Yeah, you were in such a need to have riders scoring...

Also, what do the "into profit" thing even mean? Do points from a rider not count until he's into profit?

The game is all about scoring the most points possible (if you play it by their rules, I mean, which we obviously don't). So if you've done it right, all your riders will score more points than they did last year.

It's the shame level. You don't want any picks that did worse than the previous year because that would be a shameful failure.
I think it´s also a bit of an extra competition here, since Shakes has a table under Random stats in his website, where you can see how many of your riders are already into profit.

I think, it never happened until now, that a player had all his riders into profit, so to reach that, would be as historical as winning this game. (Well of course you could cheat in achieving that, if you just nominate 0 pointers or very low scoring pointers, but normally nobody do this)

To say, that a rider is into profit also normally means that a rider just scored a huge amount of points (as is the case for Carapaz), which is of interest for all the players in this game.

Not having J. Christen also starts to hurt a bit. Don´t know, why I exactly decided myself against him anymore in the end, but I think it was something like:
He mainly got his results in the U23 ranks from breakaway attacks in hilly races, he is not good enough in the high mountains to be a good GC rider. This didn´t become totally untrue, but what I didn´t consider is, that UAE also rides a lot of these hilly classics, which are perfect to score here for a rider like J. Christen.

I'm there with you. J Christen was one of my last cuts and I'm not sure why...

So, I got a grand total of... *checks notes*... 20 points out of the Tour.
And that's assuming Cort finishes and get the 15 points for that.

If you only want 15 points, that's perfectly fine with me. I'll happily take the remaining 5 off your hands ;)

After yesterday's stage, there was still a chance for Aranburu to sneak into the top 50 and get 21 points or more, but he's 20 minutes behind now (but only 2 behind Cort).

I thought it was 15 for finishing a GT, as opposed to the regular 5 for finishing a WT race. Or does the Tour have to be extra super duper special?

But you're not getting my points!

It's 20 for the Tour. There are also more points handed out in the mountains and points classifications. Lazkano dropped down two spots in the KOM today, which will give him 10 points less as things stand.

Girmay really seems to become a must pick in this game! Ackermann also scored nicely in the last couple of stages. Now nearly into profit!

And I´m moving up to 4th overall! Wow, never had been so high up in the ranking.

I'm going to need you to slow down now.

And up to 3rd overall!

Depending on Carapaz performance in the last couple of stages, second place after the Tour could also become possible.
It's almost like you didn't understand the assignment at all.

I'm there with you. J Christen was one of my last cuts and I'm not sure why...
Shalgo hacked my computer to take Christen off my team, I'm sure the same thing happened to you.

Not too bad of a Tour for me, C-rod, Jorgenson, Carapaz, Mas, Girmay. Polka dots and green along with 2 top ten GC and 2 more inside 20th.....too bad Powless has been crap all year.
Hopefully C-Rod can leapfrog Yates in the GC tomorrow and get a few more points.

So, after a rather forgetable Tour - yes, I know the final stage hasn't even started yet - it looks like next week could be a bit better for me...

After the conclusion of the Tour, I will most likely be about 200 points ahead of you. I haven't overtaken anyone since early February.

So much for this, huh?

You still have a buffer of close to 200 points, and without Bilbao and Izagirre I doubt I will be closing that gap during the Tour. Skjelmose will also likely help you a lot during the rest of the season.

Ayuso leaving the Tour is potentially quite bad for us non-Ayuso pickers. Vuelta podium with a bunch of stage points is worth much more than a mid top ten in the Tour plus fatigue for the rest of the season.
I think it's quite likely that he will end up as an average pick, but depending on his race program he can also end up not scoring much for the rest of the year.

Pogi will end up on the optimal team, I think.
Likely. He's also helped in that regard by the prospect that there won't be many 500+ guys making huge leaps in their scores this year.

Contrary to 2018, when Valverde didn't make the optimal team despite returning 2884 points on a cost of 1828. This because the much cheaper but still quite expensive Yates, Alaphilippe and Thomas all reached around 2000 points. Doesn't look like we'll have many riders in their price range doing similar things this year.
