Australian teams announced.

http://www.cycling.org.au/News/All-News/australian-team-for-2016-uci-road-world-championships

Zak DEMPSTER (VIC)
Rohan DENNIS (SA) - Time Trial
Luke DURBRIDGE (WA) - Time Trial & Road Race
Mitchell DOCKER (VIC)
Caleb EWAN (NSW)
Adam HANSEN (QLD)
Heinrich HAUSSLER (NSW)
Mathew HAYMAN (ACT)
Michael MATTHEWS (ACT)
Mark RENSHAW (NSW)
Is it just me, or is having Haussler and Matthews a bit redundant?

Haussler is the only one of their faster guys who can handle wind + the distance

A well rounded Australian team for the WC - Have no problem with Ewan making the distance - Was in the sprint finish of a 230km stage in the Giro - Reckon Dennis is the favorite in the Mens TT as he is better suited by the flat parcours.

Garfoot should medal in the Women's TT, now that she's back to full fitness, and Hosking must have a chance in the women's RR.

Doubt Australia has much hope in the under 23 races.

Norway seniors according to procycling.no

Alexander Kristoff (KAT)
Edvald Boasson Hagen (DD)
Sondre Holst Enger (IAM)
Sven Erik Bystrøm (KAT)
Vegard Breen (Fortuneo)
Vegard Stake Laengen (IAM)
Daniel Hoelgaard (FDJ)
Kristoffer Skjerping (CAN)
Truls Engen Korsæth. (Joker)

For TT I would guess EBH/Stake - Korseth reserve.

It's a strong team even if only the two at top is really well known.

It will apparently be official at tuesday, but I can't see who will be out. Skjerping did good in Alberta so looks like the form came at last.

One to go from that.

Strong team for the flat and if there is potential crosswind. Dowsett and Thomas to do the TT but no idea who the rider they leave out of the RR will be, one of Thwaites or Dowsett would be my guess.

A bunch of rouleurs plus De Kort to assist Groenewegen or Van Poppel in the sprint.

Boom should be the other if he makes something good in the next stages of the Eneco .

He don't want to go because he wants to prepare for CX. Boy van Poppel, Roosen or Leezer will be better options.

Today was probably the last chance for Kittel to impress? German coaches should opt for Greipel I guess.

Yea, i have dreamt about Greipel winning .. And im not German. I think he will take the right wheel as always, the wheel to victory is Kristoffs as usual. He starts his power sprint 50 meters before Degenkolbs, then Greipel wins in the the last 20 meters. Thats my dream.

And im usually right :D

Blythe has a very poor record of being able to finish races of 250k plus. McLay has only ever ridden one and was DNF. In contrast Thwaites is very good in the wind and has completed all his last 6 races of 250k plus inc, the likes of Roubaix, Flanders and last years Worlds. He can also serve as lead out if required, which is what he does for the Bora sprinters. Cannot see him being dropped out,

Let me guess , Niki Terpstra tries a 4 km breakaway in the end :D

Terpstra should be team leader anyway

Completely agree. Best one day racer easily trumps best stage race sprinter in a race like this.

Spanish preselection

Jorge Arcas
Carlos Barbero
Jonathan Castroviejo
David de la Cruz
Imanol Erviti
Omar Fraile
Gorka Izagirre
Juanjo Lobato
Luis Ángel Maté
Eduard Prades
Diego Rubio
Héctor Sáez
Alejandro Valverde
Fran Ventoso

As expected, quite weak for this kind of terrain. Looking forward for Erviti.

Last year at the nats after a hard race Terpstra even beat all these sprinters in a mass sprint

It's a pity that Tom Veelers is still injured, one hell of a leadout man.

Other options, Roosen, Sinkeldam, Boy van Poppel?
