I've had my team more or less ready since late October and most of the riders in it are quite locked in. Much of it wasn't too difficult. Only had the occasional shuffle of the 3-4 spots I'm least certain about. There hasn't been many news which have changed how I view things either. So the CQ team process hasn't really occupied my head too much this winter compared to some other years.

Don't know if this says anything about the upcoming season and people's teams though. There are still some attractive names I'm gonna have to leave out and some big decisions have been quite one-over-the-other where there was no chance to have the 'other' in there even though I would ideally have wanted both. Looking forward to the big reveal as usual!

Team submitted!
Quite old team for me this year (over 26 average), so I hope a few veterans that had a lousy 2024 for different reasons can bounce back in 2025. And to my own surpise zero zero pointers made the final cut, even though there were a few on my shorlist. I hope the game will still be very popular, and that we will reach at least 100 teams for 2025.
Good luck to everyone, and hope for an exciting 2025 edition!
Interesting, I tried to include more veterans looking to bounce back this year but I still ended up with an age pyramid like this :

33 : 1
32 : 0
31 : 1
30 : 1
29 : 4
28 : 0
27 : 2
26 : 2
25 : 0
24 : 4
23 : 3
22 : 4
21 : 3
20 : 6
19 : 0
18 : 2

So mission failed clearly.

Are those their ages right now or what they will turn in 2025?

No more tweaking of the team. I just submitted it and happened to land on exactly 7500 points.

Due to my unconventional team selecting methods I have a bit of an unconventional issue:
I have one spot left, and budget is not a concern, so... I just have to make a decision.

Send in my team. Lacked time for proper research unfortunately and just before sending it saw I had one rider in twice... so quickly had to replace. Anyway, can't go worse than last year so only way is up.

Yeah, I don't think you'll get double points for a rider if you do that...
Unfortunately. That would make the game quite a bit easier! Anyway, should be fun again.

Website is not doing anything now, although it is still gathering all CQ Points automatically but will refresh site when teams are know. Might take a bit of time since I need to translate the names of riders to my internal identifiers but should be faster than last year (although website is terribly slow and can't even run most queries on the fly... ).

I have almost 2000 points left for the last few picks. I barely see any riders over 200 that I want to have in my team.

Our teams have often been quite similar and I have had the exact same process this year as you describe, so it will be interesting to see how similar our teams will turn out this year. Very quickly in the proces in late October I got a team that fitted the points well and where I felt safisfied, and then I pretty much forgot about it for the next 2 months (also with no news really affecting it) until looking at again now after Christmas where I have so far barely changed anything, and still now I only feel like Im really seriously considdering a few different combinations for the puzzle of the last 2-3 semicheap spots. But ofcourse there are still a few days left so everything could still end up being chaotic if I suddenly lose faith in some of the more expensive guys for instance, or finds someone that suddenly needs to be included, but so far all has just more or less given itself without too many difficult choises or too hard cuts. It will be interesting to see the reveal for sure and if perhaps there will be more similar teams than usual this year.

Question:
Are we required to put the riders in a table?

(Because it would be quicker if we don't...)

No, I don't think so. Has that ever been a requirement? They should be in the correct CQ format with last name then first names and with no space after the name.

Interesting. Based on ages we can maximally have 20 riders in common. It's also possible to dissern certain picks that you have not made.
Correct, I did not follow your suggestion of stacking my team with retired classics riders in their early forties.

I never sent in a table for either of the games, and got no complaints so far.

Huh? I was sure I'd seen an opening post - probably for one of the GT games - that specified that we had to use tables...
And since I've started playing these games frequently, I don't really read the entirety of the opening posts, just the bit about the budget.

I don't think he's planning on becoming Danish...

No, but I'm not sure Gabriel Müller had dreamt about becoming a Turkish cycling champion all his life either, for instance. Things might change, or perhaps some crazy German woman could be paid to, ehm, persuade him.
