Actually tennis has a very strict anti-doping rules. Apart from in-competition testing players must provide a location where they will be for one-hour for every day of the year for random testing. The WTA policy is available here: http://www.itftennis.com/shared/medialibrary/pdf/original/IO_61472_original.PDF
Some of my cycling friends work with the drug testing facility at a major tournament and accompany selected players from the time they finish a match until they are drug tested.

Rules are all well and good - if they're being applied! ;)

Nothing in that photo makes me think cheating it does make me wonder if she has enough fat to maintain her health.
For about 5 or 6 years my wife was competitively paddling outrigger canoes By the last year she competed her arms and shoulders were pretty impressive and at the end of her preparations for worlds in Hawaii she was as lean as I have ever seen her Totally ripped. I didn't mind the definition at all but since she changed to paddling her cycling muscles had shrunk to my disappointment.
Take away the fat and muscle is what shows. I think if you showed that photo to 100 young women most would stop playing in sport. It seems women think soft and smooth is more attractive than strong and athletic.

It's not about being lean. It's about being HUGE. Look at that picture, mate. That lad(y) is large and in charge. I'm sorry, but the first thing that pops into my mind is "sausage check" when I see that photo.

That's an action shot of Samantha, and the lighting is favorable. In other words, she wouldn't look that big if you saw her on the street. This doesn't exactly defy belief as to what's naturally attainable (with decent genetics, of course). Now - to be clear - I'm not saying she is natural, I'm saying that you can't possibly say otherwise based on a picture of her.

dont give us cr@p rational girl. This is what Zizek inverts Rummy tenet, into the unknown knowns.

Authorities know this, but orchestrate action so this does not damage the product eh.

Here, baseline not just Sam Stosur, but Li Na, then Dara Torres, Michelle Smith, and now all the Australian swimmers coming back, all these tennis players and other foreign swimmers were mediocre, Stosur never threatened til her physique was overhalled. Same with Na.

Now go and find pics of her as a 19 20 yo, and ask Victor Conte about the physical signs and physiognomy of visage, the subcutaneous red and whit tissue is a big giveaway, and the leanness and the growing bones, especially evident in the forehead. Then look at the increased athleticism. The Italian who beat SS @ Garros is a similar specimen but lithe whippet like.

Kim Clijsters doesn't look so buff at all and she's by far the best female tennis player these days.

Come on, she's ****ing massive. That is just way too large to be natural.

I thought the Brits were locking out the fat women tennis players league in having Naomi Cavaday and Elena Baltacha playing for us.

I might have to reassess this having read this thread.

I think Serena is done for. Plus I don't think she has beaten Clijsters since her come-back. Besides, she's everything but clean and could have died like VDB. Messed up ****.

All Im hearing here is "Clijsters is Belgian like me, Serena is not".

Serena came back from a long period out and got straight back into the Grand slam final in the US.

14 grand slams on all surfaces vs 4. Sorry Serena is better. I have no idea how someone can claim Clijsters is "by far the best female player these days".

Unless of course they get their tennis coverage from a patriotic 2 minute clip on Sporza

Because Clijsters is better these days. I'm not talking about ****ing 6-8 years ago like you are.

Clijsters came back from a 2 year retirement and won the US Open straight away beating the crap out of Serena Williams who had to resort to threatening to kill people after she lost .

Serena hardly had any decent play time last year because of her injuries, so yeah, she's not the best right now. Clijsters also had a lot of injuries last year, but she did win the Australian Open by beating the later Roland Garros winner. Why should we ignore injuries? They affect how you play, just look at Boonen. If we're just going to look at palmares than Boonen/Freire have by far the best classics palmares. Doesn't mean they're the best classic racers these days though. It's not like I said Kim Clijsters is the best of her generation which you seem to think

I'm just talking about after her come-back at US Open in 2009. She won 3 out of 9 Grand Slams since her come-back and the Masters.

Serena got beaten by Stosur. How she ever managed to win a Grand Slam is beyond me(Stosur).

Lets see she is 5 foot 8 inches and 140 pounds. There are a lot of photos of her that suggest she is a mesomorphic woman. She is simply not really as big as that photo might indicate. Yes bodies like that can be explained by drugs but there are very muscular women. As I said my wife got crazy big arms and shoulders when she raced outrigger canoes. I did see a couple of photos of her that made her look even bigger so sorry I am not a person to throw anyone under the bus because she looks too big in a picture. Sorry I don't want to jump on your bus but I think I will watch her a little more. I did date a woman that was into body building. I never though she was taking "supplements" but the size of her was unnerving. She could never get competition lean so I never saw her this ripped but she was bigger at 160 pounds. Even though I was 180 at the time she felt and looked bigger than me side most of my muscle is below my waist line. My legs might look so big and ripped if I could lose the fat.
I will admit from the photos of her that she has gotten more ripped as she ages.

lol, is that someone called El Pistolero arguing that if people dope their accomplishments are not valid????

Serena dopes so Kim> Serena. Ok then

Contador dopes so Andy Schleck > Contador

Same logic no????

And lol is that a Gilbert fan accusing athletes who havent tested positive of doping?

You are right no it doesnt.

Which is why Serena who was in a gs final 3 months ago is better than Clijsters whose last final was 12 months ago.

Btw in the hear and now Wozniacki and Zvonoreva and definately Li na are way better than Clijsters.

You do know kim isn't even in the top 10?

Do they not show the Clay court or grass court seasons in Belgium in order to make people think that Clijsters is " way better" than the rest of the field?

Because I dont see how else someone can reach that conclusion.

When you take so much crap you get a pulmonary embolism then there's something wrong with you. Though I never used that as an argument to say Clijsters is better than her. I threw it in here because it's the clinic and for me Serena is the most obvious doper with the female tennis players. I used actual evidence since her 2009 come-back to determine who I think is the best player.

It's practically impossible to test positive in tennis, so yeah, I'm going to have to accuse her without testing positive. Might want to think about that before you compare cycling with tennis again when it's about doping.

As for clay court, you're right we Belgian ignore that. Oh, wait, Justin Henin won Roland Garros how many times? Kim Clijsters didn't even enter Roland Garros in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010. Do you even watch tennis?

She also didn't enter Wimbledon in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011... She was in the QF in 2010 though.

I'm stopping this discussion, you're only going to attack me as a person instead of using actual arguments anyway. It's Zvonareva by the way, not Zvonoreva.

Come on Pisti, since when do you bail. I mean no disrespect to you we always argue like this, its all cool.

Fine ill make the argument without attacking you.

Kim is 11th in the rankings. That suggests there are plenty of players better than her.

She also doesn't perform on clay or grass, just on hard courts. Other players manage on all surfaces.

Yes she has been injured. But injuries are Serenas problem too.

If we overlook injuries then Serena> Kim

If we don’t overlook injuries Wozcniacki (and 10 others) > Kim.

Either way Kim is not way better. She isn’t even better. She is great but there are others who are better.

Overall Serena Williams is much better than Clijsters(for one, she's better on the grass), but since 2009 I think Clijsters has shown better tennis than Serena Williams, so hence my statement. They both had a lot of injuries in those 3 years, so it evens somewhat out. I don't hold much value to those rankings by the way. Wozniacki is the most consistent tenniser today, but she's not the best. That's why she's number one without having won a GS so far. Consistent yeah, but not the best. Or second best, or even third best... Serena will have to prove her self again at the highest level and if she does I'll happily retract my statement.

But I really do believe Clijsters is clean. She wants to quit tennis after this year to spend more time with her daughter(and she already had a break from tennis for 2 years to take care for her kid). Plus she doesn't look like a body-builder. She doesn't sound like someone who is desperate to win at all costs... Serena Williams on the other hand...

And Clijsters hasn't entered many clay or grass GS a lot last 6 years because of her retirement and injuries. It doesn't mean she isn't good in them though. She has made it to the final of Roland Garros twice losing to Justin Henin both times. What makes you believe she's not good on clay? Henin was the queen of clay, but after her Clijsters was one of the best. And right now, there's not one tenniser who dominates the clay season like Rafa Nadal does with the men and Henin used to do in the past.

William sisters also racked up some extra GS victories when both Clijsters and Henin were retired(mostly due to Henin though).

For me, the tennis ranking is a ranking of consistency not per se a ranking of who is the best though often the best tennis player is also the most consistent one. Clijsters was ranked number one last year before all her injury problems. I don't know what rankink Serena has at the moment, but it probably doesn't do her justice.

Though I will admit that if Serena Williams can enjoy a full season without injuries she'll likely reach her old level again.

Who do you think would win in a fist fight: The Hitch or El Pistolero?
How about a rap battle?
Or a dance competition?

Dancing on Ice? Or how about a tennis competition? And we'll get the ATP to monitor for drugs and / or doping. That'll be fair.
