No, you got that wrong. He saved mankind right now.
Rrrrrradio is always right and has huge impact. At least, someone told me so. Lance is finally done now that this thread appeared and the world knows that Lance rode with Joe Aragona on his 50th birthday. This is important stuff that will delight Nowitzky.
Rrrradio even found the holy grale (psssst, please don't tell him that this is only a low quality copy).

Lance can be proud that a vip like rrrrrradio offers a last tiny amount of his precious time for him to, for example, creating such a thread or finding such overhelming evidence by reading multiple Armstrong articles multiply multiple times.

So you got the message now ? Not ?
In reality, Lance doesn't have any supporters, fans or friends - he only has employees and/or scripts.
Each of these not totally anti-LA and each pro-LA post or comment on earth is a fake public opinion generated by a Taliban-bot or was scripted by a bad ugly programmer, who slaps his wife and children and visits hookers.

Now that I found this out I finally realize that I am a bot.
People like us do actually not exist, are poor souls influenced by bazaarvoice and paid by Lance, or are just some lonely, scripted bites.

employees, money receivers, fanboys and none-haters, let's dance.
We're the bots, we're the bots, we're we're we're the bots - or scripts.

People love to change their opinion because of others, especially on the internet.
I wonder who sent all these hater-scripts and bots. They seem to be programmed far more simple and need an upgrade to battle the others in quality and quantity.

It's very boring here with all these 1 and 0. Someone has a 2 ? :(

The five stages of grief:
Denial, Anger, Bargaining, DEPRESSION, Acceptance.

I note that's your interpretation of their work and not anything the company claims to do.

But how do you know they're not just fans? Aren't the fans going to have similar talking points? Doesn't he have millions of followers around the world? It makes sense that many of them will have access to the internet.

Exactly.
The Truth is out there....

When you have an empire like Lance does, built upon fraud and cheating, you must defend it and prop it up by an means necessary.

I am reminded of the Goebbels quote on propaganda, and to a rather large degree, parallels exist:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

If deploying a cast of "fans" to shout down the truth means he can preserve his myth, seems like a sound business decision. Really, it is simply "myth security" enforcing the talking points.

Sad really.

Nevertheless, the quote is a misquotation. It was his view of the communist state that he was refering to.

Actually, it is a direct and very accurate quotation. No one ever said it was anything other than his view of the communist state. Ragardless, it still rings true whan applied to many other campaigns of misinformation.

By the way, here is a gem from a German playwright and Roman drama scholar from the early Twentieth Centrury :

“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over”

Is it time to invoke Godwin's Law yet?

No, it isn't.

No one has suggested that anyone discussed in the forum is a Nazi, or is acting like one, looks like one, etc.

When one is discussing the potential manipulation of public opinion, or controlling the public mindset, you can't simply ignore 20+ years of twentieth century German history, and the very effects of masterful propagnda and thought manipulation that contributed to it.

Firing off "Well, you're just like Hitler" is one thing, quoting a man considered to be the most skillful propagandist of the last 100 years, in a discussion of propaganda, is quite another.

Propaganda knows no political boundaries, and the method of spreading propaganda is the same, regardless of the virtue or atrocity of the message.

Tell you what, I'll change the quote credit to "A German playwright and Roman drama scholar from the early Twentieth Centrury".

Had I said that before, no one would bat an eyelash...

It's cool. I know you were. I just didn't want anyone who didn't understand your post to jump on the bandwagon.

I honestly have zero tolerance for the "Godwin-izing" of a thread. It's gutless and anymore, it's usually done with the understanding that it will get a thread shutdown immediately. The perfect way to get out of an argument when you're losing it.

Paraphernalia is keen to debate the issue of PR firms using the social media on another thread - so I have stuck the comments here for consideration:

I have cut to the relevant pieces

Also - we know that both Livestrong and PS have interns that are actively checking websites, there is no evidence that "LeMonds lawyers" or the FDA do the same - so there is a distinct difference.

To which they replied:

You know no such thing, of course. I can understand that you are reluctant to give up talking points like these but I do not believe such toxic assertions sit very well with the other good forum rules that are enforced by the moderators. It's time to give it up.

To make a forum work it needs to be fair and everybody should have to give a little. There shouldn't be exceptions for popular users.

Then they added:
Paraphernalia said:
Yes it's a PR company. Most celebrities and companies have them. But there is no evidence to support the claim they pay people to go onto internet forums. I'm sure LeMond's companies have publicists as well but I would not claim such a thing about them and I would surely be banned if I did.
.

So - Paraphenallia, I will show that interns from Livestrong and PS monitor websites and you can name and link LeMonds PR company (he does not have one!) or publisist.

Subject: LambStrong Shirts

Hello Mr. Wilson,
My name is Joseph Halbert, and I am an intern at LIVESTRONG headquarters in Austin, Texas. We are interested in learning more about your LambStrong shirts, as they seem to have become an internet phenomenon. In particular, we are interested in their origin and purpose. Any information you can provide would be helpful and appreciated.

Regards,
Joseph

This is the PR firm Public Strategies - they operate from 98 San Jacinto Blvd in Austin.
If that address sounds familiar its because its the same address as CSE Armstrongs management company.

As we can see they have Armstrong mentioned as a client:
Our senior advisors have helped elect two Presidents and many Senators, Governors, and members of Congress. We have trained cabinet secretaries, international diplomats, Fortune 50 management teams and cultural icons like Lance Armstrong and Bono.

Here is the application for the Fellowship Programme:
The Job

Public Strategies is currently accepting candidates' resumes for full-time and part-time fellowships for the Summer 2011 session, which begins Monday, May 23, 2011. Last day of the Summer 2011 fellowship session will be Friday, August 12, 2011.

PSI fellowships offer a unique opportunity for students to learn more about public affairs, crisis and reputation management, and corporate communications campaigns through a hands-on fellowship. Fellows will play a critical role in client work as well as internal projects that consist of heavy research and writing. Candidates are preferably in their junior or senior year of college, recent college graduates, or in graduate/law school.

Requirements

Applicants should have advanced writing, research, and organizational skills and be motivated, fast learners, preferably with an interest in government, politics, or corporate strategy. Knowledge and experience writing in Associated Press (AP) Style is required. Potential fellow candidates should also have a strong academic background, be able to manage multiple projects at a time and maintain a professional and positive attitude to learn and participate in client-related projects.
