So, this is my Giro squad, 9 riders as it should be:
My team finished the Giro only with three riders. Alas, this should have been big scoring race for Hesjedal. Without those points, can he even equal his '15 score? I can imagine there are a few people at Trek Segafredo team who ponder on something similar :D

Peraud, Jean-Christophe 0
Hesjedal, Ryder 0

Update #17: A miracle for Emericlabordure!

OK, so the headline is a little cheesy. But Emericlabordure did in fact have a wonderful week. With almost 300 points from Coquard, 168 from Kittel and some minor points from various other riders, Emericlabordure is this week's top scorer, closely followed by EvansIsTheBest who also had Coquard and Kittel. Sneekes is third with Carthy, the rare pick Meurisse and Kittel.

This Week's Top scorers

Rank Team - Points this week
1 Emericlabordure - 592
2 EvansIsTheBest - 543
3 Sneekes - 498
4 ItalianGigolo - 482
5 Kazistuta - 412
6 comodoro - 412

EvansIsTheBest, edged out by Emericlabordure in this week's top scorer's ranking, gets his revenge in the high jumping category, as he jumps 26 places - and into first place on the list this week. Emericlabordure is second, moving up 23 places.

Rank Team - Up/down
1 EvansIsTheBest +26

Emericlabordure's magical week continues as he rises to top on the climber's competition adding 20 points to his tally. ironted is a close second - trailing by just one point. With 25 points, EvansIsTheBest jumps into the top 5 as well.

As if this wasn't enough, Emericlabordure also tops the Green Jersey's competition after this week while ironted once again must settle for second. Adding 22 points to his total, comodoro also sneaks into the top 5.

In the overall top 10 not much happened, yet a lot happened. Nicosix still leads LaFlorecita - although now only by 53 points. A bit further down, 3rd place Falze swap position with 4th place Ferminal while 5th and 6th and 7th and 8th place swap places. Joining the top 10 in 10th place is will10 moving up 6 places.

It works fine here, so I don't know why it doesn't work for you. Try copying the link, perhaps that helps.

Next update will be up tomorrow. Stay tuned!

My Giro was pretty good:

Jungels (already ahead of last year's total)
Amador (finally showing why I picked him)
Henao
Anton
Dombrowski (looking forward to seeing what he can do for the rest of the season)
Kudus

plus Kittel earlier on

nothing from anywhere else though.

this is the first year I do this and I now realise having some random Frenchmen to score loads of points in the multitude of random French races is not a bad avenue to go down next time...

Zabel, Kittel, Demare, Denifl, Kudus, and Nibali scored some points for me at the Giro. Slightly optimistic for the next update

Only starter in Luxembourg is Bohli and the only one in France is Lietar, though...

Update #20: Just some guy? Not just any guy!

The Giro is now in the history books, and while we wait for the next big race, here's update 20.

As usual after a Grand Tour, points have been flying, and this shows on the points scored this week. just some guy scores an incredible 1193 points to top the weekly scoring board with 1st and 2nd placed Nibali and Chaves from the Giro. In second place we have Jspear with the same two riders but scoring 72 points less. The rest of the top 5 all have Nibali as well. In fact, all of the top 10 top scoring teams this week have Nibali in their team.

This Week's Top scorers

Rank Team - Points this week
1 just some guy - 1193
2 Jspear - 1121
3 del1962 - 944
4 Sneekes - 918
5 TheGreenMonkey - 834

In the high moving competition, just some guy destroys the competition, moving up an astonishing 71 places from 98th to 27th! Interestingly, the rest of the top 5 here are the same names as in the top scoring competition.

This Week's High Movers

Rank Team - Up/down
1 just some guy +71
2 Jspear +50
3 Sneekes +49
4 TheGreenMonkey +41
5 del1962 +35

Despite the giant leaps this week, no new teams enter the top 5 in the Polka Dot Jersey competition still lead by Emericlabordure, but with 53 points, Sneekes is getting very close in 6th place.

Polka Dot Jersey

Rank Team - Points
1 Emericlabordure - 90
2 Eric10 - 78
3 ironted - 64
4 LosBrolin - 59
5 the_fool_on_the_hill - 54

The Green Jersey is still worn by Emericlabordure as well, as nothing changes in this competition either.

Green Jersey

Rank Team - Points
1 Emericlabordure - 170
2 ironted - 117
3 Pentacycle - 116
4 Roda_na_Frente - 108
5 Eric10 - 105

Before we go on to take a look at the overall top 10, let's have a look at the monthly rankings. The monthly top scorers list is topped by the very same Emericlabordure who had two amazing weeks this month and has scored a total of 3048 points this month - 45% of his season total! Eric10 and Roda_na_Frente are very close to each other in second and third place while Kjellus and Maaaaaaaarten rounds off the top 5.

This Month's Top scorers

Rank Team - Points this month
1 Emericlabordure - 3048
2 Eric10 - 2861
3 Roda_na_Frente - 2851
4 Kjellus - 2792
5 Maaaaaaaarten - 2767

Looking at the monthly high movers list, Eric10 tops his very solid month with the prize of being the highest moving team jumping 67 places, closely followed by Emericlabordure with a 66 places jump. just some guy, despite his 71 places jump this week, only sits in third place moving up 53 spots.

This Month's High Movers

Rank Team - Up/down
1 Eric10 +67
2 Emericlabordure +66
3 just some guy +53
4 Jspear +48
5 Jakob747 +42

In the overall top 10, a alot happened this week as well. Nicosix is still on top, having now occupied first place 10 weeks in a row - or half of this games duration! skidmark is still in second place, but last weeks third place, Ferminal, drops six places to ninth, while the asian makes a huge jump from 15th to third. Maaaaaaaarten and trackstand also makes huge progress, moving up from 21st to 6th and from 32nd to 10th respectively, while vladimir, Falze and will10 drops out of the top 10.

Top 10 Overall

Rank Up/down Team - Points
1 (-) Nicosix - 7374
2 (-) skidmark - 7167
3 (+12) the asian - 7135
4 (+2) jeroenk - 7122
5 (-) LaFlorecita - 7036
6 (+15) Maaaaaaaarten - 7035
7 (-3) Kjellus - 7001
8 (-1) Squire - 6947
9 (-6) Ferminal - 6928
10 (+22) trackstand - 6891

Yay! First time I've been top 10 after some decent time into this game :)

Now I'm just desperately hoping Landa is the highest in the picking order of the Sky train and he'll be able to get decent GC results in the Dauphine and the TDF, like Froome did riding for Wiggins and like Porte and Thomas almost did if it weren't for their inconsistency or cracking in the end.

The Giro will likely make or break my season. I have a relatively small team but everyone has a good chance of scoring

Landa
Zakarin
Ewan
Pelucchi
Kittel
Betancur
Démare
Cancellara

Well, the Giro was my death knell. It was supposed to be one of the key races for me but my team completely fell apart. Just a total fail. Seriously, could you have come up with a worse waste of points? What a f'ing disaster. I actually believed I had a great team going in - to top it off, I had Chaves until the last day and switched him out for Landa.

Landa: looking good for a podium after the TT...DNF
Zakarin: looking good for a top 4...DNF
Ewan: quits before the stages he's most likely to win...DNF
Pelucchi: when he's not on form he's literally one of the worst riders in the peloton...DNF
Kittel: ok, two wins but he could have had a few more if he hadn't quit. And everybody has him anyway...DNF
Betancur: gets sick...DNF
Démare: meh, a couple of seconds and he quits early...DNF
Cancellara: gets sick right before the Giro and does nothing of note...DNF

My DS should be shot.

Edit: Has anyone ever had a worse expected/actual GT points result?

Damn, that's quite an achievement, jaylew! A truly impressive display of bad luck, dwarfing anything I've been moaning about in this thread.

Among the pre-update top 10, I had the second best week, only beaten by jeroenk. Very happy about that. I have this idea that all the intruders riding Nibali's Giro resurrection will slowly slip away in the coming weeks and months, when all the other GC guys get to work in Dauphiné/Suisse and the Tour. the asian has a fearsome looking team though, which should keep up pretty well. I have a feeling Barguil could become an important pick.

I got fifth for the week, that is a surprise, I must admit I have not really following points I have been scoring for a while. I guess having Nibali helped me even though the actually result with Kruijswijk losing was quite hard to take as I am a big Kruijswijk fan.

Thanks for the update. I was quite worried about this update as I didn't have any major GC rider at the Giro.

At the end, no major slip, (knock knock) and somehow I even moved up a couple of spots. :D

Congrats. :)

Tour de Luxembourg
Hardy 5
Venturini 3
Zaugg 6

Boucles de la Mayenne
Offredo 6

Dauphiné
Contador 56
Martin Dan 10

Nice start to the Dauphiné with Contador, Martin and Rosa in the top 10. Hopefully they can all get a good GC result.

Coquard just became the highest ranked rider from last year (and the only one from the 2015 CQ top 60) to have already gone into profit. Who'd have thought he could be a good pick this year, especially since he's not coming off an injury year? Actually didn't he miss some time with injury this year? Even more impressive.

Oh, I just noticed the latest update hasn't been posted on here
DJW's update:

Update #21: Emericlabordure benefits from another dose of Direct Energie

Maurits Lammertink's win for Roompot at the Tour of Luxembourg ( ) took the headlines in the highest rated race to finish this week but there has been all manner of 2.1 , 1.1 , 1.2 and minor NC races for riders to pick up points as well as the Dauphine prologue. A number of those races were fairly flat stage races and one dayers, so a good week to have plenty of sprinters.

This Week's Top scorers

Rank Team Points this week
1 Emericlabordure 330
2 Roar Like a Mouse 220
3 EvansIsTheBest 210
4 Slapshot 197
5 laarsland 193
6 BalearicBeats 186
7 Trudgin 174
8 comodoro 172
9 WheelsuckersPL 149
10 Josedin 139

Two stages and the overall at Boucles de la Mayenne for Bryan Coquard and third place for teammate Thomas Boudat have fired Emericlabordure into another week winning position. Points for Tao Geoghegan Hart and Gert Joeaar (one of two teams to pick him) help Roar Like a Mouse into 2nd in the week. EvansisTheBest is the only team apart from the week's winner to have Coquard, and despite having very few other points they make the podium.

Balearic Beats wins the prize for best unique pick of the week with 80 of their points coming from Dylan Groenwegen's win of Heistse Pijl.

High movers this week

Rank Team Up / down this week
1 EvansIsTheBest +14
2 Emericlabordure +10
3 laarsland +9

5 Pentacycle +7

Four of the week's top 10 are in the highest movers, with Emericlabordure jumping from 16th into 6th place.

Polka Dot Jersey

Rank Team Points
1 Emericlabordure 110
2 Eric10 78
3 EvansIstheBest 72
4 ironted 64
5 LosBrolin 59

A good week for EvansistheBest sees him rise to 3rd, but Emericlabordure extends his lead in the climber's competition as well as...

Green Jersey

Rank Team Points
1 Emericlabordure 215
2 ironted 177
3 Pentacycle 116
4 comodoro 113
5 Roda_na_Frente 108

Extending their lead in the Points Jersey competition by winning his FOURTH week of the competition. Elsewhere comodoro moves up to 4th, Roar Like a Mouse is up to 7th and EvansistheBest is in to the top 10.

Top 10 Overall

Rank Team Points this week Up / down
1 Nicosix 7396 0
2 skidmark 7178 0
3 the asian 7175 0
4 La Florecita 7143 +1
= ljeroenk 7143 0
6 Emericlabordure 7078 +10
7 Maaaaaaaarten 7057 0
8 Kjellus 7012 0
9 Squire 6963 0
10 Ferminal 6943 0

Not much change apart from Emericlabordure's ten place jump into the top 10, with the bottom half all moving down one. La Florecita has moved from 5th into joint 4th with jeroenk. Her pick of Alberto Contador with his CdD prologue win is largely responsible for that.

ha, I am the 2nd team who has Joeaar and I had no idea he had a good week, completely missed his result in France! he is now very unexpectedly already in profit :D

this week is highly dependant upon Yates, Rosa, Meintjes and Anton. all are so far pretty well placed...

This should be a good week. Almost my entire CQ team is in action :D

Dauhpiné
KREUZIGER Roman
VALGREN ANDERSEN Michael
MARTIN Daniel
MARTIN Tony
GERRANS Simon
HAIG Jack
VERVAEKE Louis
NAVARRO GARCIA Daniel
HOLST ENGER Sondre

Unfortunately Kreuziger and Vervaeke are far back already. Really annoyed by Tinkoff not letting Kreuziger ride Tour de Suisse.

Tour de Suisse
CANCELLARA Fabian
STUYVEN Jasper
VAN GARDEREN Tejay
BARGUIL Warren
TALANSKY Andrew
VANENDERT Jelle
GAVIRIA RENDON Fernando
FARRAR Tyler
LOPEZ MORENO Miguel Angel
PERAUD Jean-Christophe
SERGENT Jesse

Now THAT'S a lineup!

Rund um Köln
PHINNEY Taylor
VELITS Peter
BAUHAUS Phil
HERKLOTZ Silvio
CIOLEK Gerald
KÄMNA Lennard
GOSS Matthew

So all my frustrating riders in the same race. This can't possibly mean any points, right?

Sadly Alberto dropped back to 3rd today, he will struggle to reach 2000 this season which is what I hoped for.
But Martin and Rosa are still in the top 10 (4th and 7th) although it must be said that the next two stages will be the real test for them.
