Update #28: postmanhat parlays a great week to get to the podium

This update included mostly San Sebastien points and some minor races, so generally scores were low, but one team stood out among the rest.

This Week's Top Scorers

RankTeamPoints this week
1postmanhat512
2Kazistuta392
3Nyssinator390
4MADRAZO388
5Armchair cyclist379
5triley36379

Giulio Ciccone earned 220 points for his 9 owners, so those teams had a massive leg up in a low scoring week. Team postmanhat was head and shoulders above the rest, scoring 512 thanks not only to Ciccone but also good hauls from Nielson Powless (76 points, 5 teams), Luke Plapp (66, 20), and Juan Ayuso (53, 11). Kazistuta comes oh-so-close (in position, if not points) to an extremely rare threepeat, following up two weekly wins with a 2nd place this week, and Nyssinator ekes out MADRAZO for the last podium spot, sans Ciccone but thanks to Isaac Del Toro (166, 8) and Jan Christen (132, 14).

This Week's High Movers

2Lortnoc(+8)

4Armchair cyclist(+6)
5Total Package(+5)
5marksi(+5)
5DJW(+5)

Not much space to move in a slow week in August, but Nyssinator tops the single-digit-moving pack by gaining 9 spots on the week. Lortnoc and 18-Valve, both Christen holders, round out this podium.

Green Jersey Competition

RankTeamTotal
1Pantani4ever316
2Salvarani309
3Rufs219
4Squire183.7
5Kazistuta177

Kazistuta rides the hot streak of 125 points in the last three weeks to get into the top 5, but nobody can touch the top 2. And Pantani4ever has to watch out, because Salvarani gains 12 points by finishing 10th on the week, pulling within 7 of the lead.

Top 10 Overall

7(+3)Devils_Elbow9802
8(-3)Earns19859800
9(-)abbulf9738
10(+3)triley369737

The top 2 remain unassailable, and of course Salvarani moves even farther ahead after finishing 10th on the week. Weekly winner postmanhat moves up 4 spots to take 3rd overall, while lower down triley36 enters the top 10 at the expense of slow climber.

This upcoming week sees a flurry of stage races, with the WT Tour of Pologne, the 2.PS Vuelta a Burgos and Arctic Race of Norway, the 2.1 Tour de L'Ain as well as the likely less CQ-game-relevant but still 2.1 Volta a Portugal and Trans-Himalaya Cycling Race. Oh! And the prestigious but 2.2 Vuelta a Colombia, the famous-for-guys-cheating 2.2 Tour de la Guadaloupe, and a few other 2.2 races. Phew! August is busy!

So, net GC result of that Burgos crash on stage 1:
-80 points for 9 Ciccone teams
40 points for 8 Del Toro teams
14 points for 37 Bisiaux teams
8 points for 12 Pellizzari teams

With the current first place, third place and one of the joint sixth place teams (mine) having Ciccone, it could definitely impact the final order of the top-10.

But you and me are the only ones in the game with the Ciccone and Bisiaux combo ;)

And there are only two teams with Del Toro and Bisiaux.

Del Toro + Pellizzarri... also only two teams.

Charmig gets 20 points for finishing 15th in the GC in ARN.
Kamp gets 10 points for finishing 26th in the GC in Poland.
Salby gets a total of 8 points for 3rd and 4th on stages in Himalaya
Changizi and Johansen each get 5 "well at least you finished" points from Poland. (This also sees Johansen move into profit)

Hopefully, I'm gonna get some points this coming week.
