I estimate my team to make 17,000 points. At worst 15,000.

Also, for all the hype surrounding ACF's team, my estimation is 12,500 points for him. So not good enough. He could have done so much better than these picks, for example:

BURGHARDT Marcus
IGLINSKIY Maxim
VELITS Martin
WYSS Danilo

I think Lars Boom, Brajkovic, Porte, Phinney, Ciolek & Di Luca will not make a profit for you and some of your other picks are questionable. No way will you make near 15,000.

Burghardt definetly has the potential to go well in at least one cobbled classic which would make 80+ for him. Iglinskiy is a very good pick and is again a talented classics rider who has potential to do well in a lot of different classics races. Velits has made above 70 on numerous other years and again will have more chances than at HTC. Like Velits, Wyss has doubled his score in the past and seems to pick up the odd top 10. If he doesn't make a profit for me it is not a big loss.

Everything's possible, but anyone who states that their team can do no worse than 15,000 shouldn't be taken seriously. It's just not a very intelligent thing to say this early in the game.

+1

Last year's winner had a very good team and scored just shy of 14,000. To say 15,000 is the minimum a team will achieve is a bit farfetched ;)

if a Belgian has a poor year theres always an excuse.

i dont remember him injured the previous year, he might of been injured some of last year perhaps.

He was injured for more than half the season and didn't ride anymore for Sky since July

Next time if Cavendish breaks 2 legs, I'll call it an excuse as well if he does poor. What are the excuses again that a lot of Sky fans use to explain why EBH hasn't featured in the Monuments yet?

I've been out of the discussion for too long now!... But what do you think is realistic for how good a season Mick Rodgers could have? 1038 was his highest...in 2010. I think realistically he could be around 600... at max.

Possibly. He might win one or two stage races overall, and maybe top 10 in some others.

Chichichi or whatever his name is has two wins in two days? Bite me!

While my two sprinters were chatting about how it's important not to peak too early in 117th & 118th position on stage 2  Maybe they were still working out who should be leading out the other in the final sprint

thb it's a natural state of things for Chicchi. in winter races he is always among the best sprinters but then he disappears...

Chicchi's problem is that he is utterly hopeless at positioning himself. I guess it works fine having a Boonen piloting him through a thin South-American field.

I don't have him on my team. I generally have very few sprinters. It's really only Oss, with Breschel, Cozza & Pozzato as semi-sprinters.

My though behind ditching the sprinters was that a sprinter will need be right up there at the sharp end everytime he wants to score points, while the stronger climbers (and also time trialers) can score decent points for overall placings without being at the top of their game. I think they have a chance at far more points than sprinters.

But I've also heard people say that the CQ system favours sprinters, so I may be completely wrong.

Rogers doesn't have to win any stage races to do better than 600. He won't ride any GTs this year, which certainly doesn't hurt his CQ potential.

Bet he rides the tour a captain on the road and may dbl up in Spain

You're right. Especially since will10 brought up the winner's score last year.

Calculations? They look like little more than guesses to me.
Fixed it them. It would be great to learn, more speciically, what you believe I could imporve about my team and my guesses.

For a start you said worse case you'd get 15,000, yet if I add up all your worst case scores for your team I get 6,600.

How did you determine a worst case scenario score of 15000pts if not from the worst case scores of each rider? Where do the other 8400pts come from?
