Doesn't get better than this:Zam_Olyas said:Froome going all out would be really great. Like Sestrières Stage 9 would be wonderful ..will he be able to?
thehog said:I agree.
Their acting is terrible.
Get Daniel Day Lewis to teach them now to look tired.

Although I suppose at least missing it saved me from some serious anger.
Bernie's eyesore said:Geraint Thomas is improving his climbing ability by about ten percent every day. He has always been one of my favourite riders but that was ridiculous from him today.
Ripper said:Yes, I like G. I had been thinking he'd be outstanding in the classics if he could a) stay on his bike, b) improve his endurance, and c) stay on his bike.
But I also was watching and thinking ... OK, another Sky transforgmacation where someone can now climb the cols. Can't wait. It'll be a bunch of "he's got the talent because of track, he just has not focused on the road" BS.
Marginal. M M M Marginal Mar Gin Al There gonna a get ya.

I think one key fact will be just how much weight he loses. And if his TTing gets better. You are right that he has ability. The stage where he pulled Uran being a good example (I think someone else mentioned it) but I guess it's a case of wait and see.hrotha said:Thomas isn't suspicious for me, except by association. He could always climb at this level, except for last year, when he focused on the track. He put on a lot of weight, and he couldn't climb at all, but he did his best ITTs ever. Which is what you'd expect, contrary to some who allegedly drop tons of weight but improve their time-trialing and even their sprint.

The Hitch said:He may be just about at the limit of whats believable atm.
But, why do you think he was a good climber. At the tour when he got the white jersey in 2010 and said he wanted to defend it as long as possible yet lost it on the Station des Rousses stages where he bombed 4 minutes even though the stage was soft pedalled and not even that hard.

Thomas will climb better at the Tour.
GT is a better choice than Froome for the next Sky GT champion.
The Hitch said:Considering you have the worst record at predictions of anyone in the history of the internet, im not going to take your word for it.
Theres no reason why Thomas shouldnt be able to tt. Hes always been a good tter. Its the climbing that should raise 1 of your eyebrows.Ripper said:He did a pretty good ITT earlier this week. 10th, but only 50s behind Froome and closer to EBH and RP.
Let's just say one of my eyebrows went up.
