The Giro should be nice for my team :D

Giro d'Italia
NIBALI, Vincenzo
CICCONE, Giulio
FORMOLO, Davide
KUDUS, Merhawi
KITTEL, Marcel
DÉMARE, Arnaud
BETANCUR, Carlos
BERLATO, Giacomo
LANDA, Mikel
CANCELLARA, Fabian
POZZATO, Filippo
MARTINEZ, Daniel Felipe

So it looks like I got two of the three main favourites for the GC, arguably the two best sprinters, a favourite for the TTs and a few decent riders for stage hunting/minor GC place points :)

Wow, and I though my team for the giro was good

I know you said arguably, but I'm not even sure you can even arguably put Demare amongst the top 2 sprinters in this field. Terrific Giro team, though. I have a good one too, but yours is top notch.

Thrilled Phil Bauhaus won the first stage in Azerbaidjan.

Hope I'll score some points in the Giro. It's more or less the make-or-break race for Nibali. He can score points and save is/my season later, but a nice Giro is vital.

Nibali
Kudus
Kittel
Demare
Cancellara
Zabel
Vanendert
Denifl
Betancur

Am expecting to be fairly high up this weeks rankings with Yates, Lluis Mas, Kudus, Tejay and the superlative Reichenbach all scoring solidly.

I'd be more than happy if this Giro team were just above or below average. Three weeks is a long time without a big GC hitter

Formolo
Clarke
Kudus
Martinez
Betancur
Cancellara
Kung
De Marchi
Battaglin
Le Gac

Am kind of worried about last week's update, I think I did pretty bad

Not an awful lot of racing this week, I have Acevedo racing in the USA who could pick up a handful of points, he was 6th on the first stage of the Tour of the Gila, but there is a 26km TT which could kill his chances

In Dunkerque Martinez finished 9th on the first stage, hopefully he can keep it up and score some GC points. Perhaps Offredo could score as well.

Giro:
CAPECCHI, Eros
RUFFONI, Nicola
KITTEL, Marcel
DÉMARE, Arnaud
BETANCUR, Carlos
CANCELLARA, Fabian
Not good at all, I have absolutely no one for the GC, I guess I should hope for loads and loads of stage points but Betancur, Demare, Kittel and Cancellara are all fairly popular. No chance for me to keep up with the teams with Landa and/or Nibali (or any other semi-decent GC rider  ) although I guess this means my GC heavy-hitters will ride the Tour and my score could be better there

Update #16: Roda_na_Frente and ironted victorious in quiet week

I've taken over the updating job from skidmark for May, so here it is, my first update (in a long time at least). A lot has happened to the spreadsheet since I last made an update, so please let me know if I've made any mistakes. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the Points Jersey tab to work, so it won't be included in this week's update. Hopefully it's back next week. Sorry!

Also, does anyone know of a good website I can use to upload the spreadsheet for you to download for free?

Anyway, back to business. My first week behind the updating desk isn't exactly one for the history books, with Tour de Romandie as the one big race this week, which also means quite low scores this week. Roda_na_Frente takes the victory with 1st and 6th place finishers Quintana and Costa in his team. Leadbelly takes second place with points from 5th place finisher Dumoulin and some minor points from riders in various other smaller races. magnolia, ironted and vernakular round off the top 5 highest scoring teams this week.

This Week's Top scorers

Rank Team - Points this week
1 Roda_na_Frente - 503
2 Leadbelly - 437
3 magnolia - 417
4 ironted - 406
5 vernakular - 400

While ironted and magnolia "only" fought for 4th place in This Week's Top Scorers competition, they have a fierce battle for This Week's High Movers competition. And once again, ironted just edges out magnolia, jumping 19 places - 1 more than magnolia's 18.

This Week's High Movers

Rank Team - Up/down
1 ironted +19
2 magnolia +18
3 cj2002 +16
4 jaylew +12
5 VeloRooms +10
5 comodoro +10
5 PeterB +10
5 StephenC2020 +10

ironted's first place in the high movers contest leaps him into the Polka Dot Jersey as well! Adding 25 points to his tally - his first points since week 9 - ironted jumps past Eric10 who adds 2 points to his tally. tom_jelte, LosBrolin and Emericlabordure completes the top 5.

Polka Dot Jersey

Rank Team - Points
1 ironted - 64
2 Eric10 - 59
3 tom_jelte - 49
4 LosBrolin - 45
4 Emericlabordure - 45

In the overall classification, not much happened. Kjellus - 12th best team this week - jumps 3 places and enters the top 10 while Pentacycle makes way. With a decent week, Falze closes a bit of the gap to the front duo, LaFlorecita in 2nd and Nicosix in 1st place.

Top 10 Overall

Rank Up/down Team - Points
1 (-) Nicosix - 6397
2 (-) LaFlorecita - 6276
3 (-) Falze - 6241
4 (+3) Ferminal - 6112
5 (-) jeroenk - 6081
6 (-2) skidmark - 6072
7 (-1) greenedge - 6008
8 (+3) Kjellus - 5977
9 (-1) Geraint Too Fast - 5973
10 (-) shalgo - 5889

I've got my first day off (and hence, internet) today so I figured I'd give an assist to Hugo and do a quick update of the spreadsheet on my own and post a link.

You can get it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dk37ms1jguaxya1/CQ%202016%20update%2016.xlsx?dl=0

Hugo and I PM'd about the green jersey tab issue and hopefully it will work on his end. It did on mine, and here is the update on that:

Rank Team Total
1 Pentacycle 116
2 ironted 113
3 Nicosix 100
4 tom_jelte 93
5 Emericlabordure 90

The only change in the top 5 is that ironted jumps into the number 2 position overall with 26 points on the week. A few new scorers this week including the weekly winner, meaning 118 teams have scored points.

Also, it was the end of the month. Here are the month of April's high scorers:

Rank Team Points this month
1 Eric10 1912
2 Kjellus 1768
3 Londonpat 1733
4 Slapshot 1654
5 LaFlorecita 1644
6 Trudgin 1637
7 Roda_na_Frente 1625
8 cj2002 1585
9 togo95 1541
10 yoyokt 1539

And here are April's high movers:

Rank Team Up/down
1 Eric10 (+55)
2 Kjellus (+39)
2 Londonpat (+39)
4 cj2002 (+33)
5 togo95 (+32)
6 Crevaison (+24)
6 yoyokt (+24)
8 GP Blanco (+23)
9 vladimir (+21)
9 asdfgh101 (+21)

So, this is my Giro squad, 9 riders as it should be:

GC hopefuls:
Peraud, Jean-Christophe
Hesjedal, Ryder
Roche, Nicolas

Sprints:
Kittel, Marcel (and prologues!)
Démare, Arnaud

Wildcards:
Cancellara, Fabian
Denifl, Stefan
Vanendert, Jelle
Betancur, Carlos

With Herklotz finally getting off the mark this week, a lot of teams will now have had all their riders score points, I reckon.

I can't believe the bad luck my team is having these days. It's a miracle I'm still keeping up near the top ten. My biggest hope for some Giro points, Peraud, is so far the only casualty in the Giro. I'm a big Peraud fan outside the game as well, so obviously I'm more gutted for him on a personal level. Hope he recovers quickly and has a nice second part of his final season.

It was a week of scraping together points in all sorts of races for me. In the end, I scored more than expected, mostly because I didn't expect any points from Azerbaijan and Dassonville scored some nice points in Dunkerque.
With Herklotz and Ruffoni scoring this week, all my riders are now off the mark :) Offredo and Acevedo are into profit :)

Tour of the Gila
Acevedo 13

Tour of Azerbaijan
Herklotz 25

4 Jours de Dunkerque
Offredo 56
Dassonville 30

Giro d'Italia
Kittel 168
Demare 43
Ruffoni 10
Cancellara 3

Total: 348

Was hoping Backaert could do something as team leader at Dunkerque, but he never featured. Almost compensated for by Ratto's suprise podium at Madrid! He becomes only the 4th of my non-popular picks to go into profit, along with Reichenbach, Lluis Mas and Ebsen. The first three could all double their tally at least, whilst Ebsen was a zero-pointer anyway.

Having looked at the Giro parcours, should be a relatively good one for stage hunters so am happy to have De Marchi, Battaglin, Clarke, maybe even Martinez and Kung. So much ITT is unlikely to favour Formolo or Kudus for GC mind. Maybe they'll give up on that front after stage 9 and go on the attack as well

Update #17: A miracle for Emericlabordure!

OK, so the headline is a little cheesy. But Emericlabordure did in fact have a wonderful week. With almost 300 points from Coquard, 168 from Kittel and some minor points from various other riders, Emericlabordure is this week's top scorer, closely followed by EvansIsTheBest who also had Coquard and Kittel. Sneekes is third with Carthy, the rare pick Meurisse and Kittel.

This Week's Top scorers

Rank Team - Points this week
1 Emericlabordure - 592
2 EvansIsTheBest - 543
3 Sneekes - 498
4 ItalianGigolo - 482
5 Kazistuta - 412
6 comodoro - 412

EvansIsTheBest, edged out by Emericlabordure in this week's top scorer's ranking, gets his revenge in the high jumping category, as he jumps 26 places - and into first place on the list this week. Emericlabordure is second, moving up 23 places.

This Week's High Movers

Rank Team - Up/down
1 EvansIsTheBest +26
2 Emericlabordure +23
3 ItalianGigolo +16
4 Sneekes +15
5 axis +13

Emericlabordure's magical week continues as he rises to top on the climber's competition adding 20 points to his tally. ironted is a close second - trailing by just one point. With 25 points, EvansIsTheBest jumps into the top 5 as well.

Polka Dot Jersey

Rank Team - Points
1 Emericlabordure - 65
2 ironted - 64
3 Eric10 - 58
4 tom_jelte - 49
5 EvansIsTheBest - 47

As if this wasn't enough, Emericlabordure also tops the Green Jersey's competition after this week while ironted once again must settle for second. Adding 22 points to his total, comodoro also sneaks into the top 5.

Green Jersey

Rank Team - Points
1 Emericlabordure - 135
2 ironted - 117
3 Pentacycle - 116
4 Nicosix - 100
5 comodoro - 97

In the overall top 10 not much happened, yet a lot happened. Nicosix still leads LaFlorecita - although now only by 53 points. A bit further down, 3rd place Falze swap position with 4th place Ferminal while 5th and 6th and 7th and 8th place swap places. Joining the top 10 in 10th place is will10 moving up 6 places.

Top 10 Overall

Rank Up/down Team - Points
1 (-) Nicosix
2 (-) LaFlorecita
3 (+1) Ferminal
4 (-1) Falze
5 (+1) skidmark
6 (-1) jeroenk
7 (+1) Kjellus
8 (-1) greenedge
9 (-) Geraint Too Fast
10 (+6) will10

Thanks for the update! I was quite worried about this update but at the end, I was positively surprised to move up a few spots all thanks to one guy I forgot about ... PARDILLA BELLON Sergio :D

I don't really have much going on at the Giro so it will be painful watching the next few updates

I am not really sure where I got many points from last week. I can at least say that I am the only player to have the current 2nd and 3rd on GC (and they did score the odd point on a couple of stages) in their team  but I am doubtful that either will stay close to there plus with a bit of luck one of them would be leading as well. at least Amador is showing me that I was considerably less stupid than I have been thinking I was in picking him.

Yep, was getting a little worried about Enger. Showed a lot of talent as an espoir, not just in sprinting but also in hilly terrain (e.g. U23 Firenze WC), but hasn't really done that much as a pro. His ride at Picardie also wasn't very impressive, but at least it earned him a fair amount of points. :D

Hopefully he can do well in Norway as well, seeing as he'll be riding with the national team.

Still 2nd, phew. Although I can feel Falze breathing down my neck :)

I have been accused of this heavy breathing before, but the case was dropped before it went to court :)

Happy with a solid 3rd still.

Struggling at the Giro for overall and am hoping for stage success with Anton, Betancur and maybe Jelle Vanendert.

I see me dropping down in the next few weeks, unless i hit it big in California.
