The team of HelgeBlendet looks scary for the next update

Yep, this week might probably be my highlight of the year. Just counting today, the Giro delivered 1300+ points for me. Carapaz and Bennett as the relatively rare picks on top of Lopez, Oomen, Formolo, Brambilla, Ciccone, Chavez, Gesink...

I said it earlier, but it seems I picked my team based on "who could do well in the Giro..."

update: ruvu75 more like ruvu1

Huge points coming in with the Giro GC points with many people scoring 1000+ points this update, so let's dive right in:

this week's top scorers
1 HelgeBlendet 1778
2 zlev11 1421
3 shalgo 1375
4 torcia_86 1372
5 kabete 1208

HelgeBlendet wins the week with a whopping 1778 points! Lopez, Oomen, Bennett, Carapaz, Gesink, Ciccone, Coquard, Lambrecht, Formolo and Brambilla all score more than 80 points and many of them quite a bit more than that. In second place we have zlev11 who's busy with a very good week; he earns his points Yates, Lopez, Oomen, Formolo with 100+ points and various riders not much below 100. Shalgo and Torcia both have some of the more common high earning picks and also Carapaz. Kabete doesn't have Carapaz, but he has some rare points with Schachmann and Dion Smith, while also having a ton of smaller earners which add up to some significant points. (Honorable mention to the 6th placed player of the week, with Oomen, Bennett and Ciccone as some of his rarer picks who did well this week.)

This Week's High Movers
1 HelgeBlendet (+46)
2 zlev11 (+34)
3 shalgo (+31)
4 laarsland (+21)
5 derrudi (+20)

With the monstrous score HelgeBlendet is also the highest mover by some distance. Zlev and Shalgo up there as well as is to be expected. Laarsland is fourth, but overall, having picked Aru, I imagine he can't be too happy with this Giro. He has a rare pick in Schachmann who has done very well though. Derrudi has some fairly rare points as well with Oomen, Andersen and Gesink.

Green Jersey
1 Eric10 162
2 LightBing 150
3 Squire 127
4 ChrisDK 120
5 Kryvo 112

Not too much change here. Squire is the only on in the top 5 who earns some points which is enough for him to pass ChrisDK.

Overall Ranking
1 ruvu75 7566
2 Eyeballs Out 7506
3 Squire 7445
4 TheArt 7413
5 LightBing 7388
6 Wallenquist 7387
7 GP Blanco 7348
8 trackstand 7315
9 MADRAZO 7176
10 scrooll07 7151

Now that LightBing's reign has come to an end, it looks like we are now in a less stable period, with the lead changing again. Ruvu75 edges out Eyeballs Out by 80 points to take the lead. Behind them Squire, who's had another good week, joins them on the podium. LightBing keeps dropping and tracksand lost four places. Further below scrooll07 gets back into the top 10, while Kryvo drops out.

Just want to remind people of this:

Just want to say that I still need someone to do updates for June, as well as July. So please PM me if you are interested!

Did he find anybody yet?

Thanks for the update!

That's probably as good as it gets for my team for a while. Shooting up 46 places this far into the season sure is fun. Now let me find a parachute while my riders are all resting...

Thanks for the update! And congrats to HelgeBlendet for the 16th highest weekly score of all time! :D

I'll be doing the June updates. I can maybe do July too, but if someone else can step up, that'll be great.

This week is gonna be crumbs compared to the Giro GC points.

Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg (2.HC)
DE BIE Sean

Probably too hard for him.

Boucles de la Mayenne (2.1)
JONES Brenton

Jones has been more or less a disaster in Europe so far. He can still score some handy points by being 8th or so in 1.1 and 1.HC races, but for stage races like this one I have no hopes.

Hammer Sportzone Limburg (2.1)
MAS Enric
VAN POPPEL Danny
OOMEN Sam
ENGER Sondre Holst

A lottery, and not a lot of points on offer anyway.

Market Heistse Pijl (1.1)
BOL Cees

Seems like I need to put my faith in my unique pick for this week.

There's also the Dauphiné prologue. Maybe Thomas or Alaphilippe can score a point or two there, but the big Dauphiné points are reserved for next week.

Not at all surprising I dropped a bunch of places this week. However, I am happy that I now have two more riders in positive points. Brambilla is now into positive points as is Betancur. That is at least something. Plus Lluis Mas is only a handful of points away from positive points.

Also feeling good about my Duaphine team which will have:
Marc Soler
Jaime Roson
Jaime Castrillo
Jasha Sutterlin
Niki Terpstra
Steve Cummings
Lawson Craddock
Neilson Powless

My team for the Dauphine is not as bad as I feared

Boswell
Restrepo
Coquard
Latour
Bohli
Brambilla
Haussler
Kennaugh

It's still a collection of guys I thought/hoped would do much better than they did so far.

G Thomas must be the most frustrating pick of the year. And it's also becoming a pattern that every time Thomas is supposed to win something and f*cks it up it's Kwiat who takes the win instead. This is the freakin third time in one season that this has happened

Team sent.

Nice. You should be placed first at the next update if done right :D

Joke aside, you'd have to wait until next year to compete in the year-long CQ competition - but that leaves plenty of time to consider your team. Next up in here is the Tour De France game.

Beacause I picked him, I guess.

Something else, Daryl Impey! After a three year decline, 625 -> 499 -> 256 -> 242...who would've guessed that he at the beginning of June would have 805 points? And on the same team all the time. What happened there?

Leading the team in the Australian races instead of the departed Gerrans means you can score a lot of points.

Preach buddy
Yes, back in December I thought Thomas was an easy pick. He didn't get a full GT attempt last year and had an abbreviated season. With Froome's troubles, I thought Thomas would get, if anything, more opportunities.

I picked Impey last year

Update #21: Hipster week

Sorry for the delay, there was some confusion about who was gonna do this update.

A pretty quiet CQ game week, but we probably needed that for our post-Giro hangover. There were actually a great number of points on offer: One 2.HC stage race, three 2.1 stage races, three 1.1 races, one 2.NC and a bunch of 2.2s and 1.2s. The problem was that almost nobody had the big scorers in Luxembourg, Korea etc.

This Week's Top Scorers

Rank Team Points this week
1 archieboy 368
2 armchairclimber 305
3 Jon_Ezeitza 273
4 VeloRooms 264
5 zlev11 257

Hence, it was the week of the hipster teams. zlev's popularity ranking of 104th out of 133 teams makes theirs the most 'popular' team in the top 5. archieboy takes the week, and underscoring the hipster nature of this week, the majority of his 368 points were scored by riders picked less than 10 times. Oomen's 7 points and Pidcock's 28 points being the exception. Boucles de la Mayenne winner Mathieu Van der Poel (152 points) did most of the scoring, with Anthony Perez (75 points from Luxembourg) and Max Kanter (61 points from Mayenne) chipping in with decent amounts.

For armchairclimber in 2nd place, it's quite fitting that Romain Seigle, 2nd behind Van der Poel in Mayenne, is the top scorer with 85 points. The egalitarian team of Jon_Ezeitza in 3rd also rides the fortunes of Van der Poel, supplemented by Sbaragli's 48 points from GP Lugano and other minor scorers.

This Week's High Movers

Rank Team Up/down
1 archieboy (+13)
2 armchairclimber (+11)
3 zlev11 (+7)
4 Poles & Co. (+6)
5 Yellow Knight (+5)

A double-double for the teams of lower-case a's this week. archieboy's leap moves him into the top 50. The 3rd highest mover, zlev11, brings some exotic Korean points with the almost-unique pick of Mihkel Räim.

This Month's Top Scorers

Rank Team Points this Month
1 HelgeBlendet 2637
2 zlev11 2624
3 Eric10 2516
4 torcia_86 2301
5 Squire 2192

The month of May is behind us, and it's no surprise that Giro dominator HelgeBlendet is the monthly top dog. Another Giro high-roller, zlev11, who also had another good week now, takes a close 2nd place. Coincidentally (or maybe not), zlev11 was top-scorer for the month of May last year. They seem good at hitting peak shape for the end of the Giro. Is it Kruijswijk in disguise?

This Month's High Movers

Rank Team Up/down
1 zlev11 (+68)
2 HelgeBlendet (+55)
3 Eric10 (+53)
4 archieboy (+41)
5 torcia_86 (+33)

Many of the same names here. 68 places is quite a massive leap for zlev11. torcia_86 is the one who has made the most noise towards the top of the standings, with a very good month bringing them up to 14th overall.

Green Jersey Competition

Rank Team Total
1 Eric10 162
2 LightBing 150
3 archieboy 134
4 Squire 127
5 Jon_Ezeitza 120

archieboy continues to reap rewards from his good week, and moves to 3rd in the green jersey competition. Jon_Ezeitza is in the points for the first time since January ( ), and that is good enough to jump back into the top 5.

Top 10 Overall

Rank Up/down Team Points
1 (-) ruvu75 7705
2 (-) Eyeballs Out 7660
3 (-) Squire 7586
4 (-) TheArt 7524
5 (+2) GP Blanco 7514
6 (-) Wallenquist 7509
7 (+1) trackstand 7441
8 (-3) LightBing 7437
9 (-) MADRAZO 7330
10 (-) scrooll07 7261

Very little change here, which is to be expected with few and rare points being scored this week. LightBing has a bit of a disastrous week, and GP Blanco is the one to profit the most. In other news, four more teams are now in profit, joining ruvu75 and Eyeballs Out.

Well that could have been worse.

Got points from Seigle, Hodeg, and Doull.

My Dauphine team I thought would be decent, but it's not looking that way now.

My Suisse team:

Carthy
Amador
Doull
Cunego
Taaramae
