Ganna getting lucky with a relatively weak field/parcours at T-A, more than makes up for all the misfortune at the start of the season. If he can get a decent result at San Remo, then he'll be going into the cobbles with a decent base.

Ganna
Turner
Ciccone
Powless
Van Der Hoorn

Engelhardt
Tullet

Not game related by why are so many people writing Tullet instead of Tulett?
Is Tullet a more common family name than Tulett in anglophone countries?
I think the way it is pronounced.

The way it is pronounced someone would maybe even spell it like Tullett. Just hearing it. I am not watching with English commentary though.

Or are you supposed to pronounce it like Tyou-lett? If so, people may just pronounce it wrong and therefore maybe get the spelling wrong.

I have known two families with the surname (IIRC, both spelling it as Tullet), and both have used the hard T, short U combination. So the commentator's habit of having a glide on the T and a long U always grates. But in their defence, the single L would indicate a longer U, and lentition of the T before a long U sound is more typical.

I tend to suspect that there is a degree of personal knowledge between commentators and at least the more established British riders (it's a fairly small milieu), so I guess that BT would have had opportunity to set them right.

Poor few weeks for me but hopefully going to step up next week. Just seen Lenny added to Catalunya. Finally Kämna is back. And Pellizzari. Contemplating whether I can get cheap flights for Montjuic.
Was fortunate enough to live next to Montjuic for a year. Fantastic location to watch a some of the best riders in the world on an exciting finale. Very easy to navigate your way round to different viewing positions for each circuit.

Oof a rough month for my team gets even rougher. Aside from the popular Tulett looking decent, my only two real hopes this week were Del Grosso (puncture while in the leading group on Thursday) and Gregoire (elite performance before the elastic snapped on the Cipressa, only to roll home in 30th). Promising performances for the rest of the season for sure, but can't keep getting these near misses. And Veermersch, as the most popular rider I don't have, starts scoring points.

I have some - potential - riders for next week as well.

Have had a good couple of weeks with Ayuso, Ganna and few others, and currently fourth. Big team for Catalunya, similar to Paris-Nice, which didn't go well. Need some good results here to build up a cushion before WVA and Vingo start piling up the points. Unlikely my team will be that competitive in the remaining WT stage races.

Ayuso
Gall
Hart
Riccitello
Kamna
Simmons
Del Grosso
Brennan
Staune-Mittet
Buchmann

Something that caught my eye this week: the former winners who have entered this year are having a really rough time so far. There are 7 of them, these are their ranks:

35. EvansIsTheBest
44. skidmark
45. Object
47. shalgo
56. Blues in the bottle
57. ingsve
90. bminchow

Nobody in the upper third, and an average rank of 53.4 - overall, they are collectively doing worse than the other 89 of us.

So, if your team is struggling, know that at least you're in good company...

Well, everybody of them has van Aert in their team. Four of them also have Thibau Nys, who also didn´t start his season yet, which explains it at least a bit. Right now, all the teams without van Aert, Nys and also Vingegaard have an advantage.

Busier week incoming. Hopefully points incoming too .. been a bit rubbish for a couple of weeks.

Do you have the ranking of former losers, too? I'm just asking for a friend.

Yes, busy week ahead!

My riders for this week:

Catalunya:
Gall
Riccitello
Staune-Mittet
Geoghegan Hart
Brennan
Kämna
Torres
Carthy
Gesbert
Schelling

Well, even without Vingegaard a stron line-up, altough I only expect GC points from Gall, Riccitello and Geoghegan Hart and perhaps stage points from Brennan. Would have liked to see Torres in Settimana for Catalunya.

Settimana:
Nordhagen
Graat
Tullett
Gloag
Widar

So basically the whole Visma team with Widar. Until now, Graat is a complete dissapointment. Perhaps he can do something here, but the other three should normally be better. Also expect Widar to score here.

De Panne:
Demare
Behrens?
Vermeesch

E3:
van Aert
van Baarle

Come on, Wout!

Wevelgem:
Magnier
Demare (or in France; PCS have him listed for both races)
Vermeesch

Hopefully we see the pre-Tirreno Magnier again, but I have my doubts..
