The -295 thing is a bit misleading, no-one is on minus points, Offredo if he's banned will just score 0.

Cheers. I really dig your squad btw. Strong selection. Lets both cross our fingers for Fabrice Jeandesboz; I have very high expectations for him this coming season. He had excellent form coming out of the Tour. Top-5 on Lagunas de Neila shows his enormous qualities. Having read that he has had a strong off-season and dropped a few kilos (Normally he is around 70kg-68kg) but entering this year he is down to 65kg makes me even more optimistic. I hope we get to see him shine a lot in the mountains this year!

Thanks. I was wondering who the other player was who had Jeandesboz. TBH I was a little dissappointed that I didn't have a nice unique rider there, but you seem to have been following him more closely, are more intitled to pick him. I was specifically scouting for this game, and came across his results in Burgos. That's basically how I came to pick him. The extra info is much appreciated, though.

I'll need to check out some of the riders on your team there, there are a few I've never heard of. It's quite an original selection. Hope you do well, dude. That's the way to play the game.

lol those of us who took Betancur and Di Luca now know what you Offredo chaps feel.

As does Fabio Duarte's selectors.
Risky business, wildcards.

Nah I picked Duarte because he will get the leadership in whatever stage race he chooses, didnt even expect him to get Giro. Guy attacks in every race anyway so could be Vuelta a la Roja or Pais Vasco or Sentima Bartali or Giro Sardigna or whatever, I hope he can get good positions in these races and build up his points like that.

This is one of the main reasons I didn't pick Duarte no matter how much I like him. I don't think he'll do enough to warrant his inclusion for 286 points now.

I'm pretty dissapointed that A&S didn't get a wildcard. Not good for my team because of Betancur. Though I think he can earn a lot of points anyway. Glad I didn't pick Di Luca.

lol what do people expect Duarte will do? leave the team and go back to Colombia? If Giro was a big aim in the first place he wouldn't have chosen coledeportes.

Its not like he has any major Gt points to defend from last year other than the 40 he got for placing 2nd on stage Weening won.

I wish the wildcards came out earlier so that all those people who actually thought he would do the Giro and think he will struggle for points without it, wouldnt pick him and hed be more exclusive.

Hes the team leader for a team that will contest many major European races. 300 is not a big price to pay for that kind of role placed on the shoulders with that kind of a talent.

No kidding, I picked Di Luca over Konig because I didnt expect NetApp to get invite and expected Di Luca to be flying on some magic juice during the Giro once again ... oh well, plenty of points available from Italian race calendar

I can't tell the same about Betancur, but it's even good for Di Luca. He should ride smaller races while doing Giro is a waste of his CQ potential :D

Probably a 1000pt+ season is out of the question without the Giro. The loss might not be that bad though, if he goes to the Tirreno-Adriatico, and is busy with the Italian calendar in general.

 tbh, even in my wildest dream i did not expect a 1000+ from Di Luca while picking him, a 1000+ you're a big optimist, seriously ;)

So says Ryo. Mind, he also said he'd ride the Giro for sure and possibly the Vuelta and the Tour of the Whole Universe.

Well seeing as I argued against Ryo when he said Coledeportes was a great move for Duarte, Im clearly not being influenced by him.

For Duarte it would have been 100 times better to ride the Giro.

For Cq though its different because all those smaller races get good points. A podium and a stage in something like Murcia for example would get him 1/3 of the way to his last years points.

He (Di Luca) would have very little chances in the Giro, but if A&S were invited he'd build his season around it for sure and it would actually take its toll regarding his overall CQ score

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with how my team is affected by the wildcard selections (NOT happy with the selections themselves, mind)... Modolo, who I'm putting alot of faith in, can win small sprints, but I'd rather see him get 4 top 3s in the giro (25-70 points each) than win 3 stages in a small race (20 points), which is probably what would happen in that time otherwise - not that high finishes at the Giro are guaranteed, but there are 6-8 sprints there this year and he's a damn good sprinter. Di Luca, on the other hand, I think would be worth much more focusing on one-week and one-day races at his age, don't think he has it in him to get high in the Giro. And Brandle can at least score 15 points for finishing maybe... all in all, pretty good news for my team, I think.
