Vuelta:
Fredrik Kessiakoff
Nacer Bouhanni
Arnold Jeannesson
Mikel Landa
Martijn Maaskant
Denis Menchov
Nairo Quintana
Zdenek Stybar
Matti Breschel
Sergio Henao
Rafael Majka
Rafael Valls

I expect almost all of these to do something this Vuelta. Couple of guys for the GC and guys like Valls, Landa and Stybar will probably go in breaks and try to win a stage or something.

Though people with real GC contenders like Anton and Gesink should earn more points than me easily. :p

Vuelta

I somehow have managed to get 14 guys into this one:
Boom
Breschel
Clarke
Davis
Henao
Majka
Pauwels
Porte
Quintana
Sicard
Silin
Talansky
Valls
Van den Broeck

Should keep me fairly high in the table: the two places above me both have Anton in their squad though...

I know I expressed trepidation about the Vuelta in my last post, but this week has been insane! Still out of internet range for the most part (saw the Vuelta stage live yesterday and today, bike trip almost over!), but I just checked in the last 20 minutes and this week I got an insane set of results. LL Sanchez winning San Sebastien plus some top 20 placings, Di Luca with 2 3rd places in a 1.1 and an HC, Demare 1st in Hamburg, Boonen 4th and Haussler 7th, Davis 2nd in the Vuelta stage, Modolo winning an Italian 1.1 race, what else? It seems like everything is turning to gold right now. And now I read that Brandle, with Modolo my most unique pick, wins a 1.1 race. Wow.

You have a nice lead but I think the game is still open and would be a battle to the very end. Few guys behind you have Anton, Talansky and few others that can score big points from the Vuelta.

I think it is good that the game is not over yet and I can imagine even bigger battle next year :D

Oh yeah, I agree. Next year will be insane points wise, I think!

Easy picks shall be available next year. I won't say any but if Evans ( not an easy pick ) gets no more points does everyone think he would be worthwhile for next year ( F-W, 1 week races and stages/ top 10's at GT's- could be good )?

It seems like Igor Anton has gloriously reached  his pre-2010 level... What a terrible investment of 600 CQ points

Yes, I am definitely nervous about the end of the game, especially the unpredictability of the two forced WT events in China at the end of the season - if last year's Beijing was any indication, it seems like a lottery of who wants to still compete at the end of the season, and with the somewhat unchallenging course (assuming it's similar this year, and the new race is pretty 'easy' too), there could very well be unexpectedly random riders picking up points. As someone who's been really stoked about this game since the first day it was proposed, it's exciting to see so many people that have teams and so much competition. As someone who is in the lead however, it's pretty nervewracking - I can see why guys who have the leader's jersey early on in a GT often give it away, it's so much easier to think of coming from behind!
