I want to take part in 2014 :) Any idea when thread will be open? Hugo?

Just in case you haven't read it, the verdict is still in on how and who for next season, because Hugo doesn't have time to do it by himself.

Yep, checked my longlist and saw that quite a few probable picks picked up a bit too many points in those races in Asia. There are still way to many must/want to haves for me to fit into one team.

On the bright side. Noone from my current team scored points in Asia

I have a pretty good preliminary team at 7465 points. My initial 33 only added up to around 5500 points. It's difficult finding the riders at 300+ points who will definitely improve.

Update #38: Calm before the storm...

OK, I might have used this headline before but with a rather quiet week in the top 10 and with the final dicision time coming up, this really is the calm before the storm.

While noone in the top 10 managed to score more than 200 points, nobilis had a blast of a week and with Intxausti, Bardet and Dombrowski, he scored more than 150 points more than 2nd placed dogboy who also scooped a lot of points from the Tour of Beijing winner, Intxausti.

This week's top scorers:

1. nobilis - 548
2. dogboy - 396
3. FF'Wilco - 395
4. Sylvester - 343
5. ansimi - 331

Despite of his great week, nobilis didn't quite make it into the high jumpers list. Instead, minessa, who wasn't even among this week's top scorers, takes the prize as he (or she?) jumps 11 places. Once again, dogboy has to settle for 2nd place and this time even joint with FF'Wilco.

This week's high jumpers:

1. minessa +11
2. dogboy +9
2. FF'Wilco +9
4. ansimi +8
4. DJ Sprtsch +8

As mentioned, not much happened in the top 10. As has become a tradition, will10 and SteelyDan switches positions and only 88 points separate 1st from 3rd now. And we can't rule out 4th placed adamski101 completely - he's only 250 points behind our leader. It's really incredibly close!

Top 10:

1. (-) Geraint Too Fast - 13074
2. (+1) SteelyDan - 13010
3. (-1) will10 - 12986
4. (-) adamski101 - 12824
5. (-) chinaboy - 12133
6. (+1) freddybobs - 11985
7. (+2) Skibby the bush kangaroo - 11948
8. (-) The Amateur - 11941
9. (-3) vladimir - 11919
10. (+1) tomazo - 11873

So now what? Well, there's only Tour of Hainan, a few minor races and then Tour of Taihu Lake left. Who do you think's gonna win it?

SteelyDan has Jos Van Emden in Hainan, so could score ~50 there. EDIT: After stage 2 he was 5th in GC, so would score 74 points.

I don't think there's any other rider in that race who's also in one of the three leader teams.

Do you know if Hainan is just flat stages?

Jos Van Emden is still 5th overall after stage 7, which makes SteelyDan our virtually leader by 10 points!

He certainly is 4th after stage 8.

GC:
1 Moreno Hofland - Belkin Pro Cycling Team 30.06.59
2 Frédéric Amorison - Crelan-Euphony 1.07
3 Thomas Leezer - Belkin Pro Cycling Team 1.14

4 Jos Van Emden - Belkin Pro Cycling Team 1.17
5 William Walker - Drapac Cycling 1.21
6 Mykhailo Kononenko - Ukraine 1.22
7 Darío Hernández - Burgos BH-Castilla y Leon 1.24
8 Adrian Honkisz - CCC Polsat Polkowice
9 Volodymyr Zagorodniy - Ukraine 1.28
10 Darren Lapthorne - Drapac Cycling

Seems like the 84 points are a done deal!

If he ends in top-6 SD wins, if he ends lower G2F wins.

You know something is wrong, when Hofland scores 354 points in some random small sh!t race in China, while a monument win is worth 280 points

Lol, Ryder. If someone gets banned this late in the year, do we still have to use their previous "full" year value for CQ?

He won't get banned. If he was going to get banned, he would've enjoyed the long winter vacation together with the other Garmin boys last year.
