Im starting to think not many of the sprinters are gonna be dropped on these stages and with several teams looking for a sprint win I think every stage bar the hilltop finish will be contested by a pretty big bunch

Surely a climb as hard as the struggle, 30k from the finish will see splits in the bunch? Especially with some tricky climbs before that which are much more difficult than today, plus a finish up Beast Banks (400m @ 10%+)

Dan Martin has no sprinter to protect and says he will go for this race ...so I expect him to attack.....Nicolas Roche would go for it too but Viviani is the team leader . BMC & Movistar as well ....Not every team will want to wait for the sprint

SKY may have too many conflicting options ...

Today's stage looks quite well designed. I think The Struggle is a hard enough climb for the race to blow up there. Putting a climb that's sure to break up the race at 30km with some easier terrain to follow is always a good idea. It's good that cycling in Britain has grown a bit, there's such an amazing geography for good race design; steep hills with narrow but raceable roads everywhere and terrible weather all year around. The Tour of Britain and Tour of Yorkshire are usually quite good. :)

Group of 14 including Roche, Greipel and Vermote have 1"26 with 43k's to go. Less than 10k's from the struggle and the weather is horrible!

Dennis very strong, reaches the front group of 5. No time gap back to what's left of the bunch.

Didn't see Dumoulin, Poels or Dan Martin at all.

Cummings drops Martin and Dumoulin, Gallopin trying to make it across too.

Cummings makes the front group! Great racing
