Thats not how you enter the game. You have to submit your team PRIOR to the deadline by private message to the organizer.

You have posted your team in this thread 2 days AFTER the deadline.

But hey, we accepted other players that were late so why not somebody who was just two days late.

After all, as you have posted, you live in France so that should be a good enough excuse :D

Hello:

When i see or read :
1.1. Start & Finish
The season starts when the first race giving CQ points is held (which is the Aussie National TT Championships on January 8th) and ends when the last major race (.1 or higher) is held. The winner will be crowned when the next update after the last major race is out.*

I registred my team for the 7 january. (but the season start the 8)

I'm disanchanted, i have a beautiful team and i love a cycling games.

This situation seems very different. Milanello's team was posted in post #283 on this thread--after the spreadsheet with all of the teams had been posted, after the most popular riders had been listed, and after there had been several pages of analysis of the merits of different picks.

Im' sorry, I do not need a that, i'm a french/european "specialist" for the cycling games (Rivals Manager, Jeu Transferts, Teamcyclisme, Pronostiques to Velo Club Net, Neo tippspiel in Cycling4fans.de) and your game pleases me a lot. Thanks.

If you'd read a little further:

The first race of the season will start January 8, so I want to have your team in hand on January 6 at the latest. The deadline is 23:59 (CET) January 5th, so early January 6th for Aussies and sometime on January 5th for North Americans.

Well, since you are such a "french/european 'speclialist'" that you "do not need" to look at the complete lists of our team that you had available to you before submitting your entry, perhaps it is best if you play those other games rather than slumming with us.

Basically this: you didn't pm your team to Skidmark by the set deadline so you will not be able to participate in this game this year. Luckily for you, you're a specialist so you will no doubt enjoy a lot of success in other games. ;)

Styby Styby Styby why didn't I pick Styby :(

I wanted to pick him so much, but I misunderstood how serious his injury was and I thought I was too biased in believing Styby would do very well because I like him a lot......

Anyway I ended up switching him for Wellens which will obviously soothe my pain when Wellens wins PN and LBL. :p

Furthermore, Kump and Gougeard are still doing something for me this week. :)

Soooo... time to worry about Sagan?

Regardless, I love Strade Bianche! Great race and very impressing Stybar!
So far he is only 7 points behind last year. I still think he will profit, but I'm not sure he'll reach 2k.

81 points.

Regarding Sagan: He can still go into profit, but I doubt it will be a good season for him. Right now he neither shows that he's physically stronger nor racing more clever. And there's a good chance he won't get the green jersey at the TdF.
But then I would have picked Rodriguez if not Sagan and in the meantime I doubt he would have been a better pick.

Oof, brutal week for me. The 'highlight' is Rohan Dennis getting 28 points for the prologue of P-N. In the long term, it's a good sign - it may be yet another 2nd place in a TT, but considering the context (lost by .31 of a second, finished a decent bit clear of Martin, Dumoulin, Wiggins) it looks like he's a step above where he was last year. If only something happens to hand him the reins for this race (TJ, could you have a mechanical at the wrong time please?)

The real stress-inducer is Sagan. He looked like Boasson Hagen in Strade Bianche - obviously one of the 3 strongest in the race when they went away, and you think with 40k to go 'he's got this one', and then inexplicably disappears. I haven't heard an interview with him about it, so I don't know what the explanation is. What I hope is that he did some work with the 3-man group and the 9-man group and underestimated how much the wind would take out of him, and then when he got distanced he went too far into the red doing that effort that almost brought him back, realized the day was a wash, and gave up. That's what I hope. If it's form or conditioning or power, I fear for his classics season. Not ready to hit the panic button yet after one result (although his failure to win the Qatar stage that was tailor made for him is worrisome too), but I will reevaluate after Milan San Remo. Rodriguez has to show something in Tirenno too, more than his anonymity in Oman, or I'll start to get really worried about my team.

My main hope this week is that I don't lose enough ground to fall out of the top 10, but as far as problems to have that's not a bad one.

Froome

I want you to get 2nd in Tirreno, not pull out!

Seems like there will be a lot of drama this season about the big four (Sagan, Quintana, Froome and Purito).

Hi guys, update delayed a bit this week; I've updated the spreadsheet but won't be able to post a full summary update until tomorrow midday my time (about dinnertime in Europe). I know that everyone with Styby is dying to see if they came out on top and everyone else probably doesn't care, but I'll get it out as soon as I can.

Update #9: Stybar sets a high bar

With a marquee 1.HC Strade Bianche on the menu and a pre-classic tuneup 2.1 race in West Flanders, this week was quiet, but still had the potential for some high scores. It ended up that the needle of results was threaded perfectly by unpopular picks, resulting in some of the lowest scores since the week that Rujano and Mancebo were the high scorers in January (eg. I got 73 points but was only in 58th for the week). Zdenek Stybar, owned by a small-enough-to-celebrate-but-large-enough-to-be-notable 22 teams, scored 140 points for his victory in Italy. To illustrate how off the week was for most other picks, a whopping 24 teams scored 140 points or above, meaning there were only 2 teams that didn't have Stybar that scored more than him, as a team. Yipes. 1st through 4th at West Flanders were picked a grand total of 2 times in this game, while 2nd through 5th at Strade Bianche were picked a total of 11 times in this game.

That said, Stybar fans feasted. With help from 3rd place Sergent in West Flanders (unique pick) and 10th place Wisniowski (as well as the 15 points Ewan got on the opening day of Langkawi and 5 for Chaves in SB), tanja takes first place by 7 points, their first placing 'in the points' this season!

Top scorers this week

Rank Team Points this week
1 tanja 261
2 tom_jelte 254
3 LaFlorecita 238
4 Geraint Too Fast 233
5 jeroenk 228

Frequent thread contributor LaFlorecita gets the highest mover prize, moving up 31 places, followed by last year's winner Pentacycle making a jump of 26 places. With almost-unique-pick Contador headlining a Froomeless T-A this week, this could be the first of a few appearances in the weekly rankings.

High movers this week

Rank Team Up/down
1 LaFlorecita (+31)
2 Pentacycle (+26)
3 CraZyCaLL (+24)
4 Ruudz0r (+21)
5 waleweter (+20)

The green jersey competition got tight at the top this week. jeroenk scored points for the fifth(!) week this year and pulled within 2 of leader afpm90, and 6 of the current top 8 overall teams scored points this week. Much like the Strade Bianche itself, the results list is a mix of those contending for the overall rankings, and those that shine more in the week-to-week results.

Points competition

Rank Team Points
1 afpm90 71
2 jeroenk 69
3 asdfgh101 65
3 greenedge 65
5 Geraint Too Fast 64
6 ingsve 61
7 search 61
8 tom_jelte 57
8 Object 57
10 Ludwig_ 53

Some serious movement in the top 10 overall. A yo-yo week for Geraint Too Fast, who after falling a bunch of spots from not having Stannard last week, gained them all back by having Stybar this week. trackstand is still in first, but after another great week jeroenk pulls within 33 points. asdfgh101, search and Londonpat surge into the top 10 with moves between 6 and 8 spots, whereas will10, DJ Sprtsch and Just Some Guy move the opposite way, between 5-10 spots down. Given that it was such a low scoring week, that's just a testament to how close this game is overall.

Overall top 10

Rank Up/down Team Points
1 (-) trackstand 2476
2 (+1) jeroenk 2443
3 (+5) Geraint Too Fast 2333
4 (-2) Object 2270
5 (-1) theyoungest 2266
6 (+7) asdfgh101 2259
7 (-) PeterB 2228
8 (-3) skidmark 2214
9 (+8) search 2205
10 (+6) Londonpat 2182

Thanks for the update!

Luckily, Stybar stopped my free-fall through the rankings so I'm happy. Time for Sagan to step it up

Thanks for the update, did better than expected considering that I do not have Styby

Small suggestion, could you include the popular wisdom teams in the "normal" ranking and not just at the bottom? I always look how they fare and would find this fun

Keep up the good work
