And how much will that help him on this year's route? He knew he had to attack to have a chance to take the stripes, but he didn't.shalgo said:Well, he was only millimeters away from a medal in 2011.

skidmark said:Yes, true. I shouldn't treat that as the poor younger sibling. I'm very stoked to see Grmay show up on the scoresheet (and personally, 'cause I like him).

mc_mountain said:(Grmay is Ethiopian)
I wonder what he will be able to achieve on the european scene as so far he scored in rather warm environments (Taiwan, Malaysia, Gabon) and has yet to race against the world's best. After all, Berhane and Teklehaimanot who had better results in african races have struggled to make the transition. It'd be great for the sport if an african rider could go toe to toe with world class cyclists but whether it will be Grmay, Merhawi or a guy that we have yet to hear about remains to be seen. He is a great pick nonetheless and MTN really is on a roll this year.skidmark said:Honestly, the first time I took note of Grmay's name was when I read through the teams for this main game and saw him on Dim's team - I had 2 days left to put together my youth team, he had a really interesting name, I'm interested in Eritrean cycling (generally, not that I follow it with an eagle eye) so I read a few things about him (like this article) and thought he seemed like a talent, was on a team that could give him opportunities that were big enough to get some points but small enough that he could get high placings, and decided to take a chance. Wish I had seen him before the main game closed.

Same for me unfortunately
Where is Will 10's quote from last month about how screwed people who didn't pick Pozzato are
the asian said:Ah,Eurosport showed Pippo finishing with who seemed to be a SKY guy( actually a Blanco rider) after the bunch for 4th, and i assumed they finished 23rd and 24th.
Pippo faring way below expectations especially after his impressive showing in the Italian races.
BTW you have Cancellara. I'm worried that he's going to be this years' Boonen.

If it's any consolation, I'll keep you company at the bottom of the rankings. Unfortunately since he is one of my favorite riders, a certain Belgian just secured himself a spot in my 2014 team...skidmark said:Dear god. Nothing like watching a race and having them scroll through 20 chasers and having none of your team there, or up the road. Story of the season - 5 guys were in the peloton when it was 35-40 riders, and they're all out of the top 24. Breschel, Thomas, Pippo, Cattaneo all there and then not. Meanwhile, sure Matthews picks up 48 points in Spain, but loses to Francesco Lasca? Oh well, at least he beat international sprinting legend Ken Hanson in 3rd.
