I read somewhere that he wouldn't be doing much racing on the road this year as he was focusing on the track worlds and track olympics. I don't know though, but I wouldn't be too confident in him - although he's great when he does race!

Yeah, it came down to a choice for me between him and Modolo - both the same points, both young Italian sprinters, seemingly well-matched (based on them trading stages in Padania last summer), but the one thing that tipped the scales for me to Modolo was that Viviani was focusing on track. He's got a bunch of points in the bag now, but I think he'll be missing chunks of the season.

Wow, my Tour de Med team has really disappointed me.

Out of Pinot, Rolland, Denifl, Valls, Quintana, Majka and Keukeleire only Pinot and Rolland made me a few little points by getting 15th and 16th in the GC.

Yeah same here. I had a good team there but of course the change of parcours made it difficult. Madrazo, however, of course didn't let me down! I think I won't ever create a CQ team without him :D

Pretty stupid I didn't pick him.
I picked him last year, thinking Contador would be suspended and he'd have freedom to score me plenty of points. Looks like my reasoning was good and only the RFEC failed me.

Not complaining, though. For every Navarro and Kreder who were a failure last year, I have a Madrazo or a Boonen. Even Gavazzi and Silin scored some silly points.

Fvck!

Dani already has 76 points this year. He had 78 last year... --" And of course I pick Jonas, CJ, Troels and Jesus when going for Saxoboys... *facepalm*

And as if that wasn't enough, he was even cheaper than all of them *epic facepalm*

Wtf they cancelled Mont Faron.
How are all my precious climbers ever going to earn me points if they cancel all the climbs?
First at Etoile, so Pinot didn't earn me any points and Rolland earned me less points.
No second mountainous stage at Mallorca.
And now they cancelled Mont Faron.
Oh yeah, there will be climbing in Algarve, but I won't be earning points there either, because all my climbers randomly decided to race crappy French races where the climbs get cancelled, instead of Algarve.

I sort of have the same problem/annoyance that Mont Faron was cancelled ( it's also good racing ). Pinot withdrew from Etoile as well ( for you so he would not have gone so well anyways ). I had Majka, Keukleire, Quintana who i thought would have gone well. Devolder did not go well at Etoile either. However Boonen offset that for me at Qatar, whilst Renshaw scored ok points and Demare won a stage at his first pro race ( which shows good promise )

I only have Velits for GC at Algarve.

JTL was hyped on this thread for a bit and on ToB. A lot of people considered him.

Tour of Oman
Allan DAVIS
Tom BOONEN
Peter VELITS
Taylor PHINNEY
Marco PINOTTI
Tobias LUDVIGSSON
Luca ASCANI

I hope in some points from the GC thanks to Velits, Ludvigsson or Ascani... Pinotti I think is not in great shape yet...
Boonen for the stages

Boonen for the stages

Boonen won't be sprinting in Oman. He'll be working for Chavanel. Keep him out of the wind, fetching water bottles, controlling the break-away... That kind of stuff. Chavanel is the leader @ Oman, so I wouldn't expect too much from Velits if I were you.

I'll believe it when I see it. If we get echelons, we'll see Boonen sprinting for the stage.

exactly, he might not want to take part in bunch sprints but i can't imagine him resisting temptation when the bunch is reasonably reduced
