I think it's weird that not more teams have Iglinskiy in them. He's included in 47 teams, making him the 17th most popular pick in the game.

Here we're talking of a rider who for the previous four seasons scored more than twice the points he did in 2011 and in 2011 he only scored 14% of the points he did in 2010.

If that's not enough, we're talking of the rider who won Strade Bianche, finished 4th in Tirreno-Adriatico, 8th in Milano - San Remo, 7th in Gent - Wevelgem, 8th in Ronde van Vlaanderen in 2010 only to have a horrible 2011.

If that's not a bargain, then what is?

Good list of reasons for picking him, i was not so thorough but still picked him.

Well, second time that I've had a top 5 week and I'm still 75th! My team is consistently inconsistent.

Duarte for the win tonight.

I like my Romandie team as long as Kreuziger isn't still tired :p

Tour de Romandie

DAVIS Allan
HESJEDAL Ryder
KREUZIGER Roman
LARSSON Gustav Erik
LLOYD Matthew
MADRAZO RUIZ Angel
ROLLAND Pierre
SANCHEZ GIL Luis Leon
SICARD Romain
SPILAK Simon

I'd also like to send a get well message to Guillaume Boivin. I need you back soon.

You and Teo basically had the same team but Rolland could be a big factor.

I don't think Rolland can be a big factor: IMO is Kreuziger vs Porte, and maybe Porte can take big advantage from the ITTs.

I'm confident in Kelderman and Kwiatosky too

Of course, I don't have him on my team though ;)

I went through all of that but I couldnt find any reason as to why he underperfomed last season unlike with other riders (pozzato, gesink, rogers etc) and he hadnt proven himself a big enough a talent to be worth the risk

For sure he's one of the bargains who have come through, along with Boivin. The picks that haven't been so clever: number 1 is Valls. Did a fair bit of jiggling to get him into the team and... well, is he still alive?

UPDATE!

As promised, the Giro d'Italia CQ game is coming and will be open on Monday once the latest CQ update is available.

Just start thinking about 9 riders for your team based on the current CQ value http://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/cqRankingRider.asp?current=1.

The total buying power has not been decided yet but it will be around 2000 points. Same rules as the current CQ game. The team with highest CQ value from Giro will win.

For those interested in this game, if you are current player, please contact me for a password because everything will be done through our website so please do not submit your teams to Hugo or me.

If you are a new player, you will be able to register through our game website. Please note that the current game website has option to register however that is only for writing comments on our website and the game login is separate!

IF you have any questions, ask here or message me.

At least he is only 39 points. I have Kern who has scored no points but costs 258.

Very cool. I'm looking forward to it!
Perhaps you should create a new thread once everything is ready on the website?

I totally just skipped through this. But it sounds neat.

My unique pick Colli is picking up points every where which is nice although it are most of the time small points. Further I had a disappointing week last week and went from 20th till 36th-38th or something :(.

CQ giro game sounds fun!

Not wanting to sound negative, the Giro CQ game looks like a great initiative for those who want to play it, but...

I stopped playing Velogames' grand tour games when they started to allow substitutions and added all sorts of secondary competitions etc.

I like the CQ game for its simplicity and no need for additional effort, so I just hope that this Giro game doesn't inspire any fancy ideas about the main game ;)

Will it have its own thread?

Don't worry, it won't affect the main game at all. It's just a test, but I think it sounds fun. It basically has nothing to do with this game - it just uses the same point system, that's all.

I think CQmanager's plan is to use http://www.cqmanager.net for the most part, but if we want to discuss it here on cyclingnews forum, we will create a new thread for it here.

LBL didn't quite go as expected.....

On to Romandie then!!

Tanel Kangert
Fredrik Kessiakoff
Thibault Pinot
Mikel Landa
Denis Menchov
Simon Spilak
Tom-Jelte Slagter
Pierre Rolland
Rafael Majka

Menchov, Spilak and Rolland should go well. Hoping some of these others can pull of something too.

Menchov was DNF today, what happened there?

Giro game update:
So the game is a go and riders for all teams will be selected through our website. With Hugo we have agreed on 3000 points per team. Team will have 9 riders. Hugo will provide all the details and I'm assuming a new thread will be created for the Giro game.

The whole idea behind the Giro game, at least from my side, is to test everything for next year, so we can select riders online and run the game through the website. This year we may also do games for TDF and Vuelta but we will see what kind of feedback we will get from the Giro game.

Again: if you would like to play and need login for the game site, please contact me and I will create a temporary password that you can change after you log in.
