Okay, let's move on to in-game business. This week's lineup for me (Samyn doesn't matter because I didn't get anything):
West Flanders
Latour (apparently, though he's also listed for Strade Bianche)
don't expect anything, really. Too bad, this race is points up for grabs for cobbles/TT guys and I've got no one - Gaudin, hello! Stuyven? Anyone? Bah.
Strade Bianche
Gaudin
Latour
Filosi
Moser
Stannard
Sagan
Stuyven
Well, I don't expect anything from the neo-pros, This isn't Gaudin's jam either, nor do I really think it's Stannard's although he is growing into an all-round classics guy. This is all Sagan here. Moser's a former winner and looks way better this year, but we'll see. Stuyven, I think could be okay, but I haven't seen how he does in unique terrain like this. Sagan all the way.
Paris-Nice
Dennis
Hivert
De Gendt
S. Yates
Porte
I wish some guys like J-Rod would do this instead of T-A because the points available in a weaker field are better. Oh well... Dennis obviously looks on his game this year, but I think he'll be working for Tejay. Hivert can win some of those selective lumpy stages. Porte is an obvious threat. Yates hasn't looked great in his few outings, and who the hell knows about De Gendt? I'm expecting the popular Porte to mop up points and not much else.
Langkawi
Ewan
Brajkovic
Obviously I'm hoping Ewan can stop Guardini (who I don't have) from mopping up all the sprint points, although I'm encouraged by the more hilly parcours. Brajko is targeting this race, so this is his time to get better than an anonymous 14th place or something. I'd hope for top 5.
T-A (even though it's next week)
Sagan
Gaudin
Konrad
Cavendish
EBH
Goss
Moser
Rodriguez
Gesink
Stannard
Stuyven
Holy hell! See what I mean about wishing some of them were in Paris-Nice? J-Rod up against the only 4 riders that are unarguably head-and-shoulders above him in terms of GC riders in the world (sorry Rujano and Horner), Gesink without a finished race this year, neo-pro Konrad who can get 10th in Oman but the top 10 here is already like defaulted to all the talent. I don't expect the classics guys to be here for anything more than training, so it really comes down to Cav and J-Rod and Sagan for me. Maybe Nibali will be on bad early season form and Froome will have a mechanical and J-Rod can make the podium, but I doubt it.
