Brailsford also said if he knew then what he knows now about Leinders then he would not have went anywhere near him. Then he says 'the truth is not that important'. !

Just to be clear, can you provide a link to where he uses those exact words, seeing as you've put them in quotation marks

Brailsford is now in a tough place.

Part of it's his own making, for doing idiotic things like hiring Geert Leinders, Sean Yates et al and thinking nobody would ask any questions. But part of it is something that's simply the result of where he now finds himself. He's been mighty successful over the last couple of years, and finds himself at the top when the biggest doping scandal the sport has seen hits.

The problem he now has is that whether he has skeletons in his closet or not, the people at the forefront of the sport are now being asked questions that there is no right answer to.

He is indeed. He sold himself to the devil (the UCI) and is comprised in everything he does from here on end.

What Sir Dave is saying is that it's all well and good knowing how these guys doped but if you do nothing with that information then what was the bleeding point?

How many times do I have to point this out?

"Sir" Dave is pretending that he doesn't know what the need for the Amnesty & T&R is. There is a very salient, urgent and pressing bleeding point.

Read the link posted by Weenie Beenie on the other thread then tell me Brailsford doesn't know.

I think what he’s saying is “I don’t want to know”. Because 10 years from now the same question will be asked of his 8 time winning Tour teams.

I find Brailsford very shifty. He hasn’t been around road cycling enough to know.

Its always the Anglo Johnny come lately teams messing with the sport.

Omerta?

Funny, to me it sounds remarkably like a hard-core Clinic posters response to anyone who has "confessed", or claiming to "have ridden clean".

Not good enough, needs to name names, round them up, break the ring.
Take affirmative action: the Clinic mantra.

Either the Clinic has been preaching Omerta all along, or once again it's a case of debunk by means of micro mis-analysing, the message, then shoot the disliked messenger.

This is it, anybody else making that same statement by Brailsford would be ignored. I suppose Brailsford should be flattered that everything he says is analyzed to a ridiculous extent and then deliberately misinterpreted as per usual to suit the needs of the clinicians.

I must have been dreaming when I watched the likes of Pantani, Riis and Indurain flying up hills on EPO

He claims he would have employed Leinders had he known his background. A T & C might just allow the backgrounds of others to be more known and therefore not employed by teams in the future.

Yes you were dreaming. You’re still dreaming as you haven't understood the context of my post. That’s ok. I didn’t expect that you would. I generally post for the post graduate types on this forum.

I’ll dumb it down for you; What I was stating was that Brailsford has not been in the Pro Road cycling for long enough and seen the history of the sport to be telling the sport “not to speak about doping past”. Brailsford has only been kicking about since 2009. He wasn’t around during Festina or Armstrong. It’s not for him to be making this decisions or statements.

Brailsford is the DS for the biggest team in pro cycling, whose man won the TdF last year, so it definitely IS for him to be making statements. Just not this one, at this critical time.

He's in effect lined himself up with Pat McQuaid, Bugno et al when all the serious people with cycling's future hopes are saying, no BEGGING, for the opposite.

Is everyone blind?

Funniest thing I have read today, I see you more as the message board idiot.

Why get personal? I've reported this post to the moderators for offensive and personal remarks.

Why not just discuss the issues at hand? Instead of trying to be cruel and hurtful?

Please respect others. I won't ask again.

Sky the biggest team? Ha! Based on what?

I’m sorry but they’ve been around since 2009 and Brailsford is telling us we shouldn’t be talking about an era that he wasn’t even involved in!

Its none of his business to be honest. He should stay out of this.

Wow! A reply. Based on their present success Hog. Obviously.

"He should stay out of this"? Are you being deliberately provocative? Brailsford could be making helpful statements, should be making them IMO, not wilfully obstructive and unhelpful ones. I would see it as his duty to the sport to be helping WADA, USADA, CCN and the UCIIC to make meaningful progress to help clean up the sport. It's the most urgent thing on the table at the moment, and Brailsford is being a total t**t. IMO.

At this rate you will be opening threads about Sky, responding to them, quoting yourself in them and agreeing with yourself in them. With little interaction from anyone else.

Not only that, it seems you now want to moderate them as well.

Sure makes believing your own bu11$hit less challenging, I guess.

Cool your jets. No need to get too excited. Its only an internet forum.

If you’re Belgium you wouldn’t even know who Dave Brailsford is! Sky won the Tour. So what. That doesn’t constitute you to be the “voice of reason” for the crimes of doping from 1998-2009. Braislford has no business in that era. He’s a track head at heart and wasn’t a very good cyclist himself. He didn't even ride at the Pro level. What’s he doing telling everyone to “shut up and not talk about it” for? Bruyneel rode during those times and would be in a position to speak. Not Brailsford. After all Braislford hired Leinders - Who was head of the second biggest systematic team-wide doping program in Pro cycling! No wonder Brailsfords wants to keep it under the carpet!

Thanks Dave!

I’m sorry. Sky are a new team. Had a great 2012 but that’s not a license to shut down doping talk especially when there’s so many question about team Sky themselves.
