Really encouraging signs by all four of C-Rod, Widar, DFM and Poole (although not quite as many points as it could have been), and depending on what the UCI decides re: Murcia also some decent points for Mohoric and Cosnefroy. Nobody in Almeria tomorrow (don't understand why Flanders are starting without a sprinter when Crabbe starts next door in Ruta del Sol three days after), so all that's left to play for for me this week is C-Rod defending his GC and potential Lamperti stage points. Assuming that goes okay, it's been a satisfactory week.

August performance was very good today. Finished 6th on the stage, but was probably the 3rd strongest guy in the race. Good to see.

CRod and Widar off to a good start is just nice to see as well.

Meehan decent. Nickle-and-diming himself to some points so far.

Pescador didnt get much of a break after Oman. Adding 5 more points to his profit.

Bit of a slow grind atm. Rest of Feb and March will tell a bit more.

Well, at least Honoré was nice enough to get back into the minor GC points in Oman, after he dropped out of the top-10...

And next week, I'll have some guys in the UAE Tour, so if they could just... finish.

So a few points from Widar, Lamperti, Cosnefroy this weekend... and agood start to Riccitello's season.

What happened to Poole? One minute he's in the front group, next minute he's several minutes down.

Seems like CQranking hasn't published any GC points for Murcia yet at least. I'm guessing they don't know how to handle it so they might wait to see how the UCI treats it. A compromise for their own site might be to just give the stage the points equivalent to a 1.1 race instead of a 2.1 GC.

That isn’t what they did two years ago with Ruta del Sol.

Then again CQ completely ignored the precedent they had set for themselves after stage 19 of the 2019 Tour when deciding what to do with stage 11 of last year’s Vuelta, so I wouldn’t rule anything out.

Ya, based on that they might just not give any GC points at all. The reason I suggested the 1.1 results is because Murcia has been a 1.1 race the past 5 years.

I really don't think they will re-classify the race on their own initiative. Either they give normal GC points if that's what the UCI does, or they do the Andalucia stage-only thing.

In any case, it luckily doesn't seem like the results will be too relevant for this game.

So, as expected, that was a big-fat-round zero* for me this weekend.

Also, I was sure there were points available for the top-50 in a 1.Pro race, but... naah...

Alright, Peter, time to prove that you exists! Also, would be nice if you decide that "at some point in the future" is basically... now.

*Yes... I know... zero isn't round, it's oval.

A slightly better week for me. Very encouraging signs from Riccitello who I had high hopes for this year. Similar pick to Pellizzari ... reasonably expensive but potential for a decent leap forward. And, crucially, not on many teams.

Some good results here with Pau Marti getting a placing, Andrew August doing well in Provence, and then rounded off with Axel Laurence winning the stage today. Looking for mid table stability this season..,,

A rather long list of riders competing next week for me. I'm guessing it will be similar for most given there are three parallel stage races.

Not quite so long for me, though Bévort and Charmig are missing from the UAE Tour section:

2026-02-16Clásica JaénPEDERSEN Casper
2026-02-16UAE TourKOLZE CHANGIZI Sebastian
2026-02-16ØXENBERG Peter

2026-02-18Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del SolCORT Magnus
2026-02-18WANDAHL Frederik

And if I'm really lucky, I might get some guys in the French one-day races next weekend, who'll then go on to do absolutely nothing.
The riders, not the races...
