It's so disappointing, that so many Riders we thought could Win this Most Prestigious Competition, that so many we thought would be at the top have Disrespected this honor by Winning so early. ;):cool:o_O

Latour really had me worried there, with his attacking up the final ramp in GP Indurain, but he managed to avoid disaster, and even score a bit more:

It wouldn't have been a disaster, it would have been a nice win.

In the context of this thread - with its rather weird "rules" - it would have been a disaster.
This thread is a parallel universe, where winning is bad, but top-tenning is good.

But you often refer to riders making horrible choices in other threads too, when they try to go for a win where you think they should just sit up because they have a whimsical statistic to protect.

And I would also have congratulated - indirectly - said rider if he had indeed won.

Anyway, if you can't be jokingly serious about something very silly, what can you be jokingly serious about?

But do you have to reference it all the time? I just think the fun wears off because it's referenced so frequently as an all-encompassing competition that supposedly puts all the actual races into the shadow.

Also, I might get the comments if they were placed in September or October but that riders already now have to pull the brakes in your (joking) opinion just misses the comedic mark for me.

I don't know how much he'll race this season but Raymond Kreder looks promising early (3rd, 2nd, 2nd in three stages of the Tour of Tahiland).
He is also the only rider who ever retweeted me when I posted a stat on most top10s without a win. He once had a very long streak between 2014 and 2018.
