The Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) was created in 2019 and aims to increase player power within the sport.
It believes the four majors, the men's ATP Tour and women's WTA Tour should fund access to third-party lawyers, so financial resources are not a barrier to a speedy and authoritative defence.
It would - they argue - make the system fairer for all players regardless of their ranking.
Tennis is unwatchable now. Back line endurance. Why do people care? The quality of the final Nadal-Djokovic was was pretty much a human rights violation
Gee whiz, you’d think an organization representing the players’ interested would have their h although and well being in mind and fund drug testing, not just fight it. Ha!Interesting idea from the world of tennis -
Players’ association calls for legal aid fund for suspected dopers

A month suspension . . . Backdated and the remainder of which she had no tournement on schedule. Ridiculous—it’s not even a slap on the wrist!1 month suspension?[deleted content] Let's see what WADA says, but judging from the Sinner case that they are only asking for 1-2 years and not asking for disqualification of the results.... it's just for show so people can see how "tough" they are on doping. Both ITIA and WADA are banana republic level organisations
(the same drug that the 23 Chinese swimmers did n't take too ...)Now I have fought the toughest battle in my life ...
ITIA's explanation makes the whole story even more bizarre. She listed 14 drugs on the doping control form. But of course she did not mention LEK-AM Melatonina, which she is now using to defend herself.A month suspension . . . Backdated and the remainder of which she had no tournement on schedule. They basically say that there's absolutely zero evidence that the drug was contaminated, but since the drug company also makes TMZ, this whole contamination story seems credible. Wtf33. The ITIA sought to contact the manufacturer of the Product on numerous occasions, including by
telephone and email. However, the manufacturer did not respond. The ITIA verified that the
manufacturer also manufactures a TMZ product.
35. Given all the circumstances of this case, the ITIA accepts the Player has established that it is more
likely than not that the TMZ found in her urine sample 1452034 was due to the presence of TMZ
(an undisclosed contaminant) in tablets of the Product that she consumed in the hours prior to
the collection of the sample. No other evidence, including from the ITIA’s investigations and two
detailed interviews with the Player, undermine the evidence provided to demonstrate source
Yow. Like my orphaned, raised by a poor family during the depression mother used to tell me, “you’ve had it too easy.”Not even a slap on the wrist? It was the toughest battle in her life!

"I stand and ask myself, why is there such a big difference in treatment and judgment?"
"I can't find and I don’t think there can be a logical answer.
It can only be bad will from ITIA, the organization that has done absolutely everything to destroy me despite the evidence."
Didn't she also fire her head coach a few months ago? Sounds crazy 🫣ATIA's explanation makes the whole story even more bizarre. She listed 14 drugs on the doping control form. But of course she did not mention LEK-AM Melatonina, which she is now using to defend herself.![]()
Demonstrates the irony—general public associate cycling with doping dirtiness yet cycling has much more stringent anti-doping measures and more frequent testing than those mainstream sports people think are drug-free. Not that cycling is doing a good job of it, but it’s a magnitude of difference from sports like Tennis or the NFL.And to think that Toon Aerts
got 2 years for contamination in CX
At least I can avoid all the local hype around the Monaco Red Fox rather easy...Good to see a doper win his 3rd gs. WADA’s case is ongoing, but let’s be honest, nothing will come of it.
A slap on the wrist for the Monaco Red Fox.I bet the Italian advertising machine doesn't stop using him as a golden boy.
He is responsible for what goes into his body. Athletes have been getting banned for 'contaminated supplements' consistently. Especially when you can pinpoint where it comes from, it gets suss quicklyBut what should a fair punishment be of something he was neither responsible for, didn't fo on purpose and didn't get any performance enhancement from? It seems ridiculous to kick a guy out for years for that. I get that it seems a bit contrived that he won't miss any slams and that it sounds weird that a settlement can be reached in a case like this, but the crime really wasn't that bad.
To me a fair punishment would've been 3-6 months but only if that meant missing out on a Grand Slam at least.
Of course he's ultimately responsible, hence the ban.He is responsible for what goes into his body. Athletes have been getting banned for 'contaminated supplements' consistently. Especially when you can pinpoint where it comes from, it gets suss quickly
To me it's mostly egregious precisely because other athletes have gotten completely shitcanned non therapeutic amounts of PEDs and that's always been considered normal. Now it's Sinner and it's all "oh poor boy he didn't mean to do that"
