It was...no names but it seems it is the way of things on here:( And I wasn't completely comfortable moderating on it but as a new mod I'm trying to keep every fraction happy. There isn't a lot of middle ground in this thread. You would be surprised, as I was/am about the number of complaints that are sent.

It was that Susan stirring the pot the other day!

I just cannot see Stannard being dirty. I just cant.

Thomas, maybe,

Little Pete, Nah cant.

BUT

That can all change for the latter two if they are weak, mentally.

Next season is going to be very intesresting. I jsut hope the Dawg isnt kept on a leash like he should be. If he isnt he could blow the whole thing open for Sky.......

If people want me off the Sky threads I'll refrain from posting to them. But it's my feeling after what we saw in 2012 that Sky at minimum are suspicious. Is it not fair that I shouldn't write that I'm skeptical? and throw in some humor to keep the debate flowing?

Your contribution to this thread has been invaluable Hog. Insightful and humourous, controversial at times, yes, but generally speaking some interesting posts even if i wouldn't endorse everything you say. Please do not refrain from posting on Sky related threads, the counter balance you provide is important in the overall context of the debate, besides, alot of these threads have been highjacked by gung ho Wiggo/Alien union flag waving jingoistic fanboys and it needs someone to shut them up.

Clinic quote of the year by some distance: "I smell Ferrari" :D

Worst quote of the year IMO...stupid stupid stupid......and Wiggins is not that, whatever you think of him.
As for "someone needs to shut them up"..... I guess that shows how open your mind is to the opposite points of view.
I enjoy lots of the banter and argument, but the Hogs posts are way over the top, and I still wait for any of them to be backed up with a reference.
He's let shaming Lance go to his head, I'm afraid

Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau
Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand
To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands

The nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
You see a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you got words

When you've finished with the mop then you can stop
And look at what you've done
The plateau's clean, no dirt to be seen
And the work it was fun

The nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
You see a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you got words

Well the many hands began to scan around for the next plateau
Some said it was in Greenland and some say Mexico
Others decided it was nowhere except for where they stood
But those were all just guesses, wouldn't help you if they could

The only stuff i picked up after extensive searching was that he dropped out of school, joined a french cycling team (as DW and you mention) and worked in sales/marketing etc for a french perfume company. And that's where the remarkable story of the man behind the British Cycling Success finishes. Until he pops up to be the brain behind the successes.

His dad lives in Briancon, I believe he raced around there. He worked for PlanetX and was also team manager for the Muddy Fox road team (consisting of 1 rider, John Herety!). Like all people associated with Sky, their history gets more embellished as time goes on.

Hi Mr Hog,

I was only responding to the number of complaints we received today (it is not the mod's opinion necessarily when we post). Please do not stop posting with your insights (or not);).

Thank-you. If you'd like me to stop I will.

In other olympic news, London games made a ton of money and the UCI is set for a windfall profit.

We know that Pat and Hein are about revenues first, then revisit my crackpot theory that the UCI assisted Sky in making the fairy tale of 2012 come true. They'd do it for a few million bucks just like they did it with Wonderboy.

Now, is that exactly the sports fraud story that breaks? Probably not. Did the UCI assist Sky's pursuit of wins in 2012 in exchange for a bigger Olympics payout? Very likely.

And would you look at this! Not only is British Cycling (BC) reporting greater interest/cycling activity, but BC is looking for a bigger bid on the Tour of Britain.
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/tour-of-britain-organisation-put-out-to-open-tender

Oh, but the UCI assisting with the creation of the Sky miracle of 2012 is just crazy talk! Crazy I tell you!!! Per the other thread, I pick World Cycling Productions as the winner of the bid.

Please don't. This place would be worse off without you regardless what some others might say;);).

Thanks. I get the feeling people don't want me 'talking'.

I'm cool to tone down the dial if needed. But thanks for the comments.

I think the forum is excellent. There's views across the entire spectrum which all can express without vilification.

So which specific mountains will you 'not believe' ? because i,m sure come the early races you will have your excuses ready. Can we have more specifics from you in what you will and wont believe Stannard is capable of ?

Not the UCI but ASO designed the 2012 Tour for Wiggins because they desperately needed to boost overseas TV sales. French TV viewing figures have been in freefall for years even though Voeckler managed to boost them a bit this year.

Errr, didn't go according to plan, then:
http://inrng.com/2012/07/tv-audiences-bike-sales/

Also, define years. This is 2007 compared to 2006:

The core audience in France rose 6 per cent, said TV station France 2. Plus, new for this year, the lucky French get to watch their national Tour in high-definition…if they have HD-TVs of course. Apparently, you could see every hair on that now-famous Golden Labrador…

no offence caused. I am about truth, and would like to expose that to genuine fans. Not a partial fanboi. Dont want individuals harmed.

If people, Vaughters et al think I am full of BS. Lets hear it, lets have it out

I tend agree. The folling quote rings true in such situations. But we shouldn't take Miller and Vaughters word for it. They're compromised and have vested financial interest in the fans believing they're clean.

I would agree that testing should be the definition of riding clean or not. But from the USADA report and countless cases we know testing doesn't mean a lot.

Dope testing at times does catch athletes doping but its still only those too stupid to dope properly.

20 years of cycling has shown us testing alone is not going to show much. WADA, the Federations and even the UCI have said they need law enforcement agencies to help them.

I know a lot of people want Sky to be clean. Just like many did with USPS and T-Mobile. USA, Germany and now UK. National teams competing at the Tour.

I wish people would trust their own eyes more. After seeing what we saw and if you've watched cycling for at least 10 years you know what was up.

I'm not here to burst anyone's bubble but I have to laugh and joke about Sky. They are too funny for words and watching it pan out just like USPS in 1999 is even funnier.

My sadness is still for Richie Porte. He needs to be saved and I wish they protect him. Super talent that guy. He's caught in a world now that he'll never get out of. If you want to see GT potential - then he is it. Not Froome.

It was a joke, for f*** sake.

And for the record, the only time I've noticed you before you were, for reasons best known to yourself, hurling offensive insults at me which you then deleted.

so you can safely assume I'll not be taking you under my notice.

Now p!ss off.

Ms Westermeyer

Could you please enlighten me as to why I was banned for a number of days in relation to the Sky thread, while a number of the instigators of the exchange were clearly not?

Clearly, if I am going to be treated in a discriminatory manner henceforward, I would be forced to reconsider my membership of this forum.

yours

Those are the guys who trained in Tenerife, yes. Kiry is probably replacing Rogers' role, and might actually be even stronger.

I don't think they'll continue training in Tenerife though.

It's obvious Riis played a cool hand of Poker to secure Rogers. He knew Sky weren't admitting to doping. So he played his card and secured Rogers.

Riis has admitted to his doping along with Contador.

Now with Roche who is a anti-doping advocate and Rogers they can take Saxo and Contador to knew places in 2013.

I think Sky are finally paying the price for lack of full disclosure on their doping especially with Yates.

Saxo are obviously upfront with any doping histories in their team.
