It's page 29.

Thanks.

Thats not how you enter the game. You have to submit your team PRIOR to the deadline by private message to the organizer.

You have posted your team in this thread 2 days AFTER the deadline.

But hey, we accepted other players that were late so why not somebody who was just two days late.

After all, as you have posted, you live in France so that should be a good enough excuse :D

Yes, why not. I'm all for letting Milanello join even though it's a bit late
It's an interesting team.

I also don't see any problem with he joining, though it would be fair if he was treated like Panda Claws.

I believe that there were two other late entrances, they are let's say "half" in competition. But those people send their team by PM, just a little late. No offense, but Milanello send the team two days late just in this topic. In my opinion that's not fair.

I agree, he gets an asterisk next to his name.

I don't see the difference between sending his team via PM two days late or posting it in the thread. After all the only reason we are sending the teams via PM is so other people don't see our picks until after the deadline.

This situation seems very different. Milanello's team was posted in post #283 on this thread--after the spreadsheet with all of the teams had been posted, after the most popular riders had been listed, and after there had been several pages of analysis of the merits of different picks.

I know, it was more of a reply to Vesica's post about it making a difference if someone sends in their team via PM two days late or posts it in the thread 2 days late

Hey, so Milanello, I appreciate that you wanted to participate in the game and I know you have before, but you have to enter by private message by the deadline. Try to keep that in mind for next year, please - you are certainly welcome to play then. For this year, I'll make a sheet for your team so you can track how they would have scored; I feel like that would be at least interesting to track for you. But other than that I'm not going to include the team in the rankings, it's just far too late to be alerted to this.

Okay, let's move on to in-game business. This week's lineup for me (Samyn doesn't matter because I didn't get anything):

West Flanders

Latour (apparently, though he's also listed for Strade Bianche)

don't expect anything, really. Too bad, this race is points up for grabs for cobbles/TT guys and I've got no one - Gaudin, hello! Stuyven? Anyone? Bah.

Strade Bianche

Gaudin
Latour
Filosi
Moser
Stannard
Sagan
Stuyven

Well, I don't expect anything from the neo-pros, This isn't Gaudin's jam either, nor do I really think it's Stannard's although he is growing into an all-round classics guy. This is all Sagan here. Moser's a former winner and looks way better this year, but we'll see. Stuyven, I think could be okay, but I haven't seen how he does in unique terrain like this. Sagan all the way.

Paris-Nice

Dennis
Hivert
De Gendt
S. Yates
Porte

I wish some guys like J-Rod would do this instead of T-A because the points available in a weaker field are better. Oh well... Dennis obviously looks on his game this year, but I think he'll be working for Tejay. Hivert can win some of those selective lumpy stages. Porte is an obvious threat. Yates hasn't looked great in his few outings, and who the hell knows about De Gendt? I'm expecting the popular Porte to mop up points and not much else.

Langkawi

Ewan
Brajkovic

Obviously I'm hoping Ewan can stop Guardini (who I don't have) from mopping up all the sprint points, although I'm encouraged by the more hilly parcours. Brajko is targeting this race, so this is his time to get better than an anonymous 14th place or something. I'd hope for top 5.

T-A (even though it's next week)

Sagan
Gaudin
Konrad
Cavendish
EBH
Goss
Moser
Rodriguez
Gesink
Stannard
Stuyven

Holy hell! See what I mean about wishing some of them were in Paris-Nice? J-Rod up against the only 4 riders that are unarguably head-and-shoulders above him in terms of GC riders in the world (sorry Rujano and Horner), Gesink without a finished race this year, neo-pro Konrad who can get 10th in Oman but the top 10 here is already like defaulted to all the talent. I don't expect the classics guys to be here for anything more than training, so it really comes down to Cav and J-Rod and Sagan for me. Maybe Nibali will be on bad early season form and Froome will have a mechanical and J-Rod can make the podium, but I doubt it.

Oh wait, just looked at the parcours, never mind. Paris-Nice sucks this year!

when he is in shape he is good on steady climbs as well though, also came 11th on Montagne de Lure two years ago. So he might even go for gc again

Four stage races and Strade Bianche are coming and I have some potential winners in all of them so it's time for my team to grab bigger amount of points in upcoming week.

The most important ones will be Arredondo who should defend his top 10 GC place in Tirreno and Fernandez who will ride in Paris Nice but it's hard to expect he will be high in GC with Izagirre and Intxausti also racing.

The last rider that was not so popular is Teunissen. He will ride DVWV and the route seems pretty good for him but the problem might be lack of racing (only DNF in KBK so far..)

Plus important races for guys like Betancur, Porte, Talansky, Barguil, Brajkovic, Henao and so on... Should be a good week for my team.

I don't get Gesink. I picked him thinking he could easily get me a lot of points because of his shorter season last year....arggh. DNF's are becoming his favorite placings...or just simply not starting. :(

Gesink has some issues in his family causing his DNF's. I don't really know the details but I think there are some health issues with his son which understandably take most of his time and attention. In a Dutch article I read his son has just been released from the hospital again today and Gesink will said he will now start focusing on cycling again and is targeting Pa?s Vasco now.

I should have spent those 270 points on Manuele:mad:

I doubt Manuele will score more than Gesink but I was already regretting not picking Manuele... I picked him each year.. and not this year... :( it just shows I should go full fangirl next year :p

you acknowledge in your later post that you're not actually down on Gesink, but I'm just responding in general, it's way too early to hit the panic button. It's a long season. If anyone remembers how good of a bike rider Gesink is and how he was on his way to a top 7 Vuelta place last year (without any racing in his legs) before he had family issues, you'll know that he's gonna score at least 800 points this year. Too bad he's missing this early season stuff, I could imagine him with 150-200 points after T-A, but oh well, he'll get his, I'm sure.
