Based on your reply about "robust", it was not at all clear you read the article. Para. 4, 2nd sentence.
This is a friendly note - it doesn't look to me like DW regarded the "slip" comment as humor. And DW didn't need to respond with something that could be seen as using prohibited language. I could regard both posts as inflammatory and delete them with an infraction. I'm giving benefit of doubt, and hoping we can tone it down a bit.

Have to say, I'm definitely in the sky is doping camp after weighing up the arguments, but, certain people and their attitudes on this forum have made it almost unreadable. Well informed, informative posts are just clouded by the absolute drivel posted by people like the hog and dear wiggo. As an Aussie, I can quite clearly see an agenda of just dig the Brits at any opportunity which is exactly what they do. It's embarrassing, sad and unfortunately is the attitude of many of my countrymen on this forum and otherwise.
Well done to those of you who have contributed to a valid and important discussion. I just can't read this forum anymore.

I think we have been strangely fortunate. We see in the tweet a glimpse of the enemy's plan. Bailsford moves to strike on Bastille day. The defeat at Pais Vasco showed our enemy one thing. He knows the heir of Lucho Herrera has come forth. Other cyclists are not as weak as he supposed. There is courage still, strength, enough perhaps challenge him. Bailsford fears this. He will not risk the cyclists of the peloton uniting under one banner. He will raze Tenerife to the ground before he sees a king return to the throne of Men. If the VAM records of Ventoux are lit, The Clinic must be ready for war.

I think they've given up hope at trying to be logical when faced with a barrage of the repeated rubbish that is froome's supposed climbing potential from a few years ago, warming down, working "harder", marginal gains, "they've lost a race how can they be doping" , the numbers aren't "inhuman" like amstrong and pantani etc.
I think it's probably sad that I cant name one major argument that the opposition has that makes sense to me. " You ain't got no pancake mix" just doesn't cut it for me.

All joking aside, a Cycling doping drama would make such a good HBO show! so many angles to take.

xcleigh said:It's a shame that you do see 'them' as the 'opposition'. 'They' are simply people who have an opposing opinion or simply take a neutral position to others on whether Sky dope. Many simply haven't definitively decided one way or the other.
Even very pro-sky posters if they exist (skybots/fanbois etc..) I think would agree that they want the sport they enjoy to be clean. The fact they aren't vehemently calling Sky out as blatant dopers doesn't preclude them from wanting a clean sport. Being a Sky supporter doesn't automatically make one a supporter of doping.
I remain reasonably wary of sky but not enough to say absolutely they are doping (I wouldn't bet my house on it!). I would like SKY and all other teams to do far more than they currently are to at least give confidence to us fans that they are competing cleanly.
How nice would it be to see the performances we are seeing, achieved by clean cyclists and have confidence in proclaiming those performances as clean.
armchairclimber said:My mistake, it was from memory. I think Salazar actually did say 51-52 seconds...but the point is the same.
"Farah says he suffered in those final metres in South Korea because he had a "lack of confidence and a lack of understanding" about how to handle a sprint finish. "Now we are doing a lot more work with weights, trying to become more explosive." When he lost to Jeilan, Farah's final lap took 53 seconds. He says he will need to do it in "51 or 52 seconds" to win gold in London." Quote from BBC.
