It's quite funny laughing at some of the ignorant comments on here about Thomas (from both sides of the argument).

Yeah it's crazy, cos everyone should know Brits don't dope (we even have a thread about it) and Sky are the cleanest team in the history of cycling

I just like to laugh at you. You are very funny.

I bet I laugh louder, longer and harder at TeamSky. They are very funny. :D

Another post completely unrelated to anything I have ever said in here, well done!

Laughing at what Matt Stephens(sp?) said regarding Thomas on today's stage with about 7km to go....

"Just think back to 8 weeks ago, he was thundering across the cobbles in the northern classics. He looks like a completely different rider now, still that same shape on the bike, but look at the tone and definition of his muscles, looks a lot lighter, look at the cut of his cheekbones, he's transformed himself into a climber now and equipping himself very well when you look at the difficulties that some of the classy riders behind him some of diminutive Colombians, some of the finest climbers in the world have not been able to stay with the pace at the front".

Like I wrote on the ToS stage 5 thread- I've always considered "G" a good climber, but what bothers me is the so called "SKY trade mark for shedding massive weight while increasing PTWR- in matter of MONTHS"...... Again I do actually like G a lot, but today was kind of strange to see him climbing that well among pure climbers..... ....... "Not Normal"
I like G too, and did not see today's stage but I had to do a double take when I saw the results sheet a little while ago. I agree, this is not normal at all.

Climbing to almost 2700 meters with actual 'climbers' and beating all but one is not just a red flag, it's a red flag with fireworks and very loud music, with the occasional punch in the face.

I guess G went there.... :(

Maybe you should try watching before commenting.

He finished 5th, not 2nd. He was beaten by a neo-pro.
Thank you, but I'll comment whenever and wherever I feel like it.

I was looking at the GC when I said 2nd, so I was wrong. He was 5th instead, but the point remains the same. G is climbing way faster than he should be.

"Geraint Thomas is future Tour de France winner, says Shane Sutton"

"It is probably three years in the making because Froomey is a very good bike rider and he is not going to go away for a while."
But Sutton added of Thomas: "He can time trial, he can descend, he can climb, he can sprint in small groups.
"He has the power and he has the engine to have everything that's needed to go out and win a Grand Tour."

Sounds like George Hincapie...

Re: Sky

Some Sky fans defend their riders like they can believe in anything, any transformation, any cleanliness. But the thing is they actually don't, they believe a lot of riders are dirty in the peloton, they hate many riders who are in fact not as much transformers as theirs. It's just Sky do what others don't and don't do what others do all the way.

Indeed. I often wonder why they're posting in 'The Clinic' in the first place - as in what was their motivation for coming here to defend? I feel as though personally for a lot of it is them not wanting to believe that there may be doping involved. They then become entrenched in their position, defend for quite some time, and then realise over time as a lot of evidence is provided (evidence - not proof) that perhaps they should back away quietly...

Nobody on this thread has said Thomas is clean since yesterday's ride. The obsession with these imaginary 'Skybots' keeping these threads alive are the funniest things about the clinic and the reason why this place has kept me entertained for so long.

Now there's a ringing endorsement but Thomas has always been in Sutton's clique.

If Thomas did win the Tour then he would be the third Brit to do so over a short period of time. 'Beacons of cleanliness', all three, triumphing in the face of all those naughty cheating foreigners.

Yeah, but the other guys don't belong to team who want us to believe they are clean in the face of hiring Leinders and it's all done on nice pillows and flavoured water. That's why the Sky thread is as big as it is.

I don't know about 'bots' and I've never used the term. But defenders of Sky are not so imaginary, except you imagine them to be so.

Made me laugh too. Stephens, probably without arealising it, was pretty much saying that Thomas is doped to the eyeballs.

I think Sky are using some weight loss ketones developed by UK sport that enables weight loss without power loss. Very expensive and not available to the general public. Not banned though.

The problem is that developing a new drug or product like that costs many, many millions to go through all the trialling and testing. Are UK Sport going to spend all that money just to improve a few cyclists - in the knowledge that it would probably be banned if the authorities found out about it? Very, very unlikely.

Re: Sky

People forget this stage was perfect for his skills. First half of the climb he could go steady with his MARCH Paris-Nice condition, then add his APRIL skills from steep cobbled hills with gradients similar to the mountain here and when the attacks came the intensity from his TRACK PURSUIT days.

It's just like in decathlon for instance. If you're good w the javelin spear, in the high jump, the 1500m and the 110m with the obstacles you will get a good result. It's not rocket science guys.

Didn't Dr Hutch allude to this in his book? A bit of cortisone probably helps as well ;)

If its UK Sport then it wont be confined to just Sky though will it, so it would be more than just a few cyclists.

Whatever. Olympic gold medalist, world champion and current world record holder in team pursuit. Rettenbachferner. I'm sorry, but it just messes with my cycling paradigms. Though I guess they've been in need of revision for a while now.

But I'm looking forward to seeing Lasse Norman and Rasmus Quaade dominating on L'alpe.

G is the new Froome who was the new Wiggins who was the new Armstrong. C'est la Vie.
