I haven't read the discussions at Velorooms, but I think it would be better with a points systems that means that winning one week should be better than finishing 6th, 7th and 9th in three weeks. My proposal would be to limit to top 5 each week with points 10-5-3-2-1. Then it would be easier to climb fast if you get two very good weeks. But of course I will be happy with whatever Skidmark decides:)

Second this, green jersey should be for the one winning most stages, not the most regular one

I like the idea of top heavy scoring system but I would suggets points for top 8(20 ,12 ,8 ,5 ,4 ,3 ,2 , 1 or 20, 15, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1). After all there are 150+ players so giving 8 players something to cheer about every week seem pretty resonable.

I support the 20, 12 ... system.

I would prefer more teams getting points, something like in Poker where top 10% makes money. So 15 teams rewarded would be my suggestion. Lets say you have 1 point per player so maybe 150 points divided between TOP 15 would be my suggestion

These are common payouts: ( also top heavy)

1st 40 points
2nd 24 points
3rd 16 points
4 = 14 points
5 = 12 points
6 = 10 points
7 = 9
8 = 8
9 = 7
10 = 6
11 = 5
12 = 4
13 = 3
14 = 2
15 = 1

or top 10

1st 40 points
2nd 24 points
3rd 16 points
4 = 14 points
5 = 10 points
6 = 8 points
7 = 6
8 = 4
9 = 2
10 = 1

As this is a CQ game, using the CQ-points for a GT stage seems attractive to me. So:

1 80
2 50
3 35
4 25
5 15
6 10
7 5
8 3
9 2
10 1

Wins should be really rewarded, otherwise the ranking will look to much like the general one.

I might regret not picking him for this game.. Luckily I have him in my youth team where I suspect he might be more important :cool:

looking forward to see what he can do in San Luis next.

Great with the first update already out! Kjellus isn't a newcomer though - he participated in the 2013 edition (and might have participated in earlier versions as well) :)

Regarding the green jersey, then I think it could be fun. As someone at the Velorooms forum suggested, I think that a more top heavy structure would be better though.

Oops :eek:

sorry Kjellus! Just because I added a tab for you in the spreadsheet I assumed you were new. I guess it was a little easier to have blinders on as to who else is playing when you aren't running the game; thanks Hugo. Well, that screws up my title for the post, ha.

This is what game participant Oliveira suggested on velorooms, which is similar to Jancouver's suggestion, albeit less top-heavy. After doing some research it seems to be mapped on the TdF points for the last few years (this is still the scheme for this year, but the 9 flat stages have scaled up to 50, 30, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2).

1st 45
2nd 35
3rd 30
4th 26
5th 22
6th 20
7th 18
8th 16
9th 14
10th 12
11th 10
12th 8
13th 6
14th 4
15th 2

I really like the thematic idea of rewarding it as CQ TdF stages with the 80, 50, etc. I also like the idea of including more than 10 teams as there are over 150 teams, so more included the better, and modelling it after TdF points is cool too. If anyone else has a preference let me know and I'll decide before the next update.

I like this option. 15 players will get points and the points are more generous to those below the podium.

Wow, that saved my season. Not too sure I will be on the top half by the end of the season, but fun to have this to look back at :eek:

@skidmark, we could go for an intermediary solution:

1 80
2 60
3 50
4 40
5 35
6 30
7 25
8 20
9 15
10 10
11 5
12 4
13 3
14 2
15 1

Bold ones are not from the original cq but could make more users cheer.

What is a good source for looking at the starting lists? :confused:

I used procyclingstats last season but have gone back to cyclingfever (http://www.cyclingfever.com/startlist.html) for startlists and cqranking for results after PCS started to get a little (scrap that - extremely) snobbish :) they don't take criticism too well and their reactions on twitter to people trying to give them feedback are outrageous. ****ing off your audience does not appear to be very smart to me but it's their own choice :) They won't get my my 1000 page clicks this year as I'm looking for startlists and results:D hopefully more people will follow.

After Haussler great result I hope my team can get some good results in the first 2 races of 2015. So here it is the startlists:

Tour Down Under:

1. Richie Porte
2. Lars Boom
3. Durbridge Luke
4. Stannard Ian
5. Haussler Heinrich
6. Benett George
7. Craddock Lawson

Notes: I'm pretty excited about this 7(!) riders that will start in Australia. Porte and Haussler already showed great form at the Nationals so I expect some more from them( Porte to win the GC and Haussler a stage). Boom, Durbridge and Stannard can all try to go in some breakaways but I don't expect too much from them. My 2 youngsters Benett and Cradock might get a top 10 in the GC so I hope they are in good form.

Tour of San Luis:

1.Cavendish Mark
2.Betancur Gomez
3.Voeckler Thomas
4.Pozzato Filipo
5.Dombrovsky Joseph Loyd

Notes: I hope Voeckler and Betancur are in great form and will be in top 5. If Cavendish will get at least 1 win here and Pipo and Dombrovsky will show somekind of form too, I will be very happy about this start of the year.
