Can't say I know the youngsters, but a quick

google search revealed they are decent A-riders (top class in the non-pro class) but without top results in Denmark or at international level.

Have to admit I'm only a fan definitely not an expert.
Oh, hang on Rolf Sorensen just said on TV2S that Andy Schleck admitted he was dropped fair and square. So much for my conspiracy theories last night

Those guys are not as highly touted as some of the continental guys from Capinordic (Jonas Aaen, Nikola Aistrup,Troels Vinther Niki Ostergaard), Designa Kokken (Kasper Jebjerg and the former QuickStep pro Mads Christensen) and BlueWater (Andreas Frisch).

Soren Petersen has been around literally forever, as he's turning 42 later this season. He's been riding for Saturn as well at some point in his career.
The other guys are pretty unknown to me.

Not strictly anything to do with this thread, but certainly of Tour relevance, nevertheless.
On the 14 July stage to Issoudun and the stage in the Vosges hills of Alsace, there will be a ban on race radios.

I'm thinking:

Armstrong
Contador
Leipheimer
Klöden
Zubeldia
Popovych
Horner
Noval
Vaitkus

Team Columbia (riders not in order):

Rogers
Kirchen
Cavendish
Renshaw
Hincapie
Lövkvist
Hansen
Burghardt
Tony Martin

But then there is no room for Eisel, Monfort, or Siutisou

Garmin:

Vande Velde
Millar
Zabriske
Dean
Farrar
Lowe
Wiggins
Daniel Martin
Hesjedal

I think they will take the talented Dan Martin and obviously the TTT is a big goal so they have guys for that. I thought about Danielson but I don't think he will get picked.

Quick.step (Boonen won't be riding, yet!):

Chavanel
Devolder
Pineau
Barredo
Rosseler
Davis
de Jongh
Weylandt
Tosatto

I think it is fair to say I have way too much spare time on my hands. I would go riding but it is 8.10pm (AEST).

Van Avermaet will definetly no riding the tour as he 's a sprinter which is not lotto's goal. lloyd, lang and van den broeck are almost certainties. van summeren 50/50 for tour. don't forget phillippe gilbert whom cadel wanted in his team so will probably get the nod. possibly francis de greef (climber) and mikael delage who is a good worker in the flats. silence will be up their in the ttt with many good time trialists and the training team time trial camp.

De Greef most certainly not. He already finished the Giro this year, and for such a young guy it wouldn't be smart to burn him up completely working for Evans in the Tour. I think Vansummeren 95% sure of his spot. As far as Van Avermaet is concerned, it'll be him or Gilbert. The latter has already done the Giro and indicated that he was very tired, so I doubt he will want to ride the Tour as well. Especially since he's aiming at the worlds in Mendrisio, so I assume he's going to ride the Vuelta as preparation. With Aerts and Hoste out, I think Van Avermaet has a fair chance to make it into the squad. Which would look like:

Evans
Dekker
Lang
Wegelius
Vandenbroeck
Van Summeren
Lloyd
Van Avermaet
Cretskens (road captain)

The names on the list were confirmed by Belgian and Dutch newspapers. (Vansummeren, Greg Van Avermaet, Charly Wegelius and Cadel Evans) So it seems they will be riding the tour. And van Aevermat is a sprinter, but also one who can win, like freire, without a train. It makes sense to have someone in the team that can score a victory. Even/especially Silence Lotto.

van avermaet is no use to lotto with gc goals and will do a similar program to last year. e.g. vuelta/worlds. it's a shame de greef won't be riding be cause he can climb and that would be great help for lotto!

Why would Van Avermaet be of no use for Lotto?
He's not exactly a pure sprinter, more a Classics specialist that has enough of a punchy sprint to finish in a bunch sprint top 10 or beat everyone in a small escapee group. He doesn't require a train, and you'd think Evans already has enough mountain domestiques around him. With Van Avermaet there, Silence significantly increase their chance on a stage win, whereas they put everything on Evans, it could turn out to be a very disappointing Tour for them. It's a risk they just can't take.

HA, I was about to say the exact same thing :D. I still remember how he killed everyone in the Vuelta last year, so I guess they want to see how he can do on the highest podium. On top of that, a sprinter can still help out when the stage doesn't suit him...

You also need to have some good roleurs as well if your goal is to win, especially when you find yourself in the yellow at some point. Van Avermaet would be a great addition.
