162 points from my Liquigas riders (Moser & Agostini) today :). Also, Agostini is now into profit.

Giro
Uran
Henao
Battaglin
Demare
Guardini
Renshaw

Moser is slowly turning into being one of the best picks ... and only 25 teams has him ... not on my team :(

Moser is looking like an immense pick, and as a result I'm following the U23 scene a lot more closely this year, don't want to miss out on any of those guys for CQ 2013 ;)

With a Giro team of Kreuziger, Guardini, Pozzato, Clement and Larsson, I'm relying pretty heavily on RK...

Yes, Moser was a pretty obvious pick I think. Well, maybe not obvious, but he for sure is a great talent.

By the way, you should check out this site which is quite interesting: http://cycling4fans.com/index.php?id=5544

it's a nice site, but it's funny to see that in 2009 Sagan was considered less talented than Kristoff :D

+1

Look at guys like Vermeltfoort and even Novikov who's the top of the list Hugo listed, both of whom have struggled to even finish a race since turning pro.

U23s are always a risk but with the likes of Matthews, Demare, Degankolb and Moser being exceptional picks in the CQ game over the last two years they've gotta be considered. I genuinely thought Demare was too expensive for my team... :(

I think all the U23 WC have to be considered as riders who will get good profits when they turn pro. Matthews, Durbridge, Phinney and Demare have proved that.

Indeed. I don't know why I don't have Demare on my team. And that's a strategy I was thinking of before the start of the 2012 season.

Going to the Giro with Battaglin, Cabedo (lol), Felline, Henao, Pozzato, Salerno, Ulissi.

Recipe for disaster unless Henao and/or Ulissi do really well.

Good picks so far: Spilak, Pozzato, Rogers, Landa, Iglinskiy, Boonen, Breschel
Likely failures: Anton, Roche, Simon Clarke, Martens, Baugnies, Silin (and Offredo, of course...)

My Giro Squad:
Brandle
JJ Haedo
Henao
Hesjedal
Kreuziger
Pauwels
Pozzato
Renshaw
Vanendert jnr

Co-incidentally 9 men, and arguably a balanced sort of squad that many real life teams would be fairly happy to be sending. Should I be asking Renshaw to do lead out for Haedo, or vice versa?

Giro:
DE GENDT Thomas
HENAO MONTOYA Sergio Luis
KESSIAKOFF Fredrik
KREUZIGER Roman
PHINNEY Taylor
PINOTTI Marco
RENSHAW Mark
TUFT Svein

To the best of my knowledge Kessiakoff is not doing the Giro even though it seems to state he does on the cycling news start list

I'm also pretty sure that Kessiakoff is no longer riding. If that's the case, my Giro team:

Kreuziger
Pozzato
Larsson
Henao
Keukeleire
Demare
Colbrelli

My team would have been a lot better if Fuglsang, Anton, Kessiakoff, Davis, Quintana, and Lloyd were still riding as they were once slated to do.

Update 17: into profit after crazy week!

What I thought would be a quite dull week turned out to be a very active one with insane amounts of points handed out - just take a look at this weeks high scorers:

1. skidmark - 1218
2. kurtinsc - 1071
3. Nyssinator - 1060
4. sublimit - 1031
5. Object - 1026

Thanks to Kreuziger, Luis Leon Sanchez, Rui Costa, Pozzato, Porte, Talansky and Rogers, skidmark scored roughly one fifth of what he hitherto had scored.
Not surprisingly do we find some of the same teams on this weeks high jumpers list:

1. kurtinsc +22
1. sublimit +22
3. Object +13
4. gustienordic +12
4. will10 +12
4. mc_mountain +12

The leaderboard looks a bit different this week. TeoSheva is still leading, but the main difference is that we're now looking at some green numbers instead of only reds as TeoSheva, EvansIsTheBest, Mellow Velo and Kvinto all have now turned a profit. Congratulations!
Furthermore, we find three new teams enter the top 10 this week: skidmark, Nyssinator and Kazistuta who all had good (or great) weeks.

1. (1) TeoSheva - 7956
2. (3) EvansIsTheBest - 7681
3. (2) Mellow Velo - 7606
4. (4) Kvinto - 7539
5. (12) skidmark - 7317
6. (8) AntonioRossi - 7238
7. (7) Netserk - 7081
8. (17) Nyssinator - 7078
9. (5) lancaster - 6995
10. (16) Kazistuta - 6914

Now, I'm sure this next week will be pretty quiet. But will it be the calm before the storm as the Giro is approaching?

Well, as I've mentioned, I have intermittent computer access these days (working through the summer in a remote worksite), but I have to pop my head in here to say - woo hoo! I downloaded the final stage of Romandie and watched it when I went back to the camp of my worksite, and I just couldn't believe it when every guy on my CQ team seemingly overperformed. Wow, too bad Tejay got taken out by a branch. I'll take the week to bask in this short-lived glory.

I also thought that was his main focus, but at the time of Anton's injury, there were some reports saying "now he will no longer be riding the Giro." I still can't believe he broke his collarbone in the neutral zone.

Crashes in the neutral zone are not unusual in the slightest.
