Froome is probably the most ridiculous rider/doper of all time. He's the ultimate challenge to the "clean generation" approach aswell as a spit in the face to fans of clean cycling and a fair sport. This does not of course makes him worse or better then any other doper.

OK so which clean rider was it that Froome cheated that all the others did not? Froome is not the "most" or "ultimate" of anything.............he is just doing what the others are doing.........his mistake was not starting as a junior like Contador

Meanwhile, the personal attacks continue adding absolutely nothing to the discussion. A reasonable end is agree to disagree and wait for further evidence.

What year is this again????

This^, I suggest people that have begun to throw insults and personal attacks at each other follow the bolded. Let's try to be a little more civil in debate.

Froome does have competition for that title though.

This year I found Majka pretty ridiculous. Imo he's too young to pull that off.

At least you admit that Froome is a cheater. Progress.

Cant answer that since i dont know who's clean or not (if any?). I've learned that the most healthy approach is to believe them all to be on something (and feel bad doing that).

The most tragic is that i am not sure those riding clean would be that great anyway. It takes a certain killing mentality to become the best in a sport.

Froome is not the "most" or "ultimate" of anything.............he is just doing what the others are doing

Froome is the donkey turned racehorse who they in the immediate post-Lance era tried to sell in as "clean". Its the ultimate insult to people who already have been down that road before. He is the embodiment of what is wrong with the sport.

........his mistake was not starting as a junior like Contador

I dont know when Contador started but i would generally say yes here. That is part of the problem. He is too unbelievable in a sport plauged with the lack of belief. Nothing personal of course, Froome could have been anyone.

What difference does it make? Everyone that dopes cheats clean athletes. Doesnt change the fact that Froome is the biggest fraud in cycling history.

But I am most curious as to why you no longer believe in unicorns.

You still haven't answered whether, since you see Wiggins as a tt specialist, him climbing mountains at EPO speeds and beating pure climbers like Nibali, is suspicious.

I don't have any suspicions with regard to the performance of Wiggins in either 2009 or 2012

I do reserve the right to change my mind at any point if new evidence emerges.

Interesting also just how few one day races Froome rides. 16 (inc worlds) in 4 years

Quality trumps quantity. He is the reigning champion in the Satsuma Classic. A real man for all seasons, winning in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

The other point arising from this, of course, is why he spent so much time in The Climb talking about the history of Paris-Roubaix (another race he has a 100% DNF record from, though to be fair he's only started it the once).

You wrote a whole book about the Tour de France and you haven't even started it.

You don't have to be good at something to like it.

(And anyway that section was clearly more Walsh than Froome)

#Consistency

Not really. He was nowhere to be seen this weekend, a couple of weeks after finishing 2nd in a GT. In 2011, he put in a monster shift at the head of the peloton, helping set up a victory for a team mate, a couple of weeks after finishing 2nd in a GT.

Book Doping

A clear books' gap is opening up between Team Sky and the rest of the peloton. Following the signing of Roche their current library on the Death Star now includes books by Wiggins (In Pursuit of Glory, On Tour, My Time, and The Official Bradley Wiggins Opus); Roche (Inside the Peloton); Froome (The Climb); and Ellingworth (Project Rainbow); plus The Pain & the Glory, 21 Days to Glory, and The Team Sky Way. No other team can boast such a volume of volumes in English. Nor, I think, in any other language.

What this is proof of I don't know. You decide.

It is continuing proof of a big market in Britain for autobiographies.

And also a healthy market for cycling books. Even glorified bloggers can get books released in the UK.

Nothing to do with Sky really. There's loads of books which have nothing to do with them.
