LOL, I continue my downward spiral. I was in the top 10, now getting ever closer to the bottom 10, in 86th place.

Ah nice, randomly got 72 points in Paris Camembert from Rolland and Coquard. :D

Well I needed those for not picking Gilbert today in the Brabantse Pijl :D

Now let's see if TGBM and Slagter can compensate for not picking Gilbert in AGR, probably not. :p

Gilbert has already 3 times the points he had last year at this time ;)

Meh, he'll have to make up for those 400 points of the WC that he won last year, so he needs more than just doing well in the Ardennes.

It's gonna be very difficult for him to be competitive with the climbers in Firenze I think. Although Gilbert has a history of doing well in races everybody thought were too hard for him, but oh well, we'll see at the end of the year I guess. :D

I'm confident Phil will be a good pick, but not a must to win the game. I expect him to score at least 350-400 points in the Ardennes Week. And he has a lots of possible wins throughout the year so should end up with at least 1500 points if not injured.

But for me the highlight of the day was Kenny DeHaes. A unique pick that is already at 258 %. And even I thought that the course today was way to hilly for him:D

There are about 38 of us who will be rooting against Gilbert next week.

36 points from Devolder today but that's it. Nothing yesterday.

Gilbert is kind of irrelevant for this game as he is on 94 teams and from the current TOP 20 only bicing doesnt have him. So for current TOP 20 it really doesnt mean anything as he is on 19 teams. Actually, I even think it is an advantage for bicing because if he for whatever reason doesnt break even he may capitalize from that. On the other hand, if he scores some mega points, bicing and all others without him are screwed :D

Me as well, did the highest dive in the ranking this week (-41 spots! :(). Hopefully Kolobnev, Bardet, Gilbert and Ponzi can make the Ardennes week one to remember.........

Wow, I didn't expect that almost all the top ranked teams at this stage had Phil in their team...
One should think that quite a few of the teams that don't have Phil on their team should have done quite well until now, considering the poor payback he has given so far.
But then again, the total winner of this game could be placed way outside the top 20 at this stage, and be missing Phil even if he has a great season. Very early days yet!

I'm curious as to how many points people will earn in the Ardennes classics. It seems to me that besides Phil all the favourites were too expensive to pick, like Nibali, Jrod, Valverde, Henao etc.

At least my AGR team isn't looking too good, without Phil.

AGR
MOLLEMA Bauke
SLAGTER Tom Jelte
KOCH Michel
LANDA MEANA Mikel
VAN DER SANDE Tosh
MATTHEWS Michael
DEKKER Thomas
SCHLECK Andy

Finestère
ELISSONDE Kenny
ROLLAND Pierre
TAARAMAE Rein

Trentino
KENNAUGH Peter
ROLLAND Pierre

In Castilla y Leon I have none.

I'm quite satisfied with my AGR line-up, not so much with my Trentino line-up but hopefulyl Evans and Favilli can do something.

I think Rojas is riding Castilla y Leon instead of AGR, but you still have quite an interesting line up. And I suspect Rojas has better chanses to pick up points in Castilla anyway:rolleyes:

I was wondering the same. There certainly won't be near as many points scored in the Ardennes as there were in the cobbled classics. Other than Phil, there aren't very many popular picks who are likely to be up there. The non-unique picks I think have the best chance at scoring well:

Gilbert 94
Anton 30
Nairo 25
Ulissi 12
Betancour 11
Slagter 8
TGBM 6
Kolobnev 3
Sagan 3
Martin 2

Yeah I can see T. Dekker getting 5 points for sure.

Dekker was 18th in the AGR last year and he actually looks a bit better now (judging by Strade Bianchi and Brabantse Pijl performances, which aren't really his races)

Alright, thanks :)

I really need TGBM to do well in the Ardennes and Rolland for LBL, otherwise I'll drop back even further than now for not picking Gilbert. I'll be happy if I survive the classics season without Cancellara and Gilbert in the top 50 though :p
