt Busby, Chris Chataway, Jack Brabham, Stanley Matthews, Stanley Rous, A few horsey folk.

In the late nineties this began to change, and sports knighthoods came in a bit of a flurry - a dose of lifetime achievement style awards, like Mary pters, but still mainly for the newly retired - Kelly Holmes, Steve Redgrave, Matthew Pinsent, Tanni Grey Thompson.

an exception was Alex Ferguson, who was still slap bang in the middle of his career -and that set a bit of a trend which came to a head with Chris Hoy's triple gold knighthood while still active since then Wiggins, Ben Ainsliee, Sarah Storey have had the same - it's an archaic and anachronistic award system - but GB is an archaic and achronistic country.

Around about the time Sky blew up the tour I was curious about Sky's dominance but in recent months with the deck chairs being rearranged on the Titanic, Sky have given off every impression to me of a team with something to hide. Wiggins is going to come increasingly under the microscope and already Kimmage appears to have him in his sights. Pre tour I would have been suspicious of Wiggins now I have moved much further down the road.

Whether Wiggins likes it or not, the fact that he is a tour winner and because of the manner it was achieved he will be under constant scrutiny this season both in action and in words. How will he handle this, he seems to get very agitated under pressure? If the scrutiny becomes too much I suspect Bradley might call it a day.

You know nothing!:p
Editor in chief???:p:p
Brad is quite enjoying the limelight: loads of money to be made there if he keeps his image tuned in to the younger generation.
So when he's effing and blinding, thats not weakness, thats marketing.
He's a British athlete going after olympic glory...the road & tour are interesting divergences.
He'll go on the road to Rio, and he won't be taking Bob or Bing for company!

Now that Ligget and Sherwin are available will Sky give them a job? They'd be right at home spewing about Sky. Would hardly have to change the script.
