I don't think sky doping their riders will come as a surprise to anyone here.

You're gonna need a posting upgrade.

I understand that you feel a sense of rage that you were banned from Bike Radar and I understand that you see attacking me as some sort of outlet for your impotent rage.

Let it go.
You'll be happier.

You post a baiting post then faux outrage when someone doesn't bite. Tsk tsk.

No WE dont. WE like dopers like Stannard. WE need dopers like Stannard.

Match.

Do not troll when it is not needed. When your pants are wet because of a well deserved Team Sky win please just say so.

I don't even know if stannard is doping. Wiggins and froome are obvious. Porte, any real doubt there died when he started playing about and chatting on ax3 while every team leader of doped to the max teams were dying on their bikes several turns down the mountain.

Anyone else could he clean. There are some dodgy ones there like Geraint "can't they just leave lance alone" Thomas, but I don't want the trolls to distract from what they know to be shut and sealed cases against the big 3 by picking holes inthe cases against less ridiculous riders.

It's not really that hard to give a guy credit for a good race while keeping eyes wide open.

But, really, there are other forums for that, this is the only place where doping is discussed.

You know Ian Stannard is just his anglicised name right? His birth name is Jan VandenStanerdt. Proper hard man. Thought his chances today were scuppered by the fact it wasn't freezing cold and p*ssing with rain.

No idea about Stannard - know little about him.

But in a general sense I am sick to death of this attitude that he's a nice guy he wouldn't dope, or he's a nice guy he's clean - it's stupid. Some of the nicest guys you'd ever come across have doped. Nice has nothing to do with it.

The point I made yesterday though was in relation to Walsh - when we talked last about this, one point he made in defending sky, against my view, was how poor they were, relatively, in the classics - basically if they were doping why weren't they better in the classics - now firstly all you have to say to this is US Postal - but more than that, if they do start winning more classics, where does that leave his 'logic'...heads I win, tails you lose......

Walsh won an award last night in Ireland - he did excellent work for lance, even if he said recently he was 'obsessed with getting the story into the American sphere' - which means it wasn't anti doping per se, more agenda driven...which I understand of course, but let's call it as it is....
This btw is a guy who admitted to ignoring Kelly's pocket rattling with pills and who defended his positive and who defended PDM's intralipid affair....he did expose roche and conconi though in fairness. He has a strange relationship with it all - he goes through prolonged periods of 'fan with a typewriter' syndrome - wakes up for a few years, as evidenced by his comments on Rasmussen and contador (which directly contradict what he later said on froome) and then goes back to square one again.
Right now Walsh, to the general public, is synonymous with Lance....in years to come will he be synonymous with his work on sky/froome?....a Brendan Gallagher type figure - when I think of Brendan I think of the guy who defended lance to the very end and made a fool of himself...walsh is already ruined in the cycling community mind...I don't describe sky fans as cycling fan - they will go when the sh** hits the fan...

On the irish radio show off the ball in 2013 he went on and I know for a fact he got an overwhelmingly negative response from the listeners about his logic fail in defending sky.

David needs to accept one thing - he worked his a** off on lance...did great work...but he didn't bring lance down. Floyd landis did. No landis, then walsh could be writing books every year for the next 20 and it wouldn't have made a difference.

But back to sky and I have veered off track - I heard yesterday that a british cycling journo was seen lately riding his bike with team sky kit - and how cycling weekly had team sky covers for something like 12 weeks in a row last year...you think of the podcasts, blogs, magazines - I often wonder one thing...are they so blind they genuinely believe in sky or are they well aware but don't want to rock the boat of everyone feeding from the one trough?

There were a group of journos at a Sky training camp/media event.
BBCs Matt Slater was definitely one of them

All came back and printing idenitikit stories.

A well run clean team would also have a PR team too, so......

Oddly the logic on this forum is that a clean rider can't beat a doper.

Stannard yesterday beat every doper in the race, including a QS team so dominant that they put 3 men in a 4 man break with a card up their sleeve in the break behind.

What gives?

nice strawman, first of all. nobody will say it can't be done period.
But there is plenty of both anecdotal and scientific evidence that doping improves performances.
therefore, half-a-brain logic, not just on this forum, is that a clean rider, in percentages, and other things equal, is not likely to beat a properly doped rider.
We're used to you and people like Walsh suspending logic though when it comes to Sky.

Agreed. I believe All top professional athletes are the product of dope, even if they enter a few competitions "clean", they're still built from years of systematic doping starting at a young age.
That being said, Stannard won fair and square yesterday. Chapeau.

Edit: am I quoting a post that no longer exists? Where did that go..?

good post.

Yes, Walsh did good work on Lance, and he's also called out Contador, UCI/Pat, and other dopers/enablers. Lately Walsh was on twitter criticizing Seb Coe for his weak anti-doping response to Russia.
Walsh suspends his logic basically only wrt Sky. Wonder why.

As for journos in Sky kits: great tactics from Sky. They've taken PR to another level. They've learned a lot from US Postal mistakes. Credit to them for that.
