Update #18: Emericlabordure continues his May dominance

Another - rather quiet - week has passed and for the second week in a row, Emericlabordure leaves quite a mark. However, Roda_na_Frente just edges him out as this week's top scoring team by 2 points. With points mainly from Brandao, Pardilla and Pinto, Roda_na_Frente, wins with 342 points. Emericlabordure's love affair with French sprinters - he has all of Bouhanni, Coquard and Demare, earns him the second place. Last week it was Coquard who earned him the top spot, and this week it's Bouhanni who's pulling the load.

Last week Emericlabordure "only" managed second place in the high movers competition, but this week he destroys the competition, moving up 24 places and now sitting in 21st place overall. abbulf, 5th on the top scorer list, takes second place here with a 17 places jump.

Thanks for the update, Hugo! I don't mind it coming a couple of days late, pretty slow week anyway. But I'd be happy to see next week's update as soon as possible; with the way Jungels and Holst Enger are performing, I might make it into the top 10.

Thanks! I should be able to get the next update out quicker, I just got caught up with a lot of preparation to do for one of my classes who had exams today.

It was meant as a joke. I appreciate your efforts.

Looking at my team, I now have 13 guys into profit. One rider has reached my target point score set for them (Gerrans, 500), and Cancellara (800) is really close. Also Stuyven (350) is just 58 points off.

Among the top 10, LaFlorecita has the most riders in profit with 17. Anyone better?

And I think we can now forget about the 2012 comparison. Our leader is 1600 points off the 2012 leader pre-California, and 10th place is 1100 points off the 2012 10th place.

From the beginning of the year I was hoping and half expecting a Nibi-Landa 1 2 in the Giro....

Hopefully Landa gets a program that can still earn him some points. I think I was right in assuming that last year was a proper breakthrough season and this year at Sky he would be able to be a great pick without crashes or illness, but alas, illness intervened.

Bahhh... I'm actually doing quite well being in the top 30 and looking for two jumps forward from coming two updates with Nibali, Ciccone, Enger and some more in my team. But with TA getting cancelled and Landa being sick at the beginning of the season and now DNF'ing the Giro, after he limited his losses very well in the TT, I still feel kinda screwed this year, because my two most important picks could've scored much better if it weren't for bad luck

Ah the struggles of owning a team! I'm sure JV, Brailsford, Tinkov, ect feel almost as bad as us when their teams fail!

In Cali, I scored 74 with Craddock and 9 for Alexey Vermeulen
Nothing in the other races as far as I can tell.

Update #19: (Up)roar in the rankings?

Continuing the trend of cheesy headlines, here's update 19!

With points from 11 different riders, most notably the two Norwegians Enger and Eiking, Roar Like A Mouse is this week's top scorer. Wallenquist has the same two Norwegians and also Talansky to claim second place in the weekly ranking. the_fool_on_the_hill shows that he's no fool as he secures third place with Alaphilippe and Talansky.

In the overall top 10, a few things finally happened. Nicosix still has a comanding lead, but the host of the game and traditionally a strong player in this game, skidmark, is now in a second place, moving up three places. LaFlorecita drops two places and is now out of the podium. Squire and vladimir takes some nice jumps into the top 10, pushing out Geraint Too Fast and greenedge.

Thanks for the update!

I am continuing to linger just outside the top ten, up one from 13th to 12th this week.

Of the teams in the top ten, Ferminal has Zakarin and jeroenk and Squire have Jungels. Those teams should have a good update next week.

It is also worth noting that every rider on LaFlorecita's, vladimir's, and togo95's teams have scored some points--the first step towards the elusive "all riders into profit" achievement. (There may be others, too, but I only looked at the top 20.)

Also worth noticing that Nicosix has now been on top of the leaderboard for 9 weeks in a row. Will he make it 10 next week and then have been at the top for half the game?

On a personal note, I had an absolutely abysmal week scoing only 30 points

I'm satisfied with Van den Broeck (56 points) and Talansky (99 points) in Calfiornia, however, the performance of Nibali overshadowed this. Without him scoring big points this year, it will be difficult to aim high in this game.

My team is looking pretty good. I'm now 21st. Almost within striking distance of 1st spot when the massive GC points for Landa and Nibali come in!

Quite possible. Zakarin will probably not be enough for Ferminal to overtake Nicosix, especially not when the latter has Tony Martin, Stuyven and Herklotz in action this week. The Russian will need to go nuclear for that to happen.

About something else; I figured out a quick and easy way of calculating lots of overall stats from all the years. And I wonder is Eric8-A who played the first four seasons of the CQ game the same person as Eric10 who played last year and this year?

This was supposed to be the time of the year where I will get a lot of points but no, Landa gets ill and Ewan abandons as soon as all the other really good sprinters abandon too, because ... I have absolutely no idea why.

Great News as I get a little bit away of my nearest challengers with Enger, Talansky or Ten Dam this week

With the Giro, I wont get too much points with the CG so I hope for a nice Tour of Belgium with Benoot, Stuyven, Martin for instance

Those Phinney points are only good for distancing our founding father though. Hugo Koblet is the only team in the top 30 without Phinney.

Tony Martin with a puncture and bike change at a crucial moment is indeed a blow. Let's see if he can cause some trouble on the Ardennes stage, but he won't get the 100+ points I was hoping for. Although with Jungels still hanging in there, I should have a decent week nonetheless.

Update #17: A miracle for Emericlabordure!

OK, so the headline is a little cheesy. But Emericlabordure did in fact have a wonderful week. With almost 300 points from Coquard, 168 from Kittel and some minor points from various other riders, Emericlabordure is this week's top scorer, closely followed by EvansIsTheBest who also had Coquard and Kittel. Sneekes is third with Carthy, the rare pick Meurisse and Kittel.
