I thought the discussion was about Walsh being a sell out.

Walsh has addressed Wiggin's LA love comments in print already. Which has already been mentioned. Anything else to add on the subject?

I’ll think you find he didn’t address then. He asked about Landis. Nothing about being in love with Lance.

For Alex, a cherished memory from Saturday was when distraught and wasted Wiggins came over to him, put out his hand and said, "well done."

He told an interesting story about having to persuade Movistar to allow him train on his time trial bike. Feels they now understand why.

lollll. Movistar must be the most clueless team in the history of cycling. How did they even win anything before Dowsett taught them everything about marginal gains?

No, not marginal gains, time trial bikes. Did they even exist before sky came along?

He had to persuade Movistar. They had his biked locked up in chains. He wasn’t allowed to touch it. He couldn’t ride it at all. No team before Sky has ever used time trail bikes in training. Ever.

In pro cycling, the bigger you are (palmares, money, fame etc.) the LESS scrutiny you get. You get more time to stall dope control, more training away from prying eyes, more sponsors wanting you protected , more access to UCI with all that than has been shown to bring.
Dowsett is just another easy target, that's what annoys me about DW. March up to Contador, Wiggins or anyone else (add dozens) and call them out for what they said about LA in the past, and you are entitled to call out Dowsett in his finest hour. Don't? well then er ,don't...

I think you forget this from The Sunday Times piece.

Wiggins, who could have stayed clear of the debate, chose instead to run with the mob that attacked Landis, questioning the former Postal rider’s mental state and suggesting that only a crazed man would say the things Landis was saying. For someone watching from a distance, the obvious question was why would Wiggins, who most people considered clean, defend a cheat such as Armstrong?

Before Sky training on a TT bike was only allowed in a wind tunnel.

Walsh has called out and criticised Contador so I don't see where you're going with this one.

in politics they call it a dorothy dixer. it was the elephant in the room, and if it was not asked, that came with a subtext.

by offering him an out, they could conveniently tell the fanboi's that all was well in denmark.

its a farking disgrace with the way that the finger was pointed at armstrong. it is manifest hypocrisy like you will never see

This nails it on the head pretty well.

Again nothing in there where Walsh asks him why he loved Lance. Or Walsh making a statement like: “Bradley Wiggins who wants stated he loved Lance Armstrong….” rather he glosses over that and puts the boots into a 24 year old who got his start in cycling on Armstrong’s feeder team!

And yes. Who is this mob? From memory only Millar, Wiggins and Boogard said something about Landis. Wiggins was defending Lance pure and simple. Walsh knows it as well.

they all put the boots in.
but shock horror, all the garmin 6 month suspension over the offseason, no boots.

tweet tweet, bird chirping, chirping birds. no boots by wigans, millar, and cav.

the lot of them, dopers too.
there is nothing wrong with a doper per se.
there is everything wrong with a doper who happens to be a hypocrite.

Good to know that you never read the article:
“Lance was still a powerful figure in the peloton and it was just easier to say something that meant he wasn’t going to be on your case.

So are Walsh and Dowsett lying about Dowsett having to ask Moveistar to be able to train on his TT bike?
this is a landis talking point.

it is prolly true, but the dopers like to have convoluted little tales to justify their performances, not appreciating that these advantages are zero sum with everyone else pursuing said advantages.

nothing wrong with doping.

doping and lying on the other hand. thats a bad coupling.

Huh?

Why didnt Wiggins say nothing like 98% of the peloton. Instead vowels of love and including a forward in his first biography on Lance.

You really think Wiggins was just trying to keep Lance off his back?

You need to read more. Not just your Walsh articles.

School up lad.

Walsh's article on Wiggins and his tweeting ever since he joined Sky has been nothing short of a disgrace. And yes I have told him this privately. The conversations left me expaserated.
As regards Wiggins - he lay into Landis when he knew full well what the truth was. He could have said nothing if he really was afraid of lance. Also Wiggins can't be believed. His story changes almost daily.

As I understand it, after the frst team meeting Dowsett had to convince Movistar management to let take a TT bike home, so he could train on it. Rather than just his normal road bike.

Oh, please teach me - but remember, I wasnt talking about Wiggins (his only consistencey is that he inconsistent) but i was responding to your comment about Walsh:
"Again nothing in there where Walsh....".

Which was wrong.

Gee, it's almost as if there was an obvious follow-up question there that Walsh neglected to ask!

You mean like why he didn't just keep silent?

Very obvious follow-up question.
